The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

With the International break finally at an end, our attentions can turn back to Premier League tinkering. For 256 managers, there’s the added consideration of their involvement in Round Two of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV. The draw for which has been made, and the full set of 128 fixtures can be viewed by clicking this link. Here are a few of the highlights the draw has provided…

There’s no other place to start than to see that Goose has been named as reigning champion Gooner dave‘s next victim. Joking aside, Goose Vs. Gooner dave certainly has a ‘tie-of-the-round’ ring to it, don’t you think?

Competing for that mantle has to be the match-up between FFS Cup I finalist Breakballartist and Locarno. Both are enjoying very respectable seasons and will both fancy their chances of making the third round.

Whilst Gooner dave goes for an incredible treble of cup wins, there are two Fantasy Managers with their sights set on their own a cup double. Members’ Paddy Power Cup Quarter-Finalists ryangal1982 and canetoad face Bloody Yanks and joeforristal, respectively, in their second fixtures of the weekend.

The hotly anticipated Jonty Vs. JauntyJonty bout didn’t come to fruition unfortunately, with the former champ being drawn against Milky, and the top-scorer from round one paired with mathsgeek.

Our final two Scout Contributors have both been handed tough second round assignments, both up against opponents who out-rank them. Big Dunc faces Yanky, whilst our American Contributor Da beeeez has a top 1000 opponent in Foolsgold.

Elsewhere, qualifier number 512 RonnayBarkay will expect to advance to the third round as he easily out-ranks his 444,563rd ranked opponent jottonolan.

Ties to be played over Gameweek 31. Good luck to all competing in the second round, and I’ll bring you it’s results shortly after gameweek has concluded.

So how does this Lovefilm malarkey work on PS3?

I had Lovefilm for quite a while until about a year and a half ago. I liked it but being from Belfast, Norn Iron, there seemed to be quite a gap between me returning my discs and getting new ones. It did my head in having to stop at the post box on my way to work and post the discs back as well so although I liked it I just couldn't be bothered with it.

I have heard recently though that you can now download the films directly to your PS3. If this is true I'd definitely get my subscription back. Just wondering if anyone has it and can let me know how it works and if there are any drawbacks?

    Cheers.

You still have to have an account, but there is a large library of films you can stream that don't count as one of your rentals.

yeah, there's no drawback I can think of. Maybe just that you need one of the more expensive accounts for more streaming.

But here in the UK, there's a 3-4 day gap between posting the film and getting a new one.

    Big dilemna

    A) Baines Ferguson Torres ---> Luiz Lampard and Hoilett - 8 point hit
    B) Hangeland Zigic ---> Luiz and Hoilett - 4 point hit

Seems to be obvious but hate the thought of not having Lamps... Torres is hardly a dead cert.

Scenario: I'm chasing by 20 points in mini league

RvP news: Wenger described Van Persie (knee) and Bendtner (ankle) as having a “good chance” to be involved. However, a final decision on those two, and Ramsey (groin) will be made after training on Friday.

It's amazing how people have forgiven Fabs so quickly for that ridicules backheel pass that helped give the CL tie to Baraca. If it was Song or Denilson or Walcott or Arshavin that made that error, they would've been run out of town by now

Am I the only one who didn't see "Barcelona’s massive superiority over Arsenal"?

Arsenal were in the drivers seat until the Ref's error and Fabs error!

If you want to talk about massive superiority then talk about Milan over Tottenham, because that was a one sided tie-that the better team lost.

No, I said I'd rather have Chamakh than Van Persie...I still would rather have Chamakh, he's done nothing wrong this season, and has done well for his first year. If he was a United player, everyone would be waxing lyrical about his movement and potential(see Hernandez)

Van Persie is a good striker when he's not in the treatment room, he wants to score at all times. Chamakh is a healthier version, and is usually looking to setup his teammates first.

No, you said Chamakh was a better player than van Persie, nothing about FF standards. You used Chamakh's goals at the start of the season when RvP was injured as the reasoning.

I remember it as it was so silly. Shame the posts from earlier on have been purged.

Agreed, I'm not talking FF standard. I would rather have Chamakh as my striker than Van Persie if I owned a club. I can't afford to pay someone who's going to spend half the season in the treatment room on a ridicules weekly-wage packet. Furthermore, Chamakh should only get better, his second year in the league.

Oh yeah, you also said that Chamakh (27 years old) was a better prospect than van P (27 years old) because of his age!

I like this article. But is nani really essential, while adam isn't?

To me, adam is more essential because compared to others the same price, he's in a league of his own.

Nani is the best in his price range, but not by as big a margin, especially with valencia likely to at least slightly reduce his points return, whether it's by sharing the creativity in midfield, or possible sub/ rotation (unlikely but possible).

Good point but I just regard Nani as so consistent and potentially devastating eg: he could easily return double figures 3-4 times before the season is out.

Adam is strong of course but has been very reliant on spot-kicks for his goals. Will that run continue? Possibly, but if the pens dry up, Adam's points will suffer a lot more than Nani will be affected by Valencia in my view.

    More Arsenal news:

    Johan Djourou (Shoulder)
    Last Updated: 31 March
Johan has undergone exploratory surgery on his dislocated shoulder, sustained at Old Trafford in the recent FA Cup fixture against Manchester United. The Club can confirm the positive news that there isn’t a need for reconstructive surgery and he will now begin a period of rehabilitation on the shoulder before returning to training in around a month.

I'd say Carroll because he's cheaper, but if money were no object I'd guess Suarez would edge it on points.

There was this massive investigation after the match fixing news broke, which makes me(and the rest) assume that the fixed game had to be 'unfixed' under media pressure. good for me 😀

You couldn't really lose, could you! If Pakistan win, it's fixed. If India win, it was fixed before being unfixed.

How can you say 'a win for the morals' when, according to you, India were trying (but failing) to fix the result?

I typed this before but it didn't work...

Is Nani really more essential than adam?

Adam is in a league of his own for players 0-6 mil.

Nani is the best in the game this season, but for 10 mil i think you can by a player whose points total will at least be close.

And i'm not sure there are that many gameweeks left where nani would be first choice captain - which would have made a big difference to this argument.

    Opinions?

It did work, Mark replied to it up above.

He makes a reasonable point too.

If a player has a double game week to come, and isn't injured... is there any coherent argument to trasnfer him out? To me it seems silly since he was probably bought because of the dgw, and a loss of form means nothing.

I'm talking about players like vdv (who isn't confirmed as a rotation risk or injured) brum defenders (who have lost form but can be benched if necessary before gw33) bentley (who hasnt been getting points but should start twice in gw33 and has a good chance of scoring well at some point) torres (why sell him so close to the gw where he might go crazy?) nasri (who has been started whenever fit, i think) etc.

For me, i'd never sell these people. But i know i put too much emphasis on double game weeks, and am trying to adjust that mentality. Thats why i got 146 and 126 (or something similar) in the dgws, but was pretty TERRIBLE in many of the surrounding weeks.

    I'm very tempted to do:
    VDV -> Adam
    Saha -> Suarez (Dzeko?)

    Meh?

Not Meh. VdV, if you already have him, could be back soon, but Adam frees up cash, and is a good buy.

Saha > Suarez is good though.

I wasn't sure about getting VDV last week but I did anyways. But now he's sure to be rotated and I just feel that the money is better spent somewhere else. I'd never forgive myself if he starts and goes mental against Wigan though.
