Following on from the first in this series of three articles which analyse the new Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus Points System (BPS), we now switch attention to creativity and assess how the playmakers are benefiting.

In this article, I’ll examine which creative elements play a part, how influential they are in determining the bonus point awards and cast an eye over the most impressive performers across the last few Gameweeks.

With Lukas Podolski nearing a comeback, is anyone considering him anytime soon?

Better options at ARS for me but he's likely to make Giroud less of a sure thing.

Podolski will get less time than Giroud I reckon, but I wouldn't fancy either when they're both fit. Girouds main asset was being the only striker at Arsenal.

    Myhill (Boruc)
    Vidic baines wilson (dawson burner)
    michu eriksen ramsey barkley (brady)
    giroud lukaku suarez

Thinking of doing Brady >> januzaj on a FT
    - am afraid one if my attackers gets rested coupled with starting doubts in Wilson/Dawson
    - builds TV by 0.4m minimum
    - slightly biased as I m a utd fan

    Opinions?

"In 1988, Liverpool won the title by nine points, as did United in 2011. A year later both clubs relinquished their crown in agonising fashion, seeing the title snatched away with dramatic goals just seconds from the end of the final game of the season.

Then, 12 months on, both clubs regained the title by a clear margin, only to subsequently see their successful and extremely popular Scottish managers resign.

In 1991, Liverpool replaced Kenny Dalglish with another Scot, Graeme Souness, and the rot set in. The Reds have never truly recovered.

Now, 22 years later David Moyes is the Scot selected to replace a club legend.

Will he fare better than Souness? It won't be hard, but then whichever way you look at it, following Fergie was almost always going to be an impossible job."

I wonder if successful modern day football clubs can fall as spectacularly as Liverpool did in the early 90's. Is it still possible with the amount of money already at these established clubs (United)?

    repost due to overwhelming non-response:

went back and read FFS report on Amalfitano which didn't say much to indicate what he's been doing since arrival

looked at his transfer market page: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/morgan-amalfitano/leistungsdaten-detail/spieler_39883.html

seems like his career was progressing and peaking at Lorient, but then he moved to Marseille and the career stalled there the last few years

guessing he was under-utilized or asked to play more defensively at Marseille

    anyone else have more/better ideas?

        I do.

There's got to be some FFS members who watch French football, hasn't there?

Thanks for not leaving me hanging. Will try again during European daylight hours tomorrow, I suppose.

The numbers at Lorient looked promising to dovetail well with current performance.

*Going to be only on my iPhone after this post, so only checking the BSWC feed until I crash for the night. Cheers for the reply.

I don't have the stats, but I've seen some of the West Brom games, and Amilfitano looked fantastic. Seemed to be involved in quite alot of the attacks.

Been considering bringing him in as a cheap 4th midfielder once his fixtures start to ease up

"guessing he was under-utilized or asked to play more defensively at Marseille"
Yep, that's it in a nut shell. He is able to play flexibly in mid-field, and therefore was often asked to play defensively, but also has good experience as a winger, hence his amazing accuracy with crosses. He's a really interesting option at just over 5m

Options for my Nolan replacement this week - whatcha reckon?

    A) Barkley (5.5m)
    B) Arnie (5.5m)
    C) Amalfitano (5.1m)
    D) Hernandez (5.9m)
    E) Januzaj (4.7m)
    F) Keep Nolan and save the transfer

Have been mainly deciding between A) and F) all week, but have just taken a look at Amalfitano's stats and he dominates Barkley, plus he seems nailed on and leaves me enough cash to get Walcott next week if he's confirmed fit (I'd be 0.1m short if I get Barkley). I also have Baines and Mirallas as Everton cover.

    Boruc, Davis
    Baines, Terry, Zabaleta, Toure, Ward
    Michu, Ramsey, Mirallas, Nolan, Ravel
    Suarez, Sturridge, Giroud
    Bank 0.4m

I would say Barkley or Hernandez but seeing as you already have Michu and Mirallas there's no point doubling up in midfield. Amalfitano looks good but he has pretty bad fixtures I think unless he rotates with Ravel.

Yeah, missing out on Barkley is a bit annoying, but I guess you can't get them all.

Amalf's fixtures aren't great though, so perhaps the transfer can wait a week? Would you start Nolan/Ravel(MCY) over Amalf(sto) this week?

Has anyone looked at Villa defence at all? They have Spurs and Everton at home in the next two then they have a run of some very nice fixtures. Vlaar is currently 4.4 and Villa have 2 clean sheets in the last 3 games. Any takers? I'm looking for an ideal YMbiwa replacement (will likely stay on my bench for the next two weeks but I don't think I have any other urgent transfer needs).

          true story

          Berbilly pointed that one out

Also, Lambert's plan was always to bring in youngsters, take his lumps, and build a team from the ground up. He managed to sell the board of Villa on it, and it has paid some nice dividends to-date.

Since the 8-0 drubbing by Chelsea, the offense has come together. Think now the defense is showing signs of life. I'm willing to gamble Lambert knows what he's on about.

had extensive exchanges about Vlaar the last few days

check RMT feature in members area, and sort by defenders valued 5.0 or less over any time period (next 6 GWs, next 10 GWs, through GW38), interesting results at the top

not sure if Mark has put in data from GW7 into RMT yet or not, think so by now, but missed a lot of posts the last few days

    - I expect brady's price to drop by 0.2 by the team he returns
    - I expect januzaj's price to rise by 0.3 miinimum by sunday

So, on a FT..would you recommend this punt? have no other major team needs but conversely, its always good to have 2FT's next gw.

Just a quick RMT guys (its a little different)

I have Baines, Coleman and Barkley but I want Lukaku so need to sell a defender, I have 2FT's.

    HBA -> Silva
Coleman -> Rafael (major bandwagon potential)

-4pts. Alternatively I can stick with my current side and spend 1 transfer doing YMbiwa -> Vlaar and starting Barkley over HBA allowing 2FT's for next week.

      Migs
      Baines, Coleman, Mertisacker, YMbiwa, Clyne
      Eriksen, Michu, HBA, Ramsey, Barkley
      Rooney, Giroud(c), Sturridge

Why not just Rooney -> Lukaku and Coleman -> Terry for free? Bench HBA this week.

Out of your two options, I might actually choose the second one. Not keen on a hit that loses Rooney, and gains Silva - why Silva?

I'd prefer Rafael over Terry but the option is reasonable. It will mean starting 3 Everton players against Hull which is probably a good thing. Yes saving the hit there might be the best bet.

Move HBA along next week without taking a hit

With Rooney and Mirallas at least you have two differentials. If you do Rooney -. Lukaku and Mirallas -> Barkley/Oscar, you pretty much will have the template for the last few weeks. Wait a couple of weeks and see which players are the next "essentials"...

Has the Lukaku boat sailed though? I'd be wary of deliberately leaving out players because they have become template. It will be harder to get him in when he is 8.5 and still going strong.

But he's a donkey remember :D. Walcott will start to steal his goals when he returns and might prove better Arsenal coverage (if you believe in the term).

Walcott/Podolski/Santi returning could change a lot of things and I'm hoping it will give us the change of breaking the template and gaiing some ground on the Ramsey/giroud/Ozil owners.

Benteke seems the ideal replacement for Rooney owners tbh.. lets you keep Rooney for his 2 good fixtures and then swap him out for Benteke without worrying about price rises

But how can you ignore Lukaku. He is as good a prospect as Benteke this season. Benteke got 19 goals and 4 assists last season in 2,818 minutes (166 points). Lukaku got 17 goals and 7 assists in 2,005 minutes (159 points).

This season Lukaku plays in a far better team and i expect him to outscore Benteke. But at this price both will be essential imo and offer better value than Rooney.

Fair point. Lukaku does seem more explosive than Rooney at the moment.... My point about the template was referring to his whole team. If his whole team is template he won't be able to catch up.... It is def risky not having lukaku, but my point is if he keeps transfers in his pocket he can get any of the players that stand out in the next couple of gameweeks and get a step ahead.

That's my thinking.. Potentially good differentials too. Gotta say Eriksen is irritating me seeing him in there but i bought him for his run of fixtures so expecting a return over those. Wanna sell him for Barkley this week but i dont wanna kneejerk a player out every time he scores 2 points 🙂

not too sure on what exactly he said, but it came across in the media he doesn't think anyone not born in England should play for them? That would exclude sterling.... I think anyone that has citizenship should be allowed to represent any country they choose. Just look at the english cricket team

Thoughts on my team for GW 8
    Mig
    Merte Baines Clyne
    Paulinho Yaya Ramsey Barkley
    Giroud Sturridge Rooney

    Bench: Ruddy, Moses, Cameron, Shaw

I've used 2 of my free trades already
did HBA > Paulinho (needed spurs coverage and offers some good stats)
Collins > Clyne(incredibly cheap for a defense proving to be the strongest in the league right now

I am starting to seriously doubt Mertesacker's prospects, especially with the back-to-back tough fixtures he's got in GW10 and 11. The only defenses I like for now until January are Liverpool and Chelsea, and I already have cover from both. I'm likely to double up. Would you rather have

As a Moses owner, I was hoping there was a chance they would go back to 4-2-3-1 when GJ and Coutinho are back... judging by how well this formation seems to be working though, it doesn't seem likely. 4-4-2 seems pretty unlikely too since it doesn't do Coutinho justice.
