Breaking Down The BPS – Defending

Today brings a close to our series of articles that examine the new BPS system introduced to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) format this summer. Having focussed on Pass Completion and Creativity in the first two instalments, all that remains left to cover are the relevant defensive statistics.

When it comes to defensive actions, the FPL breaks down the awarding of BPS as follows…

For every 8 clearances, blocks and interceptions (total)
For every 8 recoveries
Making 3 successful tackles (net*)
*Net successful tackles is the total of all successful tackles minus any unsuccessful tackles. Players will not be awarded negative BPS points for this statistic.

Sky game captain question.

Ramsey is my captain tomorrow. On Sunday I will use my weekly captain change and move the armband to Paulinho.

Am I right in saying that I can still captain RvP for next Saturdays fixture by waiting until midnight next Friday night and then using up my weekly captain change to move it to him?

  Yes. You get Sat morning until first game to use that next week one, but then you can't change unless you transfer RVP out after.

I really feel for all the RVP owners... He's a player with so much class that is obviously still on form personally. His scores to date have been miserable, but you always get the feeling that a hattrick is just around the corner!

In all honesty though, United have been playing terribly and until they sort that out, he will never be the fantasy force that made him worth 14m.

Moyes had a record of starting slowly with Everton and he seems to have brought that to United. In my mind United won't start performing until they're really up against to odds (ala Everton) this will mean that they will probably end up just making the top 4 (as this will be the yardstick Moyes will be judged by and be patient about acheiving).

I think it will take a few more gameweeks before the switch from mediocre to excellent is made and thats when I will be jumping on RVP. but not before they prove that the switch has been made! Until then the strikers in teams with better form are just plain better. not just better value for money. but better points potential.
