And so it goes on. With Granville bemoaning a “reasonable” 58-point Gameweek, I slip further into the mire as my team of differentials, mis-placed punts and failed opportunities continue on their relentless decline.

Slowly but surely the roles are being reversed in our weekly chat – as I recall my latest errant transfer and Granville struggles to curb his smugness: he even talks about himself in the third person.

As I desperately clutch at straws and roll out some positive thinking, my co-host halts his stream of advice to analyse the week’s rolling bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures, whilst discussing the crunchy topics.

Join the counselling session via this link or stream the sorrow via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

As someone who plays FMLS, LA Galaxy do not have one single first team player starting, with the expection of Juninho who just got suspended...

And anyway, LA have long since qualified...

But still pretty impressive, even against a reserve team...

      Hey Kerfuffle

Having listened to Granville who has been spot on about Eriksen starting or not (and says he will)...

      Here's your choices

      a) fortune favors the bold. Spurs play in the last fixture time slot against a team starting their backup keeper. Stick with Eriksen.

      b) caution is the better part of valor. Spurs have so many midfielders, there's no way to know who will start whereas (again, per Scoutcast musings) Hazard seems to be nailed on when healthy.

HOH, you've nicely summed up he Eriksen headache. I think I'll stick on account of the fixture and the chance to assess the Che and Mci mids. I prob won't miss out on many pts even if I don't get Hazard/Silva this week.

Morning dzzz...not if and what transfer to make..Have 11ft and 3.4m...

    Boruc
    Vidic Baines Dawson (burner Wilson)
    Michu Ramsey januzaj eriksen (Barkley)
    Giroud Suarez Lukaku

    Issues:
-vidic and eriksen may not start...but have backup in burner and Barkley with decent fixtures
    - Wilson has lost his place..can upgrade him to Chico but will leave me with 4 big hitters in def..will waste anther another tranfer to downgrade vidic then..

    Solutions:
A: vidic + eriksen + Lukaku >> Chico + hazard + augero (-4 over the next two weeks)..depends on lukakus performance this weekend..do eriksen > hazard this and two transfers next gw

B: save FT and reassess next gw

    C: Wilson + eriksen + Lukaku >> Chico + hazard + benteke (-4 over the next two gw's)

The Wilson issue is greater then the eriksen issue as struggling to decide if I need to remove him and whether to replace him with Chico leaving me with 4x5m defenders till I downgrade vidic/Baines...or just do Wilson >> cheapie in a future when rest of my defenders have a bad week

Don't usually post my whole team, but right now I'm stumped.

    So this is my team:

    Mignolet (Lewis)
    Mert-Vidic-Coleman (Wilson, Turner)
    Michu-Oscar-Ozil-Barkley (R. Morrison)
    Sturridge- Rooney- Lukaku

    1.1m in the bank

I have 2 free transfer but no idea what to do with them even though I have lots of transfers I want done, most would be better suited next week. Vidic to Terry, Rooney to Benteke for example. Wilson needs to be gotten rid of. I'm also considering upgrading Mert and Coleman as they aren't bringing in the points. What would you do this week, to save me taking a hit doing 2/3 next week.

Wilson to MTurner (assuming you have B), conserves your money and gets a cheap defender with good fixtures coming

      or

      Vidic to Walker

Yeah I have Burner. Hadn't considered Murner cheers. Vidic to walker could be decent too.

      My thoughts:

      - STH defs needed
      - Borat needed with one STH def
      - Mert: ARS not doing cleenies
      - Vidic: crocked/rot/Moyes
      - mids look great
      - fwds look fine although I'd prefer to see Gru in there

I'd be booting Mert/Vidic to free up cash. Buy in Clyne and Borat.

Thanks for the help man. Mert has been a pain that way alright. Vidic is definitely going out though I want Terry in. Gru maybe. Rooney will be shipped out but I'm also tempted by Benteke.

Freeing up all that cash though who would you spend it on then?

Yeah happy enough with Sturridge for now but may have to consider Suarez. I ditched Aguero a while back to my detriment. 🙁 Will have to see if he keeps firing tough

Poyet's strategy with Sunderland, don't play the best players. Perhaps he can be fired by February?

"... there just has not been balance to the team. It might mean I drop players who are the best or the favourites."

      Well his logic is sound...

Those players that are considered to be the "best" are the ones that have their team sitting bottom of the league with a solitary point...

Makes sense to give some others a chance...

By playing the fringe/younger players, maybe his thought process is to artificially create competition for places in the team, thereby generating some more motivation and determination from the better players...

Whatever he does, it will be seen as an improvement... they only way is UP, BAAAABY! 😉

I think I understood what he was trying to say, but he said it poorly.

Sunderland keep hiring managers that put their feet in their mouths. As a player, I don't want to read this in the media. As a fan, I want to read that my best team is on the pitch. Don't know who that cares about Sunderland could be pleased by that sound bite.

    Leaning towards saving my FT

    Boruc
Dawson • Vidic* • Baines (burner wilson)
Michu • Ramsey • Januzaj • Eriksen* (barkley)
    Giroud • Suarez • Lukaku

    * = doubtful starts.....have backup in burner and barkley if vidic/eriksen dont play

Only fear is that other players like ramsey/januzaj also dont play....do eriksen >> hazard?

      On the Eriksen/Hazard question

      Here's your choices

      a) fortune favors the bold. Spurs play in the last fixture time slot against a team starting their backup keeper. Stick with Eriksen.

      b) caution is the better part of valor. Spurs have so many midfielders, there's no way to know who will start whereas (again, per Scoutcast musings) Hazard seems to be nailed on when healthy.

On Vidic, stick or go for Kompany next week.
