As always, we cast our eye over the statistics across the previous round of matches to highlight some of the stand-out performers. Chelsea’s change of formation bodes well for their midfield veteran, United’s former Toffee provides chances aplenty, Villa’s misfiring frontman still has reason for optimism, while Liverpool’s young full-back delivers a tenacious display in the Merseyside derby:
Any ideas anyone ? 2 FT's, 0.5 in bank.
Boruc - Given
Terry - Coleman - A.Williams - Turner - Rosenoir
Oscar - Gerrard - Rambo - Morisson - Januzaj
Benteke - Aguero - Suarez
Maybe downgrade Januzaj and upgrade Boruc ??Open Controls😕 Has AVB been handed the black spot? 🙁

I will be stunned if they sack AVB.
They may be in a slump goal scoring wise and yes City was embarrassing but City embarrassed United last season too.
Spurs have been mostly very solid at the back or at least have had a decent defensive record. Attacking they do fall down but look at it this way, they are 4 points off Pool and Chelsea, they have a lot of depth in midfield and defensive options, they have Eriksen, Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho, Dembele, Capoue, Siggy among numerous others. While Eriksen is now injured and Lamela and Soldado have failed to hit form as of yet they are still in a great position imo. Once they find a little consistency and things start to click a bit better they could be on for a great season. It would be a mistake to lose AVB now.Open ControlsHis problem is Soldado, who is starting to look like a crapper.
Open ControlsVery possibly is. I have a feeling he had hoped that Eriksen and possibly Chadli would provide a bit of pace and do the hard work for Soldado to finish it off. Lamela could be the other significant threat from the wing. Possibly why he wanted Paulinho, a central mid to make deep runs and set up attacks, unfortunately he prefers to shoot. It's a difficult area, I think he hoped Lamela to light up sooner than would be reasonable to anticipate...
Open ControlsHim and Townsend. And it is not surprising. Soldado couldn't finish his supper.
Open ControlsHe's not had a good run. What I don't fully get is the absolute reluctance to play 2 up top for a while, I think it would give them a much greater presence.
Open ControlsDid you watch MNF last night when they showed Soldado's lack of making runs. Shocking !
Open ControlsI did, indeed.
Open Controls
Agree, I may be gauging AVB completely wrong but a guy doesn't bring in all those types of players without having some sort of strategy. It just has yet to fully come together.
Open Controls
I think Chiriches and Vertonghen will have to go forward as the main central defensive pairing. The two best center backs in the squad.
Dembele should be playing.. not sure why he's being left out, really.
Soldado needs to sort himself out and start moving a bit, and Spurs need to get somebody closer to him in open play.Open ControlsBut who will play LB? Its ridiculous that they have such squad depth in all positions that only Vertonghen can really play there.
Open ControlsWell, we all know what I think ... 😉
Open ControlsRose when he returns.
I hate having Vert out there, decent going forward but he really does cost a lot of chances when he plays there.
Not his fault, as he's a natural center back - but he doesn't have the turn of pace needed to react to certain situations.Open ControlsAh of course silly me. Rose better get back soon then.
Open Controls
Agree. And AVB has said Danny Rose will be back soon so he'd just slot in at LB. Nervous times for Dawson owners
Open ControlsI've got 2 Southampton defenders, I reckon I need to sort that 1st.would then possibly have more to spend for a midfield upgrade but I would be-4...
Open ControlsDawson is a good Premier League player, and I don't have a vendetta against him.
He's just not mobile enough to operate as a really top center back, whereas Chiriches looks to be a great talent.Open Controls
All of this I agree with. I certainly agree with getting someone closer to Soldado. Either you play someone closer and let Soldado score or you get Soldado to hold it up and lay it off to the midfield when they're actually able to shoot. I have a feeling the hope was Lamela would be benefiting from that sort of play.
As of now, it isn't working and perhaps moving to 2 up top may alleviate some of the pressure.Open ControlsI think it should be Lamela given the role just off of him. He seems quite suited to it if given the chance to adapt.
I wouldn't completely rule out Townsend either, if he can stop shooting the whole time and break effectively he could prove to be a very good attacking player.Open Controls
Also baffled Assou Ekotto was left out on loan.. I know he's not great but c'mon!
Open ControlsPossibly his attitude? I think he's very much so a "I'm only in this for the money and I don't want to get chummy with anyone" type of guy. I think I recall him saying he only had Taarabt's phone number and one of his team-mate's, doesn't socialise with them or anything from the interview I read. Granted it was a few years ago...
Open ControlsThat is tabloid rubbish. 🙂
Open Controls
He IS great!!! 😀
Open Controls
But do the players believe in AVB? It doesn't seem to be the case with the recent flurry of frustrated quotes from a few of them.
Open ControlsOf course that is possibly his failing. Lamela frustrated by numerous things, Soldado frustrated (although he has himself to blame in some regards), Vert frustrated by not playing his usual position. Sometimes though you go through these points before it begins to click, it'd be a shame if they didn't see it out.

Is Sturridge to Suarez the right move or do I have more pressing concerns e.g Siggy, Coleman?Open ControlsColeman is fine, Siggy needs to go, but getting Suarez is important as well. IMO since you have Studge replace Sig this week and either take a hit for Suarez or wait a week
Open ControlsProblem is I can't afford to upgrade Siggy to Nasri/Oscar and then afford to get Suarez next week.
Open Controls
Ooh, just realised I can do Baines & Boruc to Terry & Cech! Is that too much? Doesn't leave anything to upgrade Townsend unfortunately!

So the only way Arsenal can be eliminated is if Napoli win by 3 vs. them?
Open ControlsDon't think so. 3-way GD will come into play if I'm not wrong.
Open ControlsBased on 3 way goal difference and the fact that Bayern are not playing one of the three in their final match we need to avoid losing by 3 goals to go through.
Open ControlsJust checked, that sounds right then. Dortmund btw.
Napoli on -1 and Arsenal on +5Open Controlsyup
Open Controls
Head to Head comes first though doesn't it? Arsenal won 2-0 vs. Napoli at the Emirates
Open ControlsIf Dortmund win too, then 3 teams are on 12 points. So H2H goes out of the window I think and GD comes into play.
Again I'm not sure if its H2H GD between the 3 teams or overall GD.Open ControlsH2H GD
Open ControlsSo we only need 1 goal to top the group? The reason i'm complicated is beacuse I seen a reputable Arsenal twitter account saying it's unlikely Arsenal would top the group. If they draw though I don't see how they wouldn't top it? That strikes me as very likely!
Open ControlsHere's the explanation
http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/championsleague/id/543?cc=5901
It's exceptionally close and the group is still on track for an amazing three-way 12-point tie at the top. Arsenal and Dortmund are very strong favourites to go through though. Arsenal only need to avoid defeat to Napoli by three or more goals to guarantee their place, while Napoli will go through if they better Dortmund's result. However, if both Napoli and Dortmund win then we have three teams on 12 points and a mini-league is created just involving the results of those teams. In that scenario Dortmund are guaranteed to qualify, as their mini-league goal difference is +1 and cannot change; Arsenal have +2 and Napoli -3. Because of this Napoli can only qualify from the mini-league if they beat Arsenal by three goals, which would dump the Gunners into the Europa League.Open Controls
Plane aborts landing, not a crash landing! 😉
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25115029Open Controlsdoes anyone fancy jon flanagan in their team for a few weeks? got some favourable fixtures and moyes must have faith picking him over cissokho and sakho for the merseyside derby?
Open ControlsI'd prefer if Moyes sorted out his own defensive situation before telling Liverpool what to do too.
Open ControlsAgreed! He should keep his nose out, IMO...
Open Controls
Wait until the ManUtd press conference. Moyes might tell us more then.
Open ControlsI hope Moyes picks Joe Allan again at the weekend. Think he is a fan of his, tbh.
Open Controls
Only if Liverpool play "Underneath the arches ..." 😉

Open ControlsSnoddy and Pilk out for Norwich. Really fear for Chris Hughton and his troops now! Load up on defenders who are playing Norwich, IMO....

Open ControlsDon't talk to him. He convinced me to buy Adrian as a backup keeper. I still have him but he's at a useless price now!
Open ControlsHaha ... the old "Adrian Incident" of August, what a disgusting prospect! He had me interested for a while also, I'll admit!
Open Controls
Yes, OK, thanks - You? 🙂
Open ControlsAlways good thanks mate ... I must apologise for inactivity of recent. My FPL results reflect my lack of time analysing the ins and outs on here. Horrible start to the season!
Team goes well??Open Controls
What is happening with K.Toure? Would rather transfer him out if his price is going to drop but if he is nailed on, I will keep as I have more pending transfers I could make. Team for next week looks decent enough providing they play. Open to any suggestions to improve it with 1FT and 1.8 in the bank.

From OR 100 000 to 650 000 in two weeks. It all got topped when i racked the amazing score of 38 pts this gw. Much thanks to my wise Benteke captaincy, and my transfer Snodgrass.
Feeling its nothing to lose now, so did some irrational transfers: Baines, Snodgrass and Brady out, Mertesacker, Oscar and Ravel in. Does it seem alright?
My team will now be
Cech (Boruc)
Cole Murner Merte (Lovren, Williams)
Oscar Ravel Ramsey Nasri (Jedinak)
Benteke Suarez Studge
How would you plan coming transfers with this pile of junk?Open ControlsCole > Gabiddon

Baines > Coleman
Wilson > Rangel
Clyne > Terry
Ridgewell could be back for Brom's nice run of fixtures and Yanga-Mbiwa is guaranteed game-time in an in-form Newcastle team with good fixtures so I'd stick.
Possibly look at shifting Adrian > Mignolet or KrulOpen ControlsWell Gabbidon under new, defensively orientated management is worth a look 🙂 Baines to Merte or Terry. In fact you possibly could afford Merte and Terry... Then I would be a jealous camper 😉
Open ControlsTerry will not be in my team. 🙂
Open ControlsI dispise the man as a human being also ... but can't argue with his nailed-on-ness and ability to score headers from set pieces. Now that Chelsea are settling I can see him keeping cleanies every second game too.
Open Controls
I'd go for Terry, Clyne, Coleman & Johnson
Open ControlsChiriches, Doos.. 5+ PPG and instantly became twice the player by not playing in Spurs 6-0 defeat!
Just dropped to 5.2m.Open ControlsI am looking at him, I admit. I worry that I am replicating past mistakes, though!
Open Controls
Best way to fit in AGUERO??
Boruc
Toure Ivanovic Clyne (Chester Baker)
Ozil Oscar Ramsey Brady
Benteke Rooney Suarez
2FT 1.8m ITB!
A) Rooney and Toure ---> Aguero and Mert
B) Benteke and Rooney ---> Aguero and Lukaku
C) Benteke and Ivanovic ---> Aguero and 5.0m Def
D) Benteke and Oscar ----> Aguero and MirallasOpen ControlsC or D ... keep Rooney!!

I have exactly 8.1m to spend upgrading Barkley.
What's everyone's thoughts on Navas?
City have two great fixtures and I'm sure he will start next week after his performance on Sunday. Of course he's not likely to replicate his recent points haul, but with the way City are scoring at the moment he should be good for a few assists and goals. Should of had at least 3 assists on Sun!
May just take a punt as there is a lack of midfield options under 8.1 (- Ramsey)Open ControlsI'm keeping faith in Nasri. The stats are there.
Open ControlsNearly brought in Nasri last week, and was planning to this week. But now I have faith in Jesus.
Open ControlsId be very surprised if navas scored another 2goals this season tbh. Never scored much in Spain? With Negredo and aguero up front he might get some assists. If he plays..
Open Controls
Glen Johnson nailed on? Have no idea what is going with LIV's back line. One week they're all centre backs, the next they're all injured.
