Roberto Mancini has confirmed that Carlos Tevez has sustained a torn hamstring in tonight’s Premier League clash with Liverpool, a setback that seems almost certain to rule him out for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final. City’s talismanic striker was forced from the field after just 15 minutes of the Anfield clash which City lost 3-0.

The full extent of the injury are not yet known but the Mancini did confirm a tear, stating that Tevez would seem unlikely to make Saturday’s Cup date with United…

“I think that it is very difficult for Saturday”

When asked whether the injury was likely to rule Tevez out for the rest of the season, Mancini appeared to be more optimistic…

“No, no, no. I don’t think so.”

Tevez would seem likely to undergo a scan on the injury in the next 24-hours and we can expect a prognosis soonafter.

With City facing a gameweek 33 blank, followed by a tough trip to Ewood Park, Fantasy Managers seem set to sell on the Argentine in their droves – over 200,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have transferred Tevez out of their squads since gameweek 31.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Wow, Djourou down to 4.0. He's a real bargain if he's fit for the Liverpool game.

Well that's Mereiles staying a few wereks longer, just wish he wasn't on my bench... Oh well despite my two from Tevez and Kolarov still a decent week finishing on 72.

At least Tevez's injury makes the decision for my tranfer this week fairly easy. Tevez -> Drogba barring any injuries tommorow. Shame about the price drop though.

    hey guys, some advice please

    Foster Begovic
Bardsley Baines R Johnson Kolarov Simpson
    Nasri Nani Downing Adam Thomas
    Rooney Drogba VanPersie

Looking to get Malouda in this week (have 2 trades) not sure who to drop from the mids.

Kolarov -> Anyone to fund the move
    Downing or Nasri -> Malouda

Malouda is a massive gamble that might not be worth it,this double gw might not be profitable. Imo gw 34 is the one to go all out for,a bunch of mid to bottom table teams hacking at each other should be good fantasy-wise

The tough part about him, and any of the midfielders except for maybe Ramires, they could all have the same amount of minutes at the end of the 180.

      Kolarov to Luiz

i have Downing as u can see...he has been a consistent performer. Thomas would have been the move...but idoubt u have hat kind of cah lying around.

Atleast u have Drogba as coverage...and honestly dont see Chelsa whipping anyone by a large margin.

Downing looks like the man to go....unfortunately!

Anyone thinking of taking a punt on Benayoun? I think he looked very sharp, and him and or Torres playing low minutes against United might make me feel a bit better of giving Torres a go in the DGW. I think Ancelloti will try to keep them both on the field together:

"Benayoun knows Torres better than anyone at Chelsea having been the striker's room-mate on away trips with Liverpool for three years, and he is confident the wait for the Spaniard's first goal will soon be over."

"The manager announced after the game that both players are in condition to begin Tuesday's game at Old Trafford if required and Benayoun agrees he could play a part in a game the midfielder believes could Chelsea must win to save the season."

in terms of chelsea? I just think Kalou, Malouda, Anelka (if they do 4-3-3) and Essien are all preferred wingers.

I'm thinking we'll never see that trio again. As a former malouda owner, we never really saw that line-up all year anyway. For a good portion Malouda and Kalou were playing the same position, or in other words inter-changed for one another. Not a fan of the football IQ/sharing of Monsieur Excentrique and Kalou, futbol cancer.

If you have some very big cahones then could be an absolutely brilliant call. For a cheapish price you could be buying yourself into Chelsea DGW midfield, and someone who as you said may well provide 2 or 3 assists if him and Torres can click again.

Could be a very nice differential for you. I don't have the balls to make such a bold move, but if you could face 1 point for playing 20 minutes at the a*** end of the brum game if it doesnt fall for you then go for it.

Yeah if I were in a position of having two choices they would be my two. To be honest Benayoun looked like he was on speed, And I saw what I needed to see in Torres to know he hasn't diminished. I'll probably go with Torres after the CL match of course. If fat frank would just stay in the hole enough to send some proper service...and stay healthy. (knock on wood)

Kuyt is actually tracking back a lot more than he has the past 2-3 GW's, like he did when Kelly and Johnson initially made their LB/RB swap. This was when Meireles was getting forward loads and eating off of Kuyts defense to offense counter/build-ups. Soon as I got Raul, Kenny throws Dirk up front...enter Kuyt goal bonanza, hence my frusration/bitterness/haterade directed at the poor Oranje.

    WC time
I've been saving it up for moments like these and having gone 41 points behind the leader in my fiercely competitive mates league (I've been on top all season until I shipped in Tevez and Berbatov for their shit patch), I'm glad I still have it

    So, here's my team now

    Foster (Begovic)
    RJohnson Baines Luiz (Huth,Simpson)
    Nani vdv Adam Downing (NZogbia)
    Hernandez Suarez Rvp(c)

Here's what I can do with current funds and with a view to also having 5 DGW players for gw34 (with 4 point hit next wk)

    Foster (Begovic)
    RJohnson Luiz Baines (BAIRD,Huth)
    Nani Adam LAMPARD FABREGAS WILSHERE
    rvp(c) HOLIETT (STURRIDGE)

    7 dgw players for gw33
    then
    holliet to zamora
    and
baines to GCahill for 6 dgw players or baines to walker (4 pointer required for funds)

down the track I have various permutations for lamps and fulham players out for spurs and city or carroll etc.

I need a real DGW blitz kreig to catch my gloating mate so help me dudes

Hmm, you're better than me. You're right though, they do love him. Maybe it's the way it always looks like he's working hard...

I call it the 'ginobili factor' The way his hair flopped around you just knew he was getting fouled...but as he goes more and more bald, his ability to fool the referees has gone down exponentially. Just take a look at all the players in the NBA with the side-how Bob hair style...it's designed to flop around.

So much for waiting on transfers.
Should have done the Tevez to Bent transfer alone early and waited until midweek games for the VDV to Lampard transfer.

Now can't afford it.So if Lampard has to come in,its Nani out:(

Had a below average week. Carrying so many injured players it's not funny anymore.

Toyed with giving the armband to RVP too. Hindsight is indeed a beautiful thing. Ahh well roll on next gameweek eh?

FLP may yet tinker with Nani's assist. It's been done before I'm told.

hmm yeh hindsight is great, lamps could have had a cple, didnt look great though, that scuffed shot and couple half chances.

            rvp has been very good...

i hope they do, cause its joke, plus my main rival had him as captain.

what your transfer plans this week?

            im thinking vdv+fab out

            adam+lamps in

fabs looked good on weekend, our game v spurs always has goals so it could be good.

or do i dare ditch nani for lamps and have both?

Wouldn't ditch Nani. You'd only want to bring him back in later.

RVP is still looking good. Giving him the armband wasn't a huge risk, but there you go.

The trasnfers you suggest give you good points exposure. Nothing controversial about those ideas.

For some reason I'm reluctant to kick out VDV. At the moment anyway. Post S*urs DGW things might well change.

Possibly making two transfers. Nasri out Walcott in. I know it's something of a sideways move, but it'll free up some £££. Need to kick out Tevez. Not sure yet who for. Ideas?

Bojan - here are the FPL assis rules -

          Assists
These are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team who makes the last pass before a goal is scored.

If during this pass, an opposing player significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given except if this intervention directly results in an own goal.

The key word you need to consider is SIGNIFICANTLY. Hughes certainly got a touch on the ball, but did not significantly alter direction or speed, the cross was heading for Tony V's napper, after the deflection it still landed on Tony V's napper.

I am a Nani owner with a vested interest, and did fear that he might not get the assist, but by their really quite specific rules, the assist was good.

Not sure, I think tomorrow will be a turning point. He has to start tightening the rotation sooner than later. I will be disappointed to see Anelka play the next three matches. It's gotta be the 4-3-3 with Malouda up with Drogs and Torres.

Chelsea go out of the CL tomorrow and it would not surprise me in the slightest if it were to be both Drogba & Lampard's last game in a Chelsea shirt. (both are gone in the summer)

With an eye on next season, Torres would start all the remaining games IMO and plenty of mid-field options now available instead of Lumpy.

Damn, it's between Malouda, Drogs and Torres for attackers atm...If Abramovich still has a 50M pound hardon for Torres I'd transfer him in. He's gotta do somethin here soon and would be guaranteed both games

Gonna do Coleman->Terry and Zigic->DJ Campbell but only have .1 to spare with those trades at the moment!

Yup. Plan atm is Nasri > Walters.

That 0.1% ownership is awesome as a differential, but he'll probably be bench fodder the rest of the season since I'm looking at getting Carroll too.

I agree, Nasri is going for me in gw 34. Was thinking Jarvis/ohara but after seeing their perormance this weekend, Im worried.Wolves have no fit strikers up front.

Im thinking Dempsey maybe. Or maybe Zamora + ? midfielder? Sturridge + Dempsey will prob be a safer bet since bolton still need to play Blackpool.

You have done 2 early trades? Tevez I assume.

I want Adam in for his next three games, but who to get rid of from:

    Nasri - Lampard - A Young - VDV - Nani

I'm thinking VDV from those 5, but Nani doesn't exactly have great fixtures till the end either.

    Thoughts?

First thought was VDV as there isn't much form at present. But then Nani has harder fixtures and might be prone to rotation.

      Tricky. Probably VDV right now.

I don't know whether Tottenham getting knocked out of the CL would have a positive or negative effect on VDV, one half of me says its good, because they'll focus on getting into Europe next year through doing well in the league, the other half says he'll be de-motivated, playing for a team out of Europe.

I've had Nani since pretty much the beginning, but I'm considering it. Gonna wait and see what its like after the CL games.

I have same problem. VDV/Young for me. I just know VDV is going to hit form once I sell him. Young has better fisxtures.Nasri could have scored a couple vs Blackpool.

Soooo...Prob VDV for now. Nasri will go in gw 34. Them prob Lamps to get Modric/VDV back. Nani I will keep till the end.

I think Nani is somewhat prone to rotation, inze. The longer UTD stay in the CL, then this threat remains.

VDV might be out of sorts but he's the sort of player that can bring in big pts hauls just like that.

Need to swap that waster Lennon for someone 7.9 or below. Recommendation?

Bill C - True about Nani. I also don't like where Young is playing. He is the most frustrating player ever. Always moans about tackles and often gets yellows.

Problem is my mini league leader has Nani/Rooney(and will till the end) so I need to get Roonpig and Im not keen on selling Nani. He does not have Young - Downing/Meireles have saved his bacon week in week out.

Vital I get my decision right.
