With the frantic festive period now behind us, we can finally take stock and assess the statistics over the last few matches. Having last looked at the data in Gameweek 17, we have three sets of matches to investigate – Arsenal’s midfield, Tottenham’s attack and United and City’s frontmen are all placed under the microscope this time around:
Everybody but me probably knew this..but it's pretty cool when in transfers that you can click the shirt and the transfers filter updates to that position..
..what would be cooler is if you clicked a second time it switched to that club specifically..Open ControlsMany people are weighing the options of Adam Lallana, Christian Eriksen and Yohan Cabaye, so here is some information to help give you a sense of who to pick.
Here are the Player Dashboards of Lallana, Eriksen and Cabaye.
Eriksen: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/695095/player-stats/80607/OVERALL_02#tabs-wrapper-anchor
Cabaye: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/695100/player-stats/27341/OVERALL_02#tabs-wrapper-anchor
Lallana: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/695096/player-stats/39155/OVERALL_02#tabs-wrapper-anchor
-For those of you who can't look at a link right now, I will try to break it down.
Eriksen: The Dane was a bit lazy in this game and had less movement than in his last three games but he still created a fair amount of chances while working the flanks. Different from last game was that Eriksen on a few occasions charged forward into the box on a breakaway which resulted in a goal and an assist.
Cabaye: Cabaye had a great deal of movement all over the pitch although unfortunately mostly in the defensive half due to a Debuchy red card leaving Newcastle with just ten men and forcing him to drop back and defend. Cabaye who usually takes a large amount of shots was a bit more reserved and was limited to just four shots taken and just one on goal.
Lallana: Lallana as well did not have much movement in a game that was primarily dominated by a sharp looking Chelsea side. He did create a few chances on the left flank and had two shots blocked inside the box, but aside from that he did very little to impact down the center and right of the pitch. Lallana's disappearance in the Chelsea fixture may be attributed to strength of the opponent and he usually figures to be involved when Southampton score.
In the last four games...
Eriksen was involved in 3 of his team's 9 goals
Cabaye was involved in 2 of his team's 8 goals
Lallana was involved in 4 of his team's 6 goals
PPG over the season - Eriksen 1.91, Cabaye: 1.82, Lallana, 1.35
-Lallana who has the highest ownership of the three at 22.5% is 7.3 which is 0.2 more than Cabaye at 18.1% and Eriksen at 2.5%
I hope now you all have a better idea of who you are going for. I got Eriksen two weeks ago and I am still confident in his abilities over the others especially with him still being a differential at such a low ownership. Adam Lallana looks like a very safe pick as well and is sure to be a consistent source of points but isn't really a differential due to his somewhat high ownership but he should figure to be involved in most of the Southampton goals going forward as he has been for the first half of the season. Yohan Cabaye is the one least recommend of the bunch. While he does take a good amount of shots per game he is not very often involved in Newcastle's attack unless he is scoring the goals himself. He is still a good pick but with a decently high ownership he can no longer be considered a differential and like his teammate Hatem Ben Arfa he could become another failed bandwagon/flash in the pan.
Hope this helps guys and good luck!Open ControlsGood post. I think you're under-valuing the quality of Cabaye's final balls and shots compared to Lallana though. I agree Eriksen is probably the best
Open ControlsSo to sum up, all three are bad options.
Open ControlsThanks a lot,I had the choice to pick one of the three and went for Lallana myself!
Open ControlsLallana will likely continue to churn out the points in medium sized while Eriksen and Cabaye are a little more explosive and could deliver big any given GW although I think Eriksen could become even more involved in the Spurs attack judging by the ManU-Spurs game. Good pick however, I think there's a very little chance it will backfire on you and a very good chance you will be fruitful
Open Controls
Good read and it deserves an upvote.
i have Cabaye and although he's similarly priced with Eriksen, i agree that the TOT guy is a better player to own in FPL. My selling price for Cabaye is 6.8, though 🙁Open ControlsThat is a predicament but I don't think I would take a hit to bring in Eriksen for Cabaye this GW though. Maybe keep Cabaye and if some money appears during your transfers this week or during your Wildcard get Eriksen in then
Open Controls
Eriksen is involved in direct Free kicks
Lallana is inlolved in direct free kicks and takes corners
Cabaye is involved in direct free kicks, takes corners and is on pensOpen Controlscabaye isnt on pens...hba, remy and even cisse took pens whilst kebab has been on the pitch
Open ControlsI think it was a shake up to wake up those guys up.
Open ControlsRemy took the Pen on his own and after the match Pardew was fuming about it, HBA and Cisse were allowed to take it as GTS said "to wake those guys up" and after the game Pardew declared that Cabaye is in fact the man who will take Newcastle's Penalties
Open Controls
Wow thanks! Who takes corners for Spurs if Erikson doesn't take them? And Cabaye hasn't taken the last few pens for Newcastle too which muddies the waters a bit.
If Tiote and Anita play, or if Newcastle play two up front then Cabaye directly supports the strikers which makes him the best pick imo. If he plays deeper with Tiote then I think Erikson and Lallana edges him out... So very hard to pick between them!Open ControlsI believe Siggy/Holtby/Walker/Eriksen share a piece of the corners but most are taken by Holtby when he's playing, when he isn't I think its mostly siggy/walker and sometimes eriksen
Open Controls
Could someone in the mods dept. sticky this up?
Good read and helpful.Open ControlsCheers
Open Controls
don't see how cabaye would be a worst pick than Lallana if his PPG is higher regardless of how involved he is in terms of goals scored by the team. Surely the fact that he creates goals for himself is a plus point.

- Wildcard Rotations
Posted this earlier. Long post alert! I've posted a lot of this information separately before the WC can be used so now that the WC is available I've grouped it all together in one long post. Headings are in caps so you can just read the information you want instead of reading it all. I'm aware this is REALLY long but I'm sure it will be helpful to some people, especially those early wildcarders. If you're not interested please just scroll down, this has taken me a lot of time 🙂

Open Controlsthanks for this, i need three cheap defenders with average price of 3.9 (total 11.7). will come back to this tomorrow
Open ControlsCheapest is 12.2 according to this post. Maybe Chester, Baker & Whittaker for you but don't think they'll rotate well.

Open ControlsZabaleta to Nastasic would be my choice from your team
Open Controls
This - Aguero is the big miss from your team imo
Open Controls
Don't get Migs. Trust me as someone who owned him from GW4. Pool have a poor cleansheet record this season. Much better value to be had elsewhere.
Open ControlsThey will only get better mate, specially with majority of their tough away fixtures done and dusted. We've been bad defending set pieces but thats something that can be solved. I really do think that we will tighten up more in the second half.
There are only three teams with a better defensive record than us in the first half.Open Controls
Ozil or Yaya longterm?
Open ControlsOzzie!
Open Controlssuch a lack of Yaya love here. thanks guys i hope your'e rite, im not a big fan of ozil but im gonna take your advice
Open ControlsYaya's a decent pick if you got him early. I just think that with Silva/Aguero to come back he may not continue on his recent run and Ozil may work out better in the long run.
Open Controls
You know what's worse than all these identical RMWCTs? I compared my team to the world #1:
Him
Krul Harper
Coleman Merte Chico Gabiddon Baker
Walcott Hazard Silva Cabaye Sterling
Suarez Rooney Negredo
0.4M itb
1406 pts (#1)
Me
Marshall Davis
Coleman Kompany Gabiddon Chester MTurner
Walcott Hazard Silva Puncheon Sterling
Suarez Rooney Lukaku
0.0 itb
1104 pts (#550k)
If we both keep our cores of Coleman, Hazard, Silva, Walcott, Sterling, Suarez, Rooney intact, here is what our differences boil down to:
Krul Harper
Merte Chico Baker
Cabaye
Negredo
0.4M itb
Marshall Davis
Kompany Chester MTurner
Puncheon
Lukaku
0.0 itb
So even though Theo and friends finally got me some momentum in the past 6-7 weeks, I might not even keep them if everyone else gets them in. He's now owned by over 400k people as Ramsey and Ozil's injuries have made it simple to decide what to do with ARS midfield.
Might spend the month figuring out an all differentials WC. Ugh.Open ControlsNot really following the Southampton striker situation but seems like JRod is nailed on, but what's happening with Lambert? Does he just get the odd rest or seems surplus to the starting 11 this season?
Open ControlsI'm considering playing the wildcard tomorrow. Here is what my team may end up looking like:
Marshall, Mannone
Koscielny, Gabbidon, Turner, Baker, Chester
Ozil, Silva, Walcott, Sterling, Mutch
Suarez, Rooney, Negredo
£2.4 in the bank to upgrade Negredo to Aguero.
I started 3 GW late so my total money is not comparable to a few of you guys.Open ControlsEspecially if Walcott is already there too.
Open ControlsOscar?
Open ControlsYou'd go Oscar over Ozil?
Ozil seems like he's at an incredible value right now.Open ControlsI'd certainly consider him for Chelsea cover over having Walcott and Ozil. especially with Ozzie just returning from injury.
Open ControlsI don't think a shoulder injury will impede Ozil from being one of the best mids in the game.
I guess I'm just not seeing the value of spreading players by very different teams. Arsenal has proven to be more than consistent; versus Chelsea parking the bus a few games. I'd consider Chelsea the bigger threat of having offensive talent blank. Ozil is far and away better than Oscar (and Hazard) at PPG.
What's the thinking on spreading coverage across multiple teams?Open ControlsMaybe a personal thing. And I'm not saying Ozils a bad pick. I just prefer to spread coverage for BPS and to cover difficult fixture weeks. For me, Ozil and Walcott is a too much Arsenal midfield. In the same way as i wouldnt do Hazard and Oscar or Silva and Yaya. But with Walcott being pushed further forward I can see the attraction.
Open ControlsCheers! I see what you're saying.
I have a bit of a personal bias as well against Hazard and towards Ozil; as they are great differentials in my current ML. Granted, the WC is going to drastically alter all our leagues this month.Open ControlsHey, no problems. I hope it works out! And Oscar and Ozil rack em up from here till then of the season!
Open Controls
Keep ozil
Open Controls
Don't like the Sterling pick. Just one of those bandwagons that will bear very little fruit and end up having to waste another transfer getting him out once Sturridge is fit.
Would prefer Hazard in over Ozil, and even HBA is a better punt that Sterling personally. Eventually might consider Rooney > Giroud/Sturridge and Negredo to Aguero.Open Controlsur defence is quite poor as baker may not be nailed..i will go all out by selling marshall and ozil->gerrard to give urself arnd 1.6m more to upgrade sterling...
Open ControlsI don't plan to run with more than 3 defenders on any given GW.
Koscielny +2 rotating players is the plan.
They're poor; but they rotate well.
The exception is Baker; who is just cheap and has been a fair pick all year for me to step in off the bench.Open Controlsyeah i myself did a 3man rotation for chester ward turner..so i believe about rotating cheap defenders..do have a plan if baker end up benched..celustka at 4.2 may be a decent option
Open Controls
Not too many big choices while wildcarding this time around. Just pick:
3 out of Silva, Yaya, Ozil, Walcott, Hazard, Oscar, Gerrard
1 out of Lallana, Eriksen, Cabaye
2 out of Rooney, Adebayor, Negredo, Lukaku
Suarez
5th mid and defense to be filled depending on remaining budget.Open ControlsSilva Walcott hazard
Erikson
Rooney SuarezOpen Controlsif you're talking about you're personal constraints then i agree with Jonny
Open Controls
4 from the top for me
Open ControlsAt least a bit more thinking to do than getting the Power 5 midfield. Remember Michu? And Fellaini ? 😆
Open Controls
Am i completely mad?
Mannone (Gazzinga)
Baker, Coleman, Turner (Gabbidon, Chester)
Ozil, Eriksen, Silva, Hazard, Walcott
Rooney(Will change to Aguero when back), Suarez (Berahino)Open ControlsChange Gazzinga to someone who plays...Davies?
Defence is very cheap.
Downgrade Ozil (him and Walcott are a little too extravagant for me in that team).
Then look to upgrade defence.Open ControlsNP
Open Controls
as much as i like cheap def i will only play 1 out of 3 promotion team..plus baker may not be nailed..if u get coleman late i will recommend selling to distin and upgrade baker->evans or spread the wealth to get in sunderland/swans/westham defenders as they have decent fixtures..otherwise the team looks great
Open ControlsAren't all the West Ham defenders injured?
Open Controls
Wildcard team:
Marshall - (Speroni)
Koscielny - Coleman - Evans - (Chester) - (Baker)
Silva - Walcott - Hazard - Lallana - (Noone)
Rooney - Adebayor - Suarez
0.6 in the bank to upgrade Rooney to Aguero.

I have my (5-team) draft league’s mid-season re-draft coming up on Sunday, and I’m putting together my master player rankings.
I’m currently 1st place, giving me the 5th/6th/15th/16th/etc. picks of the snake draft. Given the ~100m FPL budget, value per point is also a major consideration.
My current top 35 is:
1 Suarez
2 Aguero
3 Walcott
4 Hazard
5 Rooney
6 Lukaku
7 Silva
8 Ozil
9 Van Persie
10 Negredo
11 Yaya
12 Ramsey
13 Baines
14 Kompany
15 Coleman
16 Giroud
17 Sturridge
18 Cabaye
19 Oscar
20 Lallana
21 Mertesacker
22 Coutinho
23 Adebayor
24 Evra
25 Zabaleta
26 Kosc
27 Terry
28 Barkley
29 Remy
30 Bony
31 Januzaj
32 Benteke
33 Rodriguez
34 Soldado
35 Walker
What do you think of my rankings? Would you place anyone on the list ahead of these guys? All thoughts are appreciated!Open ControlsNot sure I'd have RVP on the list. With your budget wouldn't players like Rodriguez be valuable? Or are you assuming there won't be many expensive players left so you should grab them while you can? I don't really know how these things work!
You could gamble with someone like kolarov too.Open ControlsYou're right, rodriguez is valuble but you're also right, there's always (4 years) been a power grab for the highest potential point scorers at the top, no matter the price as by rd 5 you're just picking up the pieces.
So you think RVP won't perform to last seasons standards when he's back? If he does, he'll be a difference maker.Open Controls

Appreciate the opinions on these few.
1. JRod Gerrard or Lallana Lukaku?

Anyone thinking of McGregor + Davis for an extremely cheap 8.4mil?
Davis should play the next game v west brom, and from gws 22-29 hull don't have a bad fixture. I'd be happy playing him til then. So to free up some cash seems worth it to me.
It is for example 0.8mil cheaper than the popular McGregor + Marshall and I don't see Cardiff keeping many clean sheets anyway. Also, a 4.5 mil keeper can justify his peicetag from savepoints alone so there isn't a lot of downside.
Thoughts?Open Controlsdepends on ur mentality over a goalkeeper..i always focus more on attack so i will gladly do it
Open ControlsMy team value is high so currently I will actually have money in the bank which may seem silly. However I know from experience that when I suddenly want to stretch and bring aguero in I will regret the slightly overpriced benchwarmers in my squad! So I'm trying to include some 3.9ers in there this time
Open Controlsdo have a plan in case u want to bring in aguero..for me my approach is if there is a need to get in aguero for example, i will use the reserved money on a high value player like baines which i can easily downgrade so that i can fund aguero next time.

Open ControlsCheers. Every week I seem to be talking myself into keeping the little rat! This week' slime of thinking is "injury ravaged Newcastle and then leaky Cardiff up next - madness to get rid!"
Eriksen does have a couple of decent fixtures though and seems nailed on for 90 and has most set pieces...Open Controls
Re-watching the second half of the United match and I'm pretty convinced that Adebayor isn't injured. His body language doesn't suggest any sort of injury, be it cramp, pull or knock. Not a single wince or anything, all smiles and shaking his teammates' hands. In the moments leading up to both Eriksen's goal and Welbeck's goal he's hardly even running. He goes down directly after Welbeck's goal before the restart.
Makes me think that Sherwood was planning to take him off around then anyways in anticipation of Arsenal this weekend and so Adebayor took the opportunity to take the wind out of United's sail and kill our momentum and go through with the pre-planned substitution.Open ControlsHe tweeted earlier saying he has recovered and should be fit for Saturday
Open ControlsHe may have been genuinely hurting... he hasn't exactly been competing at PL level for 90 minutes per week. Plus he's getting old.
Open Controls29 is ancient 😆
he was all smiles, no injury whatsoever. he didn't even react once..they even had to have him slide down the stretcher a bit and he had his hands behind his head all relaxed the entire timeOpen ControlsHe's an expert troll, so I don't put it past him.

Lots of teams with Mannone in them. But are we extremely sure that he's first choice and not only in the team because of Westwood's injury?
I'd hate to have to play Marshall every week especially considering that he has Man Utd and Man City in the next 3Open ControlsIf you were the manager, would you take Mannone out? He's been putting on a great show, IMO. He'd be amongst the top GKs in saves, if he had been starter since GW1.
