Maybe the weather was  to blame. For the first time in eight Gameweeks, there were no red cards flashed by referees as Tuesday and Wednesday’s eight fixtures found Premier League players on their best behaviour. For a certain Sunderland defender, however, the cancellation of a midweek trip to the Etihad has ensured he remains on the naughty step for a little bit longer:

Wes Brown was due to serve the first of a two-match ban against City on Tuesday but, after the Manchester wind forced the game’s cancellation, he will now miss the Gameweek 27 trip to Arsenal, in addition to this weekend’s FA Cup clash against Southampton. Given that the Black Cats’ Gameweek 28 game against West Brom has also been postponed due to their Capital One Cup final duties, this means Brown won’t be available for league duties until March 10 – when Gus Poyet’s side roll up to Anfield.

Cardiff’s Craig Bellamy will serve the second of a three-match ban for violent conduct this weekend. The Welshman decided against appealing the FA’s retrospective charge following an incident with Jonathan de Guzman in last weekend’s loss at Swansea – he will miss the FA Cup clash against holders Wigan and a home match with Hull before returning for the Gameweek 28 trip to Tottenham. Andy Carroll will serve the last of his three-match ban against Southampton when league duties recommence and will return for the Hammers’ trip to Everton on March 1.

The trio are the only players currently serving suspensions after Allan McGregor, Loic Remy and Mathieu Flamini all completed the last of their respective three-match bans during the week. McGregor is expected to take his place between the sticks for Hull’s trip to Cardiff next time around as Steve Bruce’s side go in search of a second successive away clean sheet.

Remy’s return to the Newcastle first XI will be a welcome relief for Alan Pardew. The Frenchman will surely be installed up top at home to Aston Villa as the Magpies manager attempts to arrest an alarming run of form which has seen his side fail to score in seven of the last eight league matches.

Flamini’s availability for Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland gives Arsene Wenger the option of moving Jack Wilshere into an advanced berth on the flank after being stationed in the double-pivot alongside Mikel Arteta in each of the last two Gameweeks.

On this week’s Suspension Tightrope, we now have six players just a couple of cautions away from a ban. West Brom’s Claudio Yacob is our newest arrival after picking up a booking in Tuesday’s home draw against Chelsea – he joins Fabian Delph, Marouane Chamakh, Wayne Rooney, Jon Walters and Baggies team-mate Jonas Olsson on eight yellow cards. Villa, Chelsea and West Brom are the most represented teams on the newly-updated Tightrope – all have three players with at least seven cautions to their name thus far.

Cardiff are terrible at the minute and have hardly scored any goals since Ole took charge, so for that reason I would go McGregor if he is back from injury.

Hmmmm, toughie. I'd be inclined to go with the better 'keeper....which again is a toughie. Most will say Boruc, but I really rate 'Shagger' MacGregor (who IMO should have been in the Premiership before he was). Cardiff could be 0-0. West Ham...maybe 1-1 or 1-2...?

Agreed, they are both good keepers.

            Funny story about Shagger.

Was story in press that Paddy McCourt was banging McGregor's burd and she was also pregnant at the time.

Remember being at the OF game at Ibrox after the story was released and the whole Celtic end were singing:

            The baby's not yours
            The baby's not yours
            Alan Mcgregor
            The baby's not yours

            Its Paddy McCourts
            Its Paddy McCourts
            Alan McGregor
            Its Paddy McCourts

😆 😆 I take it it was to the tune of:

"He dives to the leffffttttt, he dives to the riiiiiiighttt...

Allan McGregor, he shags ten burds a night !" Haha.

I can remember him being on the front of a Sunday paper with a story about how he'd been round a few bird's houses one night all after another. Wild man !!! 😆 😀

This is Joseph Minala, a 17 year old Cameroonian member of Lazio's youth team, but there have been suggestions that he is actually 41 years old.

Obviously his face does look pretty old, but I don't know why people think he is 41, why would Lazio want a player who's well well past his peak in their youth team. Also he's a fairly explosive, quick player, something rare in middle-aged people.

Lazio are now threatening legal action against those who have question the legitimacy of his birth certificate, particularly African website Senego.net.

What do you think about it all?

It looks like a man's head has been superimposed on a child

But unless they have got him just to win the youth league (which I would not have thought to be a priority) then there is no age limit for football anyway so what is the problem?

Right guys, fancy dissecting my team? Would really appreciate a bit of help, trying to get inside the top 100k and I know a few good GWs will get me there. No transfers til after cup games I know! Just want an "idea" of what looks good.

    Boruc / McGregor
    Kosc / Coleman / Vlaar / Ward / R. Bennett
    Lallana / Mata / Hazard / Yaya / Mirallas
    Suarez / Negredo / Berahino

    2FT, 2.5m ITB.

Playing 3-5-2. Was thinking getting R.Bennett out for Williamson but think I may need to focus on attackers instead? If City win in the cup may do Berahino, Mirallas > Adebayor, Bentaleb and releasing Negredo for Sturridge the following GW. Any thoughts or ideas?

    Much appreciated!

Is it worth doing JRod to Ade with FT before price rise tonight

Already have Lallana and Eriksen but will eventually get rid of Eriksen

Yay or Nay for JRod to Adebayor?

    Evening, gents!

Considering what to do with my 2FTs this week:

    Adrian, Mannone
    Azpi, Cahill, Collins, Chambers, Brown
    Hazard, Yaya, Lallana, Mirallas, Noone
    Suarez, Adebayor, van Persie

Strongly considering van Persie to Sturridge tonight. But what to do with with the £3.6 I'm left with? Is it worth it doing any of A) Cahill to Ivanovic, B) Chambers to Fonte or C) something else?

    Thanks in advance! 😀

Just to say to everyone if you are getting in Adebayor, get him in now before price rise. He can't get injured between now and next GW because Spurs aren't in FA Cup. I just did JRod ➡ Adebayor a d feel great about. I have Lallana and I feel he is enough Southampton cover.

Hey guys I would love some help here. In a bit of a crisis.

    Boruc
Coleman Reid Flanagan | Olsson Gabbidon
Eriksen Lallana Silva Hazard | Gnabry
    Sturridge Adebayor Suarez

My team needs a make over. I have 2FT remaining but I'm willing to use 3 transfers.
What would you do with 6.1M ITB?

Assuming Liverpool play in gameweek 29 I was thinking:

    Eriksen>Gerrard
Flanagan>Koscielny (he'll miss one GW but I have enough cover)
    Gabbidon>Ivanovic

then when Aguero is back I'll save a couple transfers to do:

    Gerrard>Adam
Adebayor>Aguero (assuming Adebayor is doing the worst out of my strikers)

Thoughts? Sorry about this wall of text.
