Site Features

In Development – The Community Submissions Section

Next week we’re looking to launch a new feature on Fantasy Football Scout, aimed at further increasing community interaction and adding a new dimension to the site’s content.

The new Submissions section will allow any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published in the Submissions section, or even promoted to the homepage listing.

In many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. Since we introduced HomeCrowd, we’ve seen many posters supply some quality content, which has been of great interest to our readers. While we’ve been able to highlight these posts via the Hot Topics, we felt we needed another level to recognise some of the great content that can be produced by the community.

How the Submissions section develops is very much up to you to decide, as it will be your content that shapes it. You can send us articles on any subject surrounding Fantasy Football – player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any community tournaments you’re running, provided they’re free to enter. Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

Transfer news is another great source of content and we are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be the community’s eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

There will also be a sideboard widget listing articles published and we will flag up the published submissions in our weekly community round-up as well as in our social media channels. As mentioned, we may even promote some articles to our homepage listing.

In the past we’ve always looked to recruit new writers from the community and both Paul and Jonty – staff members at Fantasy Football Scout – arrived via that route. We’d like to think that there are more new writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years.

With the close season and the World Cup looming, this is a great opportunity to try out this new section and evolve and improve it as we go. If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on targets for the next, then keep your powder dry and look out for the launch of the Submissions section next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The most annoying part of Rooney being a doubt (and a d*ck) is that my Aguero captain differential is going down the drain...

Who's gonna be runaway captain leader now: Kun or Mata?

I still dont think Mata is captain material despite his recent heroics against poor opposition.

Lost at the bottom of the last page..

    Morning lads 🙂

So IF Rooney is ruled out, would anyone consider RVP as a replacement? Obviously if Roo is fine even for one match it's worth holding on.

There's also Welbeck and Hernandez to deal with..

I think one needs to keep GW38 in mind... I'm even considering Rooney to Sturridge this week, because I'll probably want to have him for the final GW (if fit)

But I wouldn't imagine Sturridge would get many points this week and with it being a DGW, there are players out there who might be worth transferring in even for an extra -4 over Studge..

    Rooney news?

    Assuming Rooney ok:

    a) Lukaku and Baines > Aguero and Bardsley
    b) Suarez > Aguero

    Rooney out -
Rooney and Lukaku > Aguero and Wickham
(I will need to downgrade someone as 0.1 off Rooney > Aguero)

I feel Lukaku could do well this weekend - at home and a big match player

Yeah, it's come down to boring tactics for my ML. Totally expect Eriksen to outscore Suarez but my rival has Suarez and Ramsey. I can wipe the floor with him with our other differentials so I figured I shouldn't give him any opportunity for compensating with Suarez.

Unfortunately for me, RVP would be a further 8 point hit, which doesn't make enough sense, I don't think.

Or should this convince me to keep Suarez and go for De Gea (for a hit!) instead? Why can't Giggs come up with the following statement: "RVP has trained like a mofo whole week, is fully fit, and will definitely start against Sunderland. You heard it: lineup aginst Sunderland is RVP and 10 others."

Maybe it's better if he's tell that they have not overtrained him though, just eased him in and he seems super sharp and fit to play 60+ minutes this match, probably full 90 minutes in the match after. That's what I want to hear. FFS.

You need to think about RVP like he's a SGW player IMO. Suarez > RVP for a hit sounds a little bit mad in that light.

Yeah. On the other hand, fixture is tons better, and RVP probably also has that cameo against Sunderland coming. RVP must play some 30+ in both matches. And a super top striker coming in late when defences are tired may score a goal or two...

But you're right, it is a bit mad. The thing is, I need some mad differential now, and everybody has Suarez, nobody has RVP. Still, if I pull trigger on that transfer, I will be sweating nervous all week long. Okay, it's probably the fever that makes me sweat, but I would then also be nervous.

Ah, if you're in need of a high risk, high reward differential then they don't come much bigger than RVP!

Btw, last GW blew the difference to 50 points that I have to make in 2 GW's. That's why RVP appeals to me.

What is a realisitc target for Van Gaal and UTd next yr? I mean if Holland go farff he won't be showing up til July and and you can add another few weeksa to that for transfer targets. Could get off to a slow start.

Both in decent form, tough one. Wickham seems the popular choice, but Borini is on penalties.. 5 goals and 1 assist in 3 games against City and Chelsea away + Cardiff home - Wickham probably!

    My team:

    Harper (K Davis)

    Baines - Ferdinand - Demi - Flannagan

    Yaya - Eriksen - Mata

    Lukaku - Rooney - Suarez

    Subs: Puncheon - Stones - S Davis

Aguero needs to come in but in depends on Rooney I guess...

    So
    A) Lukaku and Baines > Aguero and Brown
    b) Suarez > Aguero
    c) Rooney and Lukaku > Aguero and Wickham/Welbeck
    D) Rooney and Baines > Aguero and Evra/Zaba
