With just six days remaining until the 2014/15 season gets up and running, City and Arsenal go head-to-head for the Community Shield this afternoon. As expected, both side’s starting line-ups have been heavily influenced by a lack of pre-season action for a number of World Cup stars, though Arsene Wenger hands all three of his main summer signings competitive debuts:

Man City Starting XI: Caballero; Clichy, Boyata, Nastasic, Kolarov; Navas, Fernando, Toure, Nasri; Jovetic, Dzeko

Arsenal Starting XI: Szczesny; Debuchy, Koscielny, Chambers, Gibbs; Arteta, Wilshere; Alexis, Ramsey, Cazorla; Sanogo

For City, Stevan Jovetic has the chance to continue the form which has harvested five goals over the summer so far. The Montenegro international is partnered by Edin Dzeko up top and, whilst the likes of Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure also make the XI, Arsenal will be optimistic of taking advantage of an experimental City backline, which sees Gael Clichy fielded as a right-back once again and Aleks Kolarov patrolling the left.

Arsene Wenger names Mathieu Debuchy and Callum Chambers in defence alongside Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs. Aaron Ramsey owners will be buoyed by what appears to be a move to the attacking midfield three alongside Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, with Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere sitting in front of the defence. Up front, Sanchez’ role out wide means Yaya Sanogo gets the nod after his four-goal demolition of Benfica in last week’s Emirates Cup, with Olivier Giroud warming the bench again.

He's nailed on at least. Seems to be some uncertainty over every single other Stoke defender.

All jokes aside I thought Sanchez looked the most dangerous of all Arsenal attackers in the first half.

Little rusty and most of his final passes were off, but I think he`ll be amazing as the season progresses.

Going with Sanchez and Ramsey, but partly because it'll be hard to trade up to 10.5+ if he performs, but easy to trade down if he underperforms.

    REPOST

    Not brilliant at spreadsheets.

Can someone help me out please. I want to make a formula on one, using all the contents of say column A divided by say all column B, in such a way that say A2+B2=C2, A3+B3=C3 etc, all the way down the column with one formula.

Go into the C2 column & type "=A2+B2". Drag this formula all the way down the column.

Usually it will do this if you double-click on the bottom right hand corner of C2. Should copy formula for as many rows as there are figures in column B.

Really stuck on Lamela vs. Eriksen. Classic choice of boom/bust vs. safety/consistency. Youth/differential vs. consistency/experience. (Not that Eriksen is old...)

Having watched a couple of the Spurs' preseason games, I've been on Lamela. He just looks really energized, dangerous in in and around the box, very involved. But as GW1 gets closer, and I read more RMTs here, I am wavering...

Sanogo gets better with every game, as a fan I'd be disappointed if he didn't. He's done it all this preseason and he can mix it with the big boys. Defenders fear him.

That said we've had a few player perform like he has and not play but I think he will, he looks dead hungry. Having a good Sanogo is good for Giroud owners too because I reckon his MPP will improve with the competitive spirit in the squad.

    Gk DDG/Given
Def Caulker, Terry, Collocini, Chambers, Davies
Mid Mata, Ramsey, Nasri, Henderson, Siggy
    Fwd Rooney, Costa, Bojan

Davies at Spurs worries me. Could go Dzeko over Bojan and fet a 5.5 mid in for Nasri. Like Noble

Anyone else impressed by Jovetic today? He looked alive when the other City players looked lacklustre. Anyone picking him for week 1?

I thought he looked like a class act. Would GJ (shite as he is recently) get dropped with all that PL experience after one game though?

My opinion is that he will become 1st choice as the season goes, but GJ will start in the driving seat.

But if this is the case, wouldn't Manquillo drop in price slightly before he becomes first choice?

I wouldn't be getting Pool defence early on anyway, they're definitely one to monitor before you pick them.

Haha, yes. With Sterling to pick from at Liverpool and Siggy/Snoddy/Puncheon/Mutch etc at or below Henderson's price I don't see why you would start with him, there's just too much potential for him to fail. If he does a Ramsey, though, make sure you hop on fairly early.

Getting sick of changing around team. Decided im just gonna start off nice and safe.

Not too worried about defence to begin with. Every start of every season clean sheets are completely random and make no sense. Defence is for after xmas. Now i just want players i think are going to be part of the attacking points and also try and find that must have captain player.

Came up with this. Can i get some eyes to scutinise it for obvious mistakes?

    Begovic • myhill

    Evans • B.Davis • Debuchy • Colicinni • Wisdom

    Mata • Ramsey • Sterling • Siggy • Wanyama

    Costa • Rooney • Giroud

Thanks in advance. Would of liked some che defender but going to wait until we have some clue as to what that defence is. Might go for che gk if it looks like one is favoured, seems best course of action. Would like to know thoughts on davis role in tot, especially with rose there aswell. Think my mid is solid. Siggy holding 6mil spot, ready to transfer to whoever low cost mid shines if its not himself. Mata, ramsey and sterling i feel will be in for long haul as will be involved in most goals, was looking at fabs and hazard, decided costa the way to go, think fabs will be deep playing unfortunatly and hazard wont be in a team without a stricker anymore, got to lower his point haul a wee bit. Had pelle up front for a month, but just not willing to risk it. So giroud in until i see proof that sanchez has replaced him.

    Good look next week

Dont like rotating gks, hate when i get it wrong.

I pick gk for save points. I would have went ddg but im planning a evans to shaw move if shaw starts grabbing the baps in the clean sheat games.
