Our Monday afternoon regular is rolled out once again, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Injuries

Arsenal
Olivier Giroud picked up an ankle problem towards the end of Saturday’s draw at Everton. Post-match, Arsene Wenger was a little pessimistic with his initial prognosis:

“It’s a stretched ankle. At the moment it doesn’t look too good.”

Reports today suggest that, although Giroud told the French media he hoped to be fit for the midweek Champions League clash with Besiktas, Arsenal have some concerns over his availability.

Aston Villa
Aly Cissokho was subbed off towards the end of Saturday lunchtime’s goalless draw due to injury, the club’s official website has confirmed.

Chelsea
Withdrawn just after the hour mark of the weekend home win over Leicester, Andre Schurrle took to twitter to proclaim:

“Hope my leg is getting better the next days.”

Crystal Palace
Joe Ledley was a late withdrawal from the side that lost to West Ham on Saturday after picking up a groin problem during the warm-up.

Everton
Steven Pienaar was forced off due to his groin early on in the Toffees’ home draw with Arsenal. Post-match, Roberto Martinez revealed Romelu Lukaku had been hampered by a toe problem during the match:

“Romelu has been struggling with a knock on his toe and he did incredibly well to be available today. The fans need to know and it is an example of our football Club that he did everything to be available for the game to help the players. To last over 70 minutes was an incredible gesture and he was terrific for Naismith’s goal – I couldn’t be prouder of his attitude and the way he represented our Club today.”

Leicester
Midfielder Dean Hammond was withdrawn during the loss at Chelsea with leg cramp, Nigel Pearson has confirmed.

Manchester United
Louis van Gaal’s injury worries at the back show little sign of abating. Chris Smalling became the latest defender to make his way onto the treatment table after limping out of the 1-1 draw at Sunderland due to a groin problem.

QPR
Charlie Austin missed Sunday’s hammering at White Hart Lane due to a hamstring injury.

Stoke
Glenn Whelan was forced off during yesterday’s draw at Hull due to an ankle problem, allowing Bojan Krkic to take his place off the bench.

Sunderland
The Black Cats wide man Adam Johnson missed yesterday’s home encounter with United due to illness.

West Brom
New left-back Sebastien Pocognoli and Victor Anichebe were both replaced in the weekend draw at Southampton after picking up injuries, confirm the club’s official website.

West Ham
Kevin Nolan missed the trip to Palace due to a shoulder injury, according to the Hammers’ twitter feed. Sam Allardyce has since conceded:

“It could be six weeks and it’s a massive blow to him and us. We’ve got five out. Those missing play a big part in our squad and our team.”

Suspensions

Hull’s James Chester disappointed the 128,000 FPL managers who drafted him in last week with a red card and a haul of minus two points at home to Stoke. The centre-half sits out the weekend trip to Villa but will be available for the Gameweek 4 home encounter against West Ham.

Put £50 on over 2.5 goals before the game, then once it starts bet on under 2.5 goals straight away. Guaranteed profit

Use two different bookies to make sure they don't void that bet. They have the right to do so if the bet is guaranteed profit. I go Odd goals with Bet365 and Even with Paddypower which means you will lose a maximum of a fiver but then have a free 50 quid to play with.

If you put £50 on over 2.5 goals before the game starts, and then use the free £50 in play bet on under 2.5 goals you guarantee profit. About £28 if overs and £18 if under.

From Welbeck's perspective, he should get more game-time and it should be better for his England prospects.

They probably have rather mixed feelings about Wayne Rooney and David Moyes then...although the Moyes move did work out rather better for Everton than for United.

Phil Neville was a great transfer for Everton too.

He'd never play for City that's for sure. Would barely get a look in at Pool with Sturridge and Balo, and if Chelsea didn't have to put up with Torres and had managed to replace him he wouldn't see games there either. I'd be unhappy if Chelsea signed him

His overall quality is class though, dribbling, keeps the ball in the tightest situations. Always initiates the attacks but nobody seems to notice.

He hardly plays for you. I'm sure he'd rather be somewhere he can get regular games. Not all players are glory hunters, even if their agents are. Though for agents I'm sure it's more about the money their get for themselves and the kudos of having their players at top clubs. Even if they rot on the bench for four years.

15,16m fee for him will help balance the books but selling someone whose been at the club since he was a kid and with a bright future ahead is just sad.

When he does play, which was a lot these last 2 years he's fab.

It does seem a strong move unless he's pushing for it. He's a great player in terms of work rate, certainly a player worth having on the bench to bring on when RvP is too tired to continue or when they wish to maintain a lead.

3 players dropping 1 free transfer nights aswel use it to save TV.
Don't want to take a hit so which to remove:

            A) Caulker
            B) Davis
            C) Bojan

I think il play Caulker this week and get rid following week on ft. Stoke have good fixtures so keep Bojan for now maybe? I never play Davis so may aswel get a 4.5mid is my thinking correct in this situation ?

Last season Balotelli had 0.8 goals/assists per game on average for a crap Milan-side that ended 8th in Serie A, could be a good option if he don't get too many yellow cards per game I reckon..

world class imo is a player who u would consider for a striker to be in the top 10 or so in his position in the world...

                    ballotelli doesnt come close

sturridge is a better player and wouldnt consider him to be at that level...

Sturridge and Balo are on a par. There ain't much between them

So only the two best players in the world are world class, and all the others who are the best players for their country and would get into any team aren't? Think your definition of world class is a bit restrictive ...

Messi and Ronaldo are footballing geniuses but the players you listed below them are world class. Otherwise there would only be 2 world class players

Have Newcastle looked solid at the back? Good fixtures and might want to double up.

They have looked decent in my opinion, the only reason they conceded 2 against City was cause they were pressing for an equaliser. Palace at home is a good shout for a cleanie.

I am going for wickham. Good fixtures, looked promising vs manu, better stats than fletcher and great output at the end of last season. 5 goals 2 assists in less than a third of a season.

Wow I went a bit overboard with my praise there it seems haha

Caulker has had twice as many goal attempts as Nacer Chadli, and three times as many shots in the box.

I've done Blackett to Jones, and Chambers to Dummett already with my 2 FT's.. Opinions?! http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/128104/event-history/2/

Hmmmm I know, but I wanted to sure up my already weak defence. Relatively happy with every other position!

Why bring a United defender in for a United defender??

They will concede even against lesser teams

I still have faith in United to sure up a bit at the back! They have the 3 relegated teams up next, I doubt Blackett will start against all... However a Smalling injury concern was not what I wanted...

Guess you a MU man. But better defenders out there. In so saying I got Debuchy even though he not a rational choice.
