Why is anyone making transfer now?!

Mata injury, potential price drop and general poor play. Any one of those things is forgivable but not all three.

I think Monreal is a capable player, actually, just that Gibbs is first choice, decent going forwards, and not a card magnet like Debuchy. Probably not going to be a secure enough starter though with competition and injury-proneness.

    2 questions

1- Is Stoke's defender Wilson nailed?

2- Looking to seek Mata to bring in Cesc or Sterling ( will they rise or should I wait in case of international injuries)?

    1. Bolivian Seaman
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

Wilson nailed? He helped to get a cleansheet at the etihad where man city had failed to score once in about 50 games. I think he's very close to nailed

    2. Ludo
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

1 - For now. Huth is waiting in the wings, but he played well at the Etihad today, so no reason for Hughes to drop him. Just know that there's the risk of him being dropped at some point.

      2. Price rises are very difficult to predict... Wait as long as you can.

        Cheers ludo?

But would you get Cesc or Sterling if u had a choice?

Sterling fixtures seem better but Cesc more consistent in a stronger team

        1. Ludo
          • 12 Years
          11 years, 3 months ago

Out of the two? Hard to say without seeing how Sterling fits in around Balotelli... Cesc should keep ticking over, consistently scoring points, whereas Sterling is more explosive, could score a load of goals, or be quieter in support to Sturridge and Balotelli.

It would require downgrading your forwards/multiple moves, but I think Fab in the midfield is almost a requirement. 4-3-3 will be tough this year with all the quality midfielders this year.

    Fell off last page:

    Some interesting fallers:

3 Burnley players - did very well yesterday and have a good run of fixtures coming up
    Ward fell to 4.9
Simpson fell to 4.4 - he's just gone to Leicester. If he's a first teamer attacking fullback he could be a good value 5th defender.

    Krul
Jones Bardsley Chester --- Ferdinand naylor
Ramsey siggy mata eriksen --- jwp
    Rooney dzeko costa

A: mata >> fab / sterling and carry over FT
    B: mata + eriksen >> fab and sterling....depending on today's game
C: any other options...don't know who else to remove...Rooney perhaps

mata>>fab should be sufficient, but today's games could change matters

Forget team value, points win the game.

I'm liking B. But as you've mentioned depends on the outcome of the game really

I'd say A, save the other transfer for more pressing matters. You already have Costa, so wait on Rooney for another week at least?

i don't think building value will be as important as it was last year - prices aren't rising as fast as they did last year.

That said, Mata to Fab unless Sterling dominates vs. Spurs.

i'd keep Rooney given upcoming fixtures, but many seem to disagree.

Might also wait to see if any other new players come in. Just read about Blind to Man U and Falcao maybe to City.

Thanks all....I reckon both mata and eriksen gonna drop in price esp if eriksen does nothing today..

Problem is I am 0.1m short to do eriksen to sterling and hold other transfer depending on injuries etc.

I understand that an international call up is a prestigious event in a young footballer's career but I also think that Hodgson is just a bit desperate when he calls up players like Chambers. Let him play with the U21's instead of this push, push, push approach. His readiness shouldn't really be in question when it happens and he's still developing as a club player. Let him play without the pressure for a while.

It's a friendly in an almost-empty Wembley - no pressure. He needs to build for the future.

sure but I think there's too much hype for good young English players and don't think it helps their development much

Sitting around in Arsenal's reserves is what won't help his development, which is what might happen, same as a lot of young players who go to the big clubs.

He won't be in the reserves. He'll play quite a bit

Surely playing for Arsenal is pressure.

Yes but it's pressure he has played his way up to. I don't think he has played his way to an international call up yet
