Any transfers I should make? 1 FT and 0.6 in the bank.

    Krul (Myhill)
    Vlaar Azpilicueta Clyne (Wisdom Chester)
    Sigurdsson Fabregas Mata Ramsey (Cattermole)
    Jovetic Costa Rooney

I’m thinking of getting rid of Jovetic and Azpili but for who?

I know it's early but any thoughts on these two transfers?

    Caulker + Mata > Ivanovic + Sterling (2FT)

Have the exact amount of money to do it, so providing Sterling comes through the Spurs game unscathed I might do it before the price changes tomorrow...

      for free, should be good.

      Don't trust QPR nor United.

Ivanovic is proving his value. Sterling (got him at the moment) is the only one that worries me because of Balotelli. We'll see if Sterling is influenced in any way

      decent transfers in my opinion

They look like 2 very nice transfers indeed. However, I'd be worried about injuries over the international break, not sure if I would be gutsy enough to make the transfers this early.

Yep, it's the only way I'll be able to afford these transfers as a Mata/Caulker price drop or Ivan/Sterling price rise means I'm screwed. It's a definitely a big risk to make transfers before the internationals, but I have Chester (WHU) to come on from my bench if I get an injury.

Have got Mata and Dzeko stinking my team out. Which one is the priority to move on?
Mata has QPR at home (if he's not injured) so I'm tempted to keep him for one more, but on the other hand the Jov & Kun partnership failed pretty miserably last night so Dzeko could get a start next GW.

    I'm confused:

    A) Mata > Cesc
    B) Dzeko > Adebayor
    C) Save transfer

    1. KING KOUNDER
      • 14 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

Dzeko 's playing time is the deal breaker here.
Get him if you're sure he is gonna start.

    2. cramps
      • 12 Years

i'd do B. Fixtures and uncertainty of dzeko's gametime being the factors. both are good moves though

    3. Michaelangelo
      • 13 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

Thats really tough. I'm currently looking at A myself but then I again, I already have aguero instead of dzeko.

I'll look at it this way. I think Dzeko and Adebayor are likely to get similar points (If dzeko gets minutes). However, I expect Cesc to do better than Mata considering how poor United is at the moment. Cesc is the way to go in my opinion.

Better to wait for tomorrow though. Keep an eye on Adebayor. Could get injured for all we know or have the game of his life

    Current team

    Krul, Elliott
    Terry, Clyne, Chester, Hutton, Moore
    Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Silva, Siggy
    Rooney, Jovetic, Naismith

    Considering a -4 for gw 4:
    Rooney out, Costa in
    Terry out, Ivanovic in

Will play 3-4-3 with Silva, Hutton & Moore on the bench.

I could also sway towards a -8 by selling Jovetic & getting Adebeyor or selling Moore & getting Dier.

I'm wondering when is the best time to do the -4. Soon to avoid price changes or leave until the last minute after the internationals are over.

Yeah it's an unknown. With the new signing it's expected that Dier could lose his spot but he has been one of the top performers for Spurs. I mean he won the 1st game with a goal & sored in the 2nd. Who knows though.

Having a pretty decent week so far, but looking for a way to use my 2 FT's for the week. Will probably make moves after all games are over (TV isn't that big of a concern)

    Begovic, Gilks
    Chester, Debuchy, Naylor, Baird, Clyne
    Sterling Ramsey Fab Siggy Albrighton
    Rooney Costa Dzeko

    1.0M banked.

Preliminary thoughts are to swap out Dzeko/Rooney to someone cheaper (Naismith?) and upgrade a defender to Ivan/Coleman. Any thoughts and suggestions would be awesome 😀

Worth doing Clyne in for Chambers for a -4. (Planning a Mata to Sterling trade).

Other defenders are: Terry, Debuchy, Chamber (MCI), Baird (benched) and Hutton(liv)

Got a couple issues with this team now:

    Krul (Elliot)
    Terry Taylor Chester (Hutton, Wisdom)
    Hazard Ramsey Mata Siggy (Marney)
    Costa Rooney Jovetic

    0.2ITB. 1FT.

Rooney, Mata, Jovetic and Terry are my main issues. What would you do?

    (A) Terry and Mata out. Lamela and Ivanovic in for -4.
    (B) Terry and Hazard out, Fab and Ivanovic in for -4.
    (C) Mata and Jovetic out, Ade and Lamela in for -4.
    (D) Save FT.

Why is terry an issue? Mata and jovetic out makes sense , though its hard to find the right combo to replace. Ade and lamela a bit too much spurs though i like each individually so msybe it is fine

There was something weird about that Costa firesale. It took off so quickly even though there was little evidence to begin with and even when that little evidence was refuted. It was a Jovetic frenzy by then. Epic flames!!!

People will be lying if they said the sold him 'only' because he was injured. People knew it was best to wait till the press conference and still many who waited that long, still sold him despite him having a very strong chance of starting. Some even misquoted Mourinho in a way which suggested he'd either be benched or not be named at all.

Jovetic could continue to be a good pick but right now there is nothing to say he's nailed after today. Such is the see-saw for any other City forward besides Aguero. Costa is nailed and is also in form. Hazard is the price for this and Sterling is a good choice given upcoming fixtures.

Jovetic is as good as gone. After all that talk from Pelly he left a half fit Kun on and went back to his tried and true combination of Navas and a big man(Dzeko) coming on. I'm done.

Yes but unless he scores and/or is looking like MOTM he'll be the first one to get the hook even if he does manage to start. I don't agree with it. I said it was a daft choice when he was subbed and it proved to be in the end. But that's the way it is unfortunately. I'm not interested in that circus. No more City strikers for me.

Really doubt Jovetic will start against Arsenal. Unless Aguero gets injured. Aguero is always going to play and Dzeko suits Aguero more. Holding Hazard I can understand, but he's not showing much to justify spending the extra over Fabregas/other 9m options.

that was before the performance yesterday.

kun and jovetic won't be starting together imo, they are too alike, it doesn't work esp against taller defences.

That's absolute bunk. It was Navas providing width that improved them, slightly. Jovetic was clearly better than Aguero. But the City attackers were just crowding the hell out of each other in the middle of the pitch.

Don't agree Jovetic was better than Aguero, both equally shit if I'm honest. Yes, Navas provided the spark, but without Dzeko occupying Shawcross/Wilson and providing a target for Navas he wouldn't have done squat. Aguero/Jovetic both kept dropping deep and with Silva and Nasri also drifting centrally they did crowd each other. That's where the target man like Dzeko comes in.

TBF it only became a plan after I spotted Doosra promoting the idea in pre-season. His plan was to swap him to Baines from GW8 and I liked the idea. After such a spectacular start however I'm not sure I'd want to part with Ivanovic at all.
