This morning sees the return of that old favourite “Scout Scribbles”. We round up the most noteworthy of news or football rumours from the past 24 hours for your morning reading, with Spurs’ performance at MK Dons last night reminding us they have more than just one Croatian capable of making the headlines…

Nico Krancjar served a reminder of his talents last night in Tottenham’s 5-3 win at MK Dons. The Croatian played a part in 4 of his side’s goals, creating three and scoring one. Roman Pavlyuchenko grabbed Spurs’ opening two goals but Jermaine Defoe again struggled. Defoe, scorer of just 4 league goals last season, was given 75 minutes game time by Harry Redknapp last night but the England man failed to find the net again and has been linked with a move to Newcastle in this morning’s papers.

Nigel Reo Coker is set to follow Darren Pratley by moving to Bolton this summer. Signed by Villa for £8.5m four years ago, he will arrive at the Reebok on a free transfer and represents a savvy piece of business by Owen Coyle. He’ll offer plenty competition to a central midfield area that already has Stuart Holden, Fabrice Muamba and fellow new boy Pratley as the main contenders for a place in Coyle‘s starting line-up, though Reo-Coker is perhaps the most versatile of the four, and will offer Coyle options at right-back and right midfield. The Trotters boss has also been linked with a raid on former club Burnley for winger Chris Eagles and right-back Tyrone Mears, in addition to a move for Liverpool’s David N’Gog.

QPR have turned their attentions to Southampton’s Jason Puncheon as they look to boost the ranks at Loftus Road. Neil Warnock’s side have made a bid for the winger and offered centre-half Kaspars Gorkss in exchange. Puncheon spent last season on loan at Millwall and Blackpool and clearly has little future at St Mary’s, but Gorkss played a major part in helping QPR to last season’s Championship and a move away from the club at this stage will be something of a surprise. Ranked as the top QPR defender in our Members projections, such a move will see us readjust the figures accordingly.

Having missed out in the chase for Craig Gardner, Wolves are still very much in the market for a new central midfielder. Mick McCarthy has already snapped up Jamie O’Hara but has been linked with a loan move for Liverpool’s Jay Spearing and forgotten Man City man Michael Johnson. The club are also eyeing up Thomas Hitzlsperger, with the German a free agent after being released by West Ham following the club’s relegation last season.

West Brom look to be on the verge of signing a new keeper. With Scott Carson leaving the club this close season, Boaz Myhill is currently the number one but the Baggies have been strongly linked with both Robert Green and Ben Foster this summer. The club’s assistant manager Michael Appleton admitted last night

“Hopefully they’ll be one or two arrivals in the coming days…we’re at a stage where we’re nearer rather than further away from getting one or two in.”

Swansea have agreed a £1.75m fee with Middlesboro for Leroy Lita. The forward will travel to Wales to discuss personal terms later this week and follows Danny Graham in moving to the Liberty Stadium this summer. Brendan Rodgers’s 4-3-3 will offer only one of the pair a place in the starting line-up and with Graham being Swansea’s number one target this summer, Lita may well find himself warming the bench next term on more occasions than not.

Liverpool, it appears, are still in the market for Jose Enrique. The Newcastle left-back has just one year left on his contract but has fallen foul of the St James’ Park hierarchy of late, and was fined for criticising the club on twitter. With Enrique able to leave Newcastle for free next term, Kenny Dalglish is eyeing up a £5m bid.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

A if Suarez starts, B, if he doesn't, C if Malouda doesn't. All good choices though.

I've gone for Moses & Rooney, I think Suarez is one of the best players in the premier league but sadly not for Fantasy returns! Likewise Malouda is fantastic when he gets game time but there's too much risk of rotation.

I agree, i won't be getting him until GW3 though. Don't think he'll get 90minutes against Sunderland and Arsenal handled him well last season.

Dirt cheap midfield. The cheap players seem to rotate well and provide upside.

    Given-Al Habsi
    Baines-Kompany-O'Shea-Simpson-Orr
    Albrighton-Taarabt-Sinclair-O'Hara-Moses
    RVP-Rooney-Saurez

    What do you think?

Good but your midfield is a bit weak.downgrade baines for a better mid.

I've thought about that, but say I downgrade Baines to a decent defender worth 5m. That gives me 3m to spend on a midfield upgrade. My most expensive midfielder is 6.5 so I could afford a 9.5m midfield. But who is worth it? N'Zogbia? Silva? I don't think they a worth the downgrade in Baines..

Disagree. The spending is all in attack so that's where the savings should be made. Downgrade only one of these will give a lot more money to improve the midfield - which I agree needs strengthening

RVP & Rooney - I think for first few weeks that is a lot invested in "Tougher" fixtures.... Could downgrade 1 to Zamora/Rodallega and upgrade the middle of the park....

The only expensive MFs I think are worth it due to so many rotation risks are Lampard (too expensive) and VDV (tough fixtures too). Malouda would be worth it due to soft opening schedule but he is also at rotation risk.

    Given, Ruddy
    A.Cole, Bardsley, Kompany, Simpson, Wilkinson
    Dyer, Maxi, VdV, Moses, Barton
    Bent, Rooney, Zamora.

I have 2.5 in the bank, do I:
Upgrade Ruddy to Begovic, leaving me with 1.5m extra
Upgrade Wilkinson to perhaps Riise leaving me with .5m
upgrade Dyer to a 7m mid
    swap maxi for N'zog?

Where have people got this idea that Suarez doesn't score fantasy points from at all?

Also, I'm seeing lots of teams with Sunderland defenders in and I'm wondering why? They have a so-so start and Bruce has gone out bulk-buying really average players

I've got Bramble, because he rotates with SImpson (4.0) and I can't see anyone else that remotely appeals as 4.5.

I agree about Suarez though, is bound to be amongst the points if Liverpool do well.

How much have you spent in each part of your team?

I spend 9m on keepers, 24m on defenders, 40.5m on midfielders and 27.5 on forwards. Hoping that Jose Enrique goes to Pool then he will be a very decent pick.

Tiote is the only 1 I would touch, otherwise try to free up some cash to upgrade. Tiote's not hot but might gain from the new BP system.

Really cannot make my mind up about Bent. On one hand, he's a proven premier league goalscorer and has great fixtures. On the other hand, he's expensive, has lost quality service and is playing under a defensively orientated manager. He keeps moving in and out of my team. The question marks over Suarez and Aguero do nothing to help, either!

      I agree totally

Would love to have Bent, been in my team all the time so far.

But you just feel for 10m he might be overpriced

Suarez a perfect replacement but you don't know if he'll be starting GW1 - i guess he should be...?

I'm trying to avoid a team that encompasses planned transfers in the first few weeks since there will inevitably be some player on crazy form who none of us have considered and is a higher priority.

There is lots of value around the £5.5-6.5m mark... (Ben Arfa, Barton, Taarabt, Sinclair, Seesingnon, Jarvis, O'Hara... the list goes on)

But I always like to have 1 expensive player in DF, MF and FW for easy change of players....
