Granville’s lackadaisical approach to the new campaign might just explain why he’s treading water. Missing deadlines and price rises, my ScoutCast co-host badly needs to introduce some organisation into his season if he’s to keep pace – the man needs a PA – get your applications in.

With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

Minute this meeting via this link or set your own agenda via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Begovic;
    Baines, Clyne, Ferdinand;
    Di María, Sterling, Tadić, Sigurdsson;
    Diego Costa, Agüero, Naismith.

    Hamer; Albrighton, Hutton, Wisdom.

    1FT; £2.3m in the bank.

Planning to do Naismith to Welbeck this week(due to price) followed by Ferdinand to Chambers next week.

    Thoughts?

Feck me, Naismith dropped to 5.3 already. Yup, both look like a plan. A good plan.

Just got to hope Chambers doesn't get his fifth yellow(and a subsequent one game suspension)this weekend.

I can't see why Naismith is that unpopular. Fixtures are good, Mirallas injured so Naismith will have greater responsibility. If you have him, hold unless you plan on Welbeck or Pelle. i.e. make it a positive decision not one based on player popularity and prices

28% ownership, but price drops are swift this season so any blanks/no-shows and he's a downer. Still great potential at that price, but for a bit more you can get yourself a Pellbeck.

Naismith may be a better option than Welbeck this week - apparently rested at Euro. Perhaps prioritize the Ferdinand move?

I'd prefer Naismith to Welbeck this weekend too but future price rises may not allow it.

    Fabregas + Chambers or

I'm leaning in this direction for GW7:

    Mannone (STK)
Baines (mun) Moore (BUR) Moreno (WBA) Naylor (NEW)
ADM (EVE) Fab (ARS) Siggy (NEW) Sterling (WBA)
    Costa (ARS) Pelle (tot)

Krul (swa) Welbeck (che) Clyne (tot) Boyd (lei)

Anyone care to help me sort out this line-up headache?

    A) Keep as is -OR-
    B) Bring in Welbeck for a defender (which one?) -AND/OR-
    C) Bring in Clyne for a defender (which one?)

    1. Cowboy John

Thx - considering this option, but it's awfully easy to imagine Moore with a CS and Welbeck with 2 points.

And Welbeck can hit double-figures whereas six points is probably Moore's ceiling.

Depends how conservative you want to be, I suppose.

Well, Welbeck just scored a hattrick in the CL and im pretty sure he is in top form. But given that Ramsey and Sanchez is injured 2 points for him against Chelsea is higly likely. Hmmm.

Is it time to cash in on the early risers? Notable Fabregas and Siggy?

Their form (albeit it's still early in the season) is taking a dip and their points have dried up. Also, with the sudden rise in form of players like Chadli, who's now scored, as Granville would say, too often for it to be a fluke, could be a direct replacement.

I'm going to hold on to Siggy for at least this GW, but another blank for both Siggy and Fabregas could see me transferring both out.

Siggy is a keeper until Xmas for me I think. Fabregas needs to pick it up but I'm not gonna get rid Of him easily. Patience will be rewarded with him I feel.

You're probably right but now that Hazard is almost the same price as Fabregas, I feel like I will end up doing the switch one time or the other.

Surely Hazard has to get into form sometime (in the FPL sense).

Until Hazard starts picking up some points, and consistently, I'd stay clear. Spent 4GWs waiting for him to 'explode'. Did Hazard ➡ Chadli and never looked back.

But in 2-3GWs, both could be legitimate options to be fair. But your reasoning makes sense, give them one more week and move on.

These are the 2 names on my notice board as well. If Siggy can't produce (NEW), then I will launch him. I may give Fab a slightly longer leash, but I am keeping my eyes on Sivla/Tadic/Chadli in any case.

Evening all. On my WC, currently looking at:

    Mannone / Guzan

    Baines / Bertrand / Naylor / Moore / Duff

    Di Maria / Siggy / Chadli / Sterling / ???

    Costa / Pelle / ???

Can't decide between a) Silva and Ulloa (£2.8m itb) or b) Kun and Boyd (£0.9 itb). Advice appreciated!

Then think about sacrificing Chadli short term as you are on a WC because you ought to have bench players you'd feel comfortable playing and Boyd I'm unsure. What I would do is possibly sacrifice Siggy after this week if he doesn't do the damage v Newcastle

As Pepin mentioned it..an update of the Wakatronic stats generator for picks over the next six gameweeks. For anybody who missed it..I've devised a formula that comes up with an abstract number for mids and fwds to demonstrate the likelihood of attacking returns over the next six weeks. The abstract number does not include recent goals scored or assists and relies entirely upon a variety of other numbers to provide picks relative to each other. Those numbers include the opposition to be faced..position on the pitch..touches in the box..Home/away...blah blah blah...Typically an abstract number above 40 represents a very good pick.

Don't quite know how to measure this but for this week the top three forwards and mids for the six week period as predicted by the formula achieved the following.

    Pelle 62 (9pts)
    Crouch 59 (9pts)
    Sturridge 57 (DNS)

    Sanchez 49 (inexplicable sub appearance)
    Tadic 47 (5pts)
    Chadli 42 (7 pts)

Couldn't pick..all good...Maybe Mane isn't proven but from what I've heard he may turn out to be a super punt...nice list.

Wisdom (ineligible), and Naylor, at home.

Leaning towards Naylow / Clyne / Wilson.

Ulloa (c) -- Bold. Been burnt going for a maverick captain pick after captaining Balo against Aston Villa. You've got solid choices in Kun + Costa.

Otherwise, pretty solid team. You should be in for a good haul.

Getting boring captaining Costa every week. Ulloa scores are great and they have Burnley.

          Fair enough.

My 4pt haul from Balo has made me a bit anti-flair captain picks for a while. lol.

With international break coming up--the one thing that's for sure is that you'll have more than enough time to revel or beat yourself up for choosing to captain OOjoa depending on how it works out.

I'm sticking with Costa and hoping he unleashes fury upon Mertz & the rest of the ARS back 4.

I also imagine Cesc will be keen to have a fantastic 'homecoming' of sorts.

    Current team:

    Krul (Foster)
    Lovren Clyne Naylor (Chester Wisdom)
    Fab ADM Sterling Siggy (Marney)
    Aguero Costa Welbeck

    1FT, 0.5 ITB

Would like to save my FT this week, happy with my team but have a non-playing bench due to injury, ineligibility and being out of favour.
OK to save the FT or should I get a Chester replacement just in case I have another non-starter?

How does this WC team look

    Mannone Forster
    Clyne Naylor Moore Baines Wilson
Di Maria Sterling Siggy Downing Milner
    Aguero Ulloa Costa

Main Issues are whether to get Ivanovic instead of Baines and no Arsenal Cover.

Keep Siggy for GW 7 + 8 and then switch to Chadli for spurs nice run of fixtures from GW9.
At the moment I would go Pelle over Welbeck with the Saints good fixtures and run of form.
