Granville’s lackadaisical approach to the new campaign might just explain why he’s treading water. Missing deadlines and price rises, my ScoutCast co-host badly needs to introduce some organisation into his season if he’s to keep pace – the man needs a PA – get your applications in.

With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

      Siggy is a season keeper. Great price, nailed on, perfect for 4th spot in any midfield line.

    I just don't see the appeal with Aguero at 12.2m.

    Pelle and Welbeck will surely do well below 8m each.

    You will also captain Costa most weeks.

            Yeah but having ageuro gives you the flexibility to change easily such as sideways to sturidge if he hits form,

            The problem having baines or Ivan is it will cost you more in transfers to downgrade. I had terry in before playing wildcard this week and it's hard to adjust.

            I suppose what I'm saying is if pelle dosent perform there's no mid price alternative, (if you also have welbeck that is!)

      At some point you have to forego value and just get the best players. Atm I don't really feel comfortable captaining anyone but Costa or Kun, so I need Kun for that captaincy option.

      Yep I agree. I've got costa-wellbeck-pelle which has allowed me to field a stronger midfield.

      Also depends if the mid priced strikers can keep it up as you can always downgrade aguero to anyone

      Maximum -4 with Ramsey and Naismith out. You can take care of Dummet and Krul later on, DEF is still good enough with Clyne, Ivan and Naylor, no need to WC imo

    Been up all night processing data through the steam powered Wakomatic stats generator..

    Once again I've arrived at an abstract number for goal threat for the next six weeks for players in each position. Points are accrued for fixtures difficulty, position on the pitch,..blah blah blah....The number leans heavily towards attacking returns from open play and care should be taken with set piece takers...The number does not include any likely rotation.

    The Mids..and a surprise top spot...who sadly IS prone to heavy rotation.

            Yep...as I wrote last week I need to find a reliable way of inputing set piece numbers into the formula...Downing and Cesc and the like are obviously too low in terms of overall threat but a lot of their threat arrives from dead balls...I'm working on it...

    Thoughts on Di Maria at 10m?

    He is top class.

    He has had a 14 and 11 point haul.

    However, this is in games where United scored 4 and 3 respectively.

      In FPL terms, he's very attack-minded, can score, assists a lot, delivers crosses, plays for a 'top 7' team, will play 90 every week, no rotation, no midweek chance of injury, not a very injury-prone record. Considering the boxes he ticks, i'd say he's worth 10m. Still better value than Falcao, RvP and Mata is short-term.

    Ramsey & Rooney -> Tadic & Welbeck seems a sound long term move, but I can't get passed their fixtures this week - away at Spurs and Chelsea feels like a week to early. This and the fact I already have Pelle is swaying me towards Chadli & Aguero instead.
