With a quick turnaround in fixtures, we take time out to assess the Premier League treatment rooms this evening and cast an eye over those players who picked up injuries over Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures.

Arsenal
Arsene Wenger’s injury troubles continue to mount as he lost both his left-backs to problems in the 1-0 win at West Brom. Nacho Monreal picked up an ankle knock before his replacement, Kieran Gibbs, suffered yet another issue. Wenger gave us an update on that pair, post-match, whilst also revealing that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has concerns over a knee injury ahead of the visit of Southampton on Wednesday…

“Gibbs struggled a little bit with an ankle problem and Monreal with a knee problem. Oxlade-Chamberlain also had a knee problem.”

Aston Villa
Paul Lambert’s defensive worries continued at the weekend. With Ron Vlaar, Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker already sidelined through injury, the Villa boss is sweating on the fitness of Ciaran Clark after the centre-half was forced off during injury time of yesterday’s draw at Burnley.

Crystal Palace
Dwight Gayle was withdrawn just 21 minutes into the weekend draw at Swansea with a leg injury, though other sources also state he’s sustained a back problem. Gayle can be considered a doubt for Tuesday’s home clash with Villa, having started the last two league outings.

Hull City
Robbie Brady was replaced on 75 minutes of the Tigers’ loss at Old Trafford having sustained a knock, according to match reports.

Manchester City
City are sweating on the fitness of skipper Vincent Kompany after the defender suffered a hamstring injury in this afternoon’s win at Southampton. Post-match, Manuel Pellegrini – who also has Eliaquim Mangala suspended for the midweek trip to Sunderland – went on to say:

“We cannot know the situation at the moment. He has a problem with his hamstring. We will see with the doctor how important it is but at this moment, I cannot tell you exactly what he has. We will see.”

Man United
Angel Di Maria is almost certain to miss tomorrow’s home encounter with Stoke after being forced off just 13 minutes into the win over Hull with his own hamstring injury. Wayne Rooney is also nursing a calf complaint ahead of the Potters clash, though Louis van Gaal is a little more optimistic on his captain’s chances of being available:

“Angel shall be out for Stoke, I think. Wayne, I don’t know. He has already told me he wants to play against Stoke, but Rooney always says that. We will know in 48 hours..”

Newcastle United
The Magpies are sweating on the fitness of right-back Daryl Janmaat, who was forced off with a hamstring injury in the 1-0 loss at West Ham. Alan Pardew has also confirmed Rob Elliott will take his place between the sticks “for the next four or five games” due to Tim Krul’s ankle injury.

QPR
The R’s budget left-back Yun Suk-Young was replaced on 51 minutes of the 3-2 win over Leicester after sustaining a knee injury. Bobby Zamora missed out altogether with a slight back injury.

Southampton
Jack Cork was unavailable for today’s home loss to City due to illness, whilst Morgan Schneiderlin was forced off after sustaining a leg injury. After the match, Ronald Koeman rolled out an update on the midfield pair ahead of the midweek trip to Arsenal:

“He [Morgan] had an injury in his upper right leg, we have to wait, maybe we will know tomorrow [Monday] about if he will be okay for Wednesday. Jack I hope will be back, we need the players.”

Stoke City
Mark Hughes also has worries in central midfield ahead of the trip to Old Trafford. Steve Sidwell was withdrawn during the first half of yesterday’s loss at Liverpool with a knee problem, whilst replacement Glenn Whelan was subbed off at the break with a calf complaint. After the match, the Potters boss was pessimistic on both players’ chances of making it in time for the trip to United:

“We’ve got a game on Tuesday and it’s highly unlikely either will be available. Whether it was because he didn’t have an opportunity to warm up prior to coming on I don’t know, but he (Whelan) has pulled his calf unfortunately.”

Tottenham Hotspur
Vlad Chiriches limped out of this afternoon’s home win over Everton and was replaced by Erik Dier midway through the second period. Kyle Naughton is back from suspension for Wednesday’s trip to Stamford Bridge so the Spurs right-back situation is a little cloudy to say the least.

West Brom
The Baggies left-back Sebastien Pocognoli was forced off with a leg problem towards the end of yesterday’s home loss to Arsenal. Alan Irvine rolled out an update after the match:

“Seb has a dead leg, we think. He and Chris Brunt slid in at the same time and it seems he came off worse. All we can do now is assess him and see how he is. Dead legs can be a problem because you never know how quickly they will settle down.”

Stuck on the bottom of the last
It's been a long while lads but I'm done with uni for the year and looking for some advice 🙂
I Desperately need to get Ulloa out - thinking of doing Ulloa and Chadli --> Welbeck and Boyd.
I want to keep Chadli but struggling to look past his recent injury and barely tempting fixtures.

    Krul Elliot
    Terry Taylor Bertrand Wisdom Dummett
    Oscar Fabregas Siggy Sanchez Chadli
    Aguero Pelle Ulloa
    0ITB and 2 FT

Any advice is much appreciated 🙂 Cheers

Bit of injury/suspension crisis at the moment.

Any thoughts on how to get me out of my current predicament? Currently sit 1 point ahead in my mini league which is all that matters.

    Green
    Dummett, Bertrand, Baines, Duff
    Siggy, Haz, Chadli
    Austin, Aguero

    McCarthy, ADM, Costa, Cork

    1FT 0.7ITB

Natural thought is to replace ADM. Thoughts welcome?

A.) ADM ---> Hazard. (can't afford Baines unless I downgrade Sanchez, Aguero / Costa in future, which I'd rather not now)

    To the United experts:

If Falcao starts, does this mean Rooney would drop into the hole or be played further back? Di Maria is also out so I am not sure how they would line up - maybe he would play up front with Falcao or would that be RVP?

Bottom line, if Rooney is fit, I am considering doing the Costa - Rooney move for -4 - just not so sure about it being a good move or great move?

Falcao Falcao what to do with a problem called Ramadel!
Since we lost @ Leicester Lois has realised he can't play all attack and steadily have improved all round tactically.
For me Rvp/Rooney/Falcao don't all fit in the 1 team, if the 3 were to start Rvp will play out wide with Fslcao up top and Rooney in the hole behind with the likes of Afro/Herrera/Carrick behind him.
For me Wayne will always pick up points and is a very good Fpl pick in an improving attacking team and of all the strikers he's nailed on for penos and is a bonus darling too got good measure.
Finally I feel he can match Costa for points and is (c) material if you need him to step up.

😛 shocking week watching the points dribble in one end and dribble out the other 😀

Think I'm just gonna save the transfer this week and play Bertrand if Duff is still out, then next week:

    De Gea > Foster
    Bertrand > Terry

    Decent moves?

Looks good.. I think I will save my transfer too and play Clyne if Duff is out 😀
Short rest between these games means risk of rotation, no point really to make a stupid transfer and take the risk to get a player on the bench. Only considering Costa - Bony to free up some cash to strenghten my bench.

Yup, agreed. I'm considering Clyne -> Naylor this week, but will probably save.

Yeah, havent figured out if I will keep Clyne or not. They still played solid defence yesterday and could keep a CS against anyone. Also, attacking potential. He is 100% nailed on too, which will be really important these couple of weeks.

No - too lightweight. I'll buy Austin but none of the others.

Needs to be Aguero, Roonpig and Austin imo. Two heavies bare minimum.

    Morning Lads,
    Who are we (c) ?
    A - Rooney
    B - Aguero
    C - Hazard

Aguero or Hazard. But i think the best combo is Aguero (c), Rooney (vc).

Aguero, havent scored in two leaguegames so its bound to happen. Great form still, looked good yesterday and was unlucky not to score

Hazard. Bit of a homeboy but could be anyone really.

Dont know how smart is that, and what i will do after midweek games, but i did for a -4 hit:
Costa and Adm out for Rooney and Yaya. Good or bad moves ?

With Spurs winning, Chadli won't come back straight to the starting lineup IMO.

    Bench role again midweek

None of the front four did anything wrong to get dropped.

Sub appearance for Chadli I think.

I had the same issue, now you have waited this long might aswell stick to your plan.

I'd Deal with ADM and Costa. I took this opportunity to draft in Aguero.

Another -4 hit just done. ADM Alcaraz -> Siggy Baines

Worth it, or time to dust off the shotgun..?

    Guzan (McCarthy)
    Baines Chambers Azpi
    Siggy(vc) Fabregas Sanchez Downing Boyd
    Kun(c) Austin

    Subs: Costa Bertrand Duff

Aguero but SUN's performance v CHS casts doubt in my mind. Siggy isn't quite reliable enough yet to be cap'n'cy material so go with Hazard.
