With the fall-out from Sergio Aguero’s injury reverberating around the Fantasy Football community, it’s time to distract ourselves from our return to the drawing board and resume the Gameweek action.

A pair of Premier League encounters await, with events beginning at the Boleyn Ground as Swansea City clash with West Ham. A battle of two in-form teams harbouring top six ambitions, the Hammers go into this match with just one defeat in the last eight, while the Swans’ have also suffered just one setback in their previous six league outings. Fantasy managers will of course be hoping that the 50% owned Gylfi Sigurdsson can help rescue the Gameweek with midfield returns, while Wilfried Bony will likely be auditioning as the potential Sergio Aguero replacement, once the City’s striker’s prognosis is confirmed.

Later today, Villa meet Leicester City in a midlands derby that, while bereft of Fantasy talent, could yet prove of interest with Christian Benteke now presenting an option up top. The Belgian returned to the scoresheet to earn the three points at Palace in midweek and, should he also put the Foxes to the sword, there’s little doubt that Benteke will be another name considered in the light of Aguero’s injury scare.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Are they allowed to take the handball into account?

      1. Wilshere Knowledge

        11 years, 2 months ago

        I don't think so.

And he blew the whistle before Sakho had the shot, so they will likely leave it for the referees interpretation.

        1. Deep Sea Amphipod
          • 12 Years
          11 years, 2 months ago

It's all pretty stupid. If you're going to make a retrospective decision, the referee's interpretation is really rather irrelevant. We know it was handball, rescind it.

          1. Wilshere Knowledge
            • 12 Years
            11 years, 2 months ago

But if, for example, Ki got fouled, but it wasn't given as a foul and from that wrongful dispossession West Ham went through on goal and got fouled, and therefore get a red card, you can't take the Ki moment under consideration, because otherwise every appeal would have to take into account a load of different factors. The amount of time between the incidents is irrelevant.

Secondly, I think it was neither intentional, nor were his arms in an unnatural position, so I don't think it was technically a handball.

            1. Wilshere Knowledge
              • 12 Years
              11 years, 2 months ago

And by interpretation, I mean the interpretation that Fabianski stopped a goal scoring opportunity. It is subjective, but I think he got it right.

I'm certain they've rescinded bans before after an appeal? There'd be no point in having the appeal system then? Or am I off?

Same thoughts. I think it's worth it because I'll want to do it again the week after and will end up taking a hit then. Sooner rather than later is better.

      Must be a Newcastle supporter.

He has 3 Newcastle players in his team and probably decided that he had a better chance of getting the game-week top score if he didn't have 6 players from the same match in his first eleven.

He may also have looked at Chelsea's recent record at Newcastle.

      And it's a differential.

      What makes you think that?

He's still 3 BPS ahead of his nearest rivals according to the FPL website.
