What a side Walshy, nothing else to say really.
Save it for sure, for what looks like a rather "cautionary" GW

Captaincy will swing it big this GW imo, I'd ponder over that more than anything bud

Spurs shots in box conceded make for awful reading yet I'm considering Bavies for the next 2, then benched for the 2 after that.

I guess not a whole ton available in that price bracket, but can't help but think it's a bad idea as well as a potential transfer waiting to happen.

Considering selling Jagielka, but for whom?
    A) Naylor
    B) Wisdom
    C) Yun
    D) O'Shea
    E) Someone else

My def is: DDG; Azpilicueta, Bertrand, Coloccini, Hutton.
This move will enable to be do Bertrand to Demi or upgrade Marney next week.

Thoughts here please? Defence has been letting me down recently (4 points this week including GK) but not sure what to do.

    Forster
    Baines, Naylor, Yun
    Haz, Cesc, Sanchez, Yaya
    Rooney, Kane, Sakho

    Subs: Mccarthy, Siggy, CDawson*, Moore*

    1 FT, 0.6 itb

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

Really tough. I guess you could get away with saving and reassessing that defense next week with two frees as Naylor isn't a terrible play at Hull. Your front looks good though but yeah that defense needs work. I can't really see a clear cut great option in the sub-5.0 option at defense right now so I am struggling to give you a recommendation. Perhaps Cissokho could be a good move in for Dawson next week.

Yeah O'Shea is good for next week too but not amazing going forward. Considering Forster + Dawson to Panti + Demichelis maybe next week but 2 FTs gone on defensive players is a bit painful! Definitely need to sort that out though. Cheers Walsh.

Yeah I like that Panti and Demi option a lot. I like Panti by a mile over any Sunderland defender because he always seems to get save points and they keep cleans against unlikely opponents. I think that is a good plan.

Agreed here, my attention would be leaning towards the defense for the following GW
Frontline looks great, Siggy isn't a burden in your side. Though alarm bells would be ringing for a Downing switch if he shows no real quality against a measly Hull side.

Save the FT for sure mate, great defense for the coming GW.
You'll in a great position with the 2 trannies next week, who knows what will come 😉

Understand the Miralles thing but still sell. Everton not keeping clean sheets at home to QPR. Too much money invested in a defender with poor chances of clean sheets

They were seriously unlucky not to get a cs tonight so I wouldn't base a sell argument on that. Besides the fact they never looked like conceding despite missing their four first choice def mids the only reason the conceded was due to a ref mistake in nit awarding them an obvious free kick.

Fair enough, but when Dummet, Chester and Pogoclini have more clean sheets than him i do think Everton defence is not tha great

Yeah it has not been so far this year tbf but they have been distracted/hampered by the Europa league to date which is now finished until Feb. They have also been decimated by injuries so far which is probably as a result of the extra games brought about by being involved in Europe.

Baines also has his attacking threat which was hampered hugely by mirallas who took some of his set pieces and occupied the space baines used to attack into also.

        2. rickardinho
          • 11 Years
          11 years, 1 month ago

          There's two factors that matter:

          1. CS potential - only kept 2cs's in 11, and didn't do the job vs HUL or QPR. Tricky fixtures ahead against teams with good attacks: sou STO new

          2. Baines' attacking stats are absolutely terrible when Mirallas plays compared to when he doesn't. Most of Baines' assists come from open play, but when Mirallas plays LM then there is virtually no link-up play for Baines to penetrate. We're left only hoping for a penalty, which is a bit silly when we could have Zabaleta cleaning up CS's vs CPL wba BUR SUN instead.

any love for nasri here given how good he's looked and potential for advanced role? one of the most frustrating FPL players in recent years for me but can see him causing damage the next few weeks

I'd suggest going for banker players not gambles if you are trying to sort your team out. If your team was in great shape you could punt on the likes of nasri but not for you imo

thanks, looks like you're in a similar situation to me with out of favour/injured players. eriksen seems the obvious candidate, leaves me with funds to get anyone except rvp, who i don't want anyway. what changes are you looking at?

We've already had 16 gw's of that experiment though, with VERY obvious results.

gw's5-11 compared to 1-4 or 12-16 throws up +10 in kpi's and 86% better in favour of when Mirallas doesn't play. Landslide.

    1. money face bandwagon
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

not afraid..imo its just the perception of a goal or OG imo.

its always good to award a goal rather than always giving OG right? OG seems more like a personal mistake made by a player. On the other hand, a goal is more positive.

u can see that whenever possible they would rather award a goal than to give an OG especially on close call.

      1. DRAFTSNAKE
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 1 month ago

It's better to award an own goal IMO then defenders will stop making stupid cowardly blocks in under the pretence of trying to block a ball. If they get their name in the paper with own goal next to it then we might start seeing some better defending. I'd have given all three as own goals, Vargas's sheepish jump in that wall was worthy of the scorer going on record as 'Vargas (OG, big girl's blouse)'

Right now I'd be happy with that. A bit of talk about big Terry being the man along with McCall.

      Not a snowballs chance mate.

Ye haven't the money to pay off Sally how on earth do you think ye can afford to pay a proper manager.

Reserve team boss (durie is it?) likely promoted imo

Well get promoted easy....might not have money but a better challenge for Pulis than fighting relegation every year surely?

What does he want a challenge for when he can have the 2m+ a year epl managers salary.

Btw managing a diddy club in Scotland is not much of a challenge anyway. Even Walter Smith, mcleish and lennon looked like decent managers up there.

      No.
Not yet, at least. Would play out AdM first.
Following week I'd make the move if he shows some serious signs of form.

I would actually do Mata -> Silva.
I asked to see if people think that Mata would get dropped once ADM is fit.

No, unless its to get Hazard or Sanchez and tbh neither of those would need to be done this week.

LVG first team is unstable, its not impossible that he would find a place for Mata and ADM given Mata ongoing knack of scoring.

Id give it a game anyway but keep an exit strategy in mind.

Have Sanchez and max out on Chelsea.
        It would be for Silva.
Mata and ADM played together this season, but I think it was when Rooney was suspended.

      😯

I did have a long chat with him regarding this some time ago. I was dubious too, but he persuaded me otherwise.

The one you really need to look at is The Fantasy Freak 😉 He is having his "first season" too, but I caught him red handed!

I wish I could remove my 'first season' which consisted of the final 5-6 gameweeks or something as I tried out the game!

I remember that conversation you had with TFF.

Regarding Rick, I feel the same. The level of knowledge he has in FPL makes me think he's no Rookie. Even though I found out FFS in January end of my 1st season I struggled throughout rest of that season to cope with the intensity of this game. I didn't know this game has such depth at the time. This guy knows everything & he says it's his 1st season.

Regardless of his history he is certainly contributing positively to the forum..so it really does not matter how many seasons he plays.

I do not see what he will gain by hiding his history by creating new accounts

Can i ask where people put Rangers and Celtic in terms of size of club? Obviously Rangers going through a bad time but surely a bigger club than teams like Arsenal and City?
