As many of you may have noticed, the EA Sports Index has already been published on the Premier League site. This, of course, is how the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will break down the Bonus Points in this season’s game.

Many of the names are as we anticipated, though what’s something of a surprise is Shay Given, with 5 saves in Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw at Fulham, looks as though he’s earned no Bonus Points, despite keeping the Cottagers at bay. Newcastle’s Steven Taylor, on the other hand, is the top-rated player on the Index for the goalless Newcastle-Arsenal game. Wigan’s Victor Moses, Man of the Match in many press sources with 9 successful dribbles and 3 shots, is also likely to miss out.

As expected, goal scoring is the main factor- by the looks of things, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Ivan Klasnic and Steven Fletcher are the highest-rated players on the EA Sports Index for their respective games and seem set to grab all 3 Bonus Points.

Fantasy Football Scout will, of course, be breaking down the Bonus in full for the Premier League and you can expect our article on the matter to be published later today.

According to the FPL, de Gea and Foster only played 81 mins. Surprised there wasnt more goals in the last 9mins.

Anyway, just learned from it that in the case of a tie in the BPs:
Tie for first place: players A&B: 3 points, player C 1 point
Tie for second place: player A:3pts, players B&C: 2 pts
Tie for third place: player A:3pts, player B:2pts, players C&D:1pt

Seems like some people could get some jammy luck...

        Yeah, there's something a bit fishy about it. Someone tweeted it earlier so I thought they were correct. They talk about the FPL technical team being busy sorting stuff out, and about deciding on prices for Aguero as if they're on the inside, but I'm now sceptical.

Hey Epic Fail do u got some fair idea of thesee PPI..i mena it was quite surprising with some players PPI..can actually look out hwo it works and can select some BP whores too...:)

So with this changes to the crapy website and server, and this changes to bonus points, which only makes players who scored goals to score even more points, this probably will be the worse FPL year ever.... If they keep it like this next year, I don't think I will play...

  Players that score goals don't always get bonus points Hoolahan for example, no one yet knows the formula.
  
  Bottom line is, the game is free and no one is forcing you to play it. So if you don't like the new system don't play.

Had a little thought - if EA have FPL then they will surely allow you to put teams into FIFA at some point...

At which point we realise just how bad the ENTIRE scoring system is as we find ourselves getting thrashed without the unsung players who out in the shifts - decent defenders, def mids etc.

What happens then???

  try your team ID. It's in your URL on your points page. I am not 100% that it's the team ID they want (I think a registered with the whole URL) but that was a long time ago and when I try to login now I just get a "We are currently experiencing heavy load. Please refresh in a few seconds" message

All of the top 6 ranked PI scores were goal scorers on winning teams.

Rooney is a must.

Suarez was joint 6th despite not winning, he could therefore be a bonus darling (from his other contributions to the game).

  It gives you six factors that contribute towards the PPI. Only one of them is actual performance.
  
  Goals scored, assists, and clean sheets count for half of it. Apparently, that means things you already get points for count for half of the Bonus points this year.

Have been away for the weekend so just a quick question. Are the points going to be updated in real time this season as the matches are being played? And where to you go on the FPL site to check the bonus points?

The new FPL site definitely doesn't seem as user friendly as the old one.

Whole heartedly behind all the sh!t people are directing towards Fpl. Lock outs on the vital days, bizzare bonus point systems, people can see transfers, Bolton gk with 24 bonus points.

I know FPL will be reluctant to change the bonus system due to it being done by EA. However, they must see it's flawed terribly. Surely a quick revamp must be an option?
