We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening and serve up some of the most impressive numbers from New Year’s Day. QPR, Swansea, Aston Villa and Man City’s strikers arrive under the radar, whilst we also cast an analytical eye over in-form midfielders from Spurs, Leicester and West Brom.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I'm really struggling to pick my midfield on WC.. I want Hazard, AJ, Fabregas, Di Maria and Sanchez but it's a bit strong, would leave me with 2 cheap strikers and Falcao, anyone else thinking along the same line or anyone think I'm mad?

Would make sense but I really want him and there isn't a whole lot of strikers with the 7.2 I'd have left

I can afford all of them with AJ instead of Boyd bar Austin who I don't want. But now you mention it I think Ings could be the final piece of my first WC draft

My front 8 could like this

      Haz // Fab // Sanchez // ADM // Chadli
      Austin // Falcao // Kane

So similar problem.Bit worried about bench problems and also RVP and Boyd instead of Falcao and Chadli allows a straight swop for Aguero

    ............Austin ᶠ Bony ᶠ Kane

    WC is active..

    A. Rooney and Fabs

    or

    B. Costa and Di Maria

Im leaning towards A because Rooney has blanked the last 2 gwks and i believe he is due a good points return. I also feel despite his deep role, he will flourish more when ADM returns in CM allowing him to possibly push forward more.

Fabregas is unbelievably consistant and has been excellent all season and is currently outscoring Costa. In that sense i feel i dont really need costa as Fabs is just as prolific with his point returns.

    what do i do??

Same dilemma here, although I'm going for Falcao over Rooney. I much prefer Fab to Costa but he's harder to fit in with all the options in midfield

If had to choose out of those two I'd go B......who are your it her forwards? Ideally I'd want fab and adm with Aguero as big hitter up top. Falcao or RVP might be a nice place holder. Costa if you tint already have three Chelsea inc fab, which seems unlikely.

            Thanks Sess! very helpful.

To give u a better idea my current team is as follows.

            De Gea Hamer
Bertrand Terry Koscielny Wisdom Van Aanolt
            Hazard Sanchez Fabregas Chadli Boyd
            Rooney Kane Austin

1.9m in the bank and Rooney is a place holder for Aguero.

Like u said i already have 3 chelsea.

u think i should leave it as it is then pal?

Hmmm, tough one. Can't see panti being dropped, but there's always the chance if injury or suspension. Alternatively you could go fostef/myhill which saves 0.2 and would allow you to get Hutton or Clark......I do love panti though and would favour keeping him over anything else.

In 94/95, Louis van Gaal’s Ajax team, with an average age of 23, went the entire season unbeaten and defeated Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final.

Not sure why its so shocking that he wants to transition to a more youthful team. Hardly unprecedented.

The squad was in disarray after years of glazernomics, a period of big spending was/is needed to catch city/chelsea quickly

Ignore the trolls. United needed immediate investment to get back on track and in the CL and this doesn't conflict at all with LVG's desire to have a young team. At 26 years old, Di Maria was our oldest purchase this summer (28 y/o Falcao was a loan).

Utd fans...do you think LvG will start Di Maria? Will he deem him first enough?

He gave him half an hour V Yeovil when there wasn't really any need to risk any injury, so I reckon he's good to go and considering how tough the next game is he should be good to start.

Record transfer fee, no European competition to worry about, top 4 is imperative for them this season.

If he's fit to play he has to play.

I think so..LVG says he wants all his players to train for 2 weeks before starting and he will have had another week following the FA Cup match before Soton

Right lads, my first draft at a WC team. I'm ranked really badly but a bit of sensible play should get me to a somewhat respectable rank before long, then hopefully my differentials will kick in.

    Foster Hamer
    Terry Bertrand Hutton Lescott Wasilewski
Hazard Di Maria AJ Fabregas Sanchez
    Falcao Kane Ings

First thing most people will point out is obviously double WBA - but with Pulis and their fixtures I'm prepared to chance it.
Secondly, front line is a bit weak but I feel Kane and Ings are as good as all the strikers outside the premium lot at the moment, Ings and AJ rotate will meaning it should be easy to pick between them.

I know this is a bit of an essay and I know everyone posts RMT's but pleaaaase tell me what you think, cheers.

When you pressing the WC button?

Doesn't leave you and easy move to get Aguero in when fit, this will be essential.strategy.

Prefer Austin long term to Ings.
Falcao is a punt that leaves you low value in forwards
      Don't like Leicester defence.

My team's an absolute mess at the moment so it has to be this week, I don't have any leeway on that.
Long term plan for Aguero is to shift whichever big mid isn't performing and probably Ings.
I prefer Ings to Austin, think his returns will dry up with the fixtures, and can't afford him anyway.
Wasil will probably rarely play for me, I intend on playing Bertrand most weeks, Wasil is cheap and covers his tough fixtures.
        Cheers

Very nice. Has to be a Che and Sot def with WBM and Villa etc rotating. I'm aiming for something similar myself. My normal team before WC is not too far off

I always expected to play my WC after GW23 but now thinking I may as well do it now as long as I have room for Kun when he comes back, is there any reason to wait?

    A) Pantilimon, 4.0, Bertrand, Siggy
    B) Pantilimon, Heaton, Aldeweireld, Downing

This is on my WC in GW23. Pretty sure A is the better option because Downing has horrible fixtures after GW23. Thoughts?

I answered this earlier today and I still feel the same like I'd rather have Sigurdsson than Downing due to fixtures.

Thoughts on this future WC team?

    Foster - Myhill
    Terry - Clichy - Alderweireld - Hutton - PVA
Sanchez - Hazard - Di Maria - Sigurdsson - Boyd
    Costa - Falcao - Kane

(1.8 ITB) to do Falcao > Aguero when he is back 😀
