We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening and serve up some of the most impressive numbers from New Year’s Day. QPR, Swansea, Aston Villa and Man City’s strikers arrive under the radar, whilst we also cast an analytical eye over in-form midfielders from Spurs, Leicester and West Brom.

In two weeks I'm going to have Chadli and Kane vs my foster and wisdom. Fml.

What do you do in situations like this ?!?!?

      Drop wisdom
If spurs are going to score against your keeper you want the points so two players increase chances

    b) Austin + Silva

I´ll try this with a new crowd. Any reasoning would be appreciated, thx.

    Regardless of rest of team.
Do you (and why?) think that downgrading Fabs to Chadli, which allows me to upgrade Wasilewski to Terry and Toby to Bertrand/Clyne would be more then made up in points?

This of course means Terry would play every week and Bertrand/Clyne almost every week. Rest of defense would be the likes of PVA, Hutton, Cameron, Lescott most just above 4m so 1 of these would be picked every week.
With Fabs instead of Chadli and no Terry I would have to play 2 out of 3 of cheap defenders cause Wasilewski would just be benchfodder.

My advice keep fabregas. I have been burnt by so many premium defenders, baines, Zab, Moreno , azpi, they just are not always worth it.

This is the strategy from two years ago and I feel it's right this year too.

ok... Well you have a point as I too have been burnt this season by the likes of Baines, Kolarov and Zaba.
But I am so very tempted to do the Chadli route as he is just 20pts behind Fab and Terry I feel is quite secure, but it is a cunundrum and I´m lost

If Chadli carries on scoring it would be a genius move but the question is, will he keep on scoring? You know what you are getting with Fab

Also very true, Fabs is without a doubt the safest choice... Sigh

Cheap options aren't necessarily bad. Wasilewski is a bad option and I don't understand why he is in so many teams - you may as well field 10 players. All the others, given the right fixture are more than capable of keeping a CS and shouldn't be dismissed because of their price tag.

True chea aint automaticly bad, but Wasilewski would never start and just be benchfodder

My point being if you can squeeze in cheap options from good teams (non lei, bur, QPR) and keep Fab. Do it.

Don't think so. Not according to fpl stats. Not 100% sure tbh

Yeah might as well wait to see if downing gets through unscathed

Hard to tell with active WCs but I don't think so. Does that game impact your changes?

I have downing so I should wait in case of injury. I'd need to make 3 changes otherwise which might change who I bring in

    How's this..,,,

    Foster
    Terry - Hutton - Skrtel
    Sánchez - Hazard - Chadli - Saggy
    Rooney - Kane - Austin

    (Heaton - Boyd - Baines - Dummet ) 5.4 itb

    Tempted to captain Austin...?

Nice team. But brace capping Austin I think. Haz is the safe bet.

      Don't captain austin

      Hazard will suffice

After his team just got bummed 3-0 by Sheffield Utd ? Nah

      GtG 🙂

I'm quite confident with Austin this week, I'm secretly happy with all the sellings and benchings. Not sure I'd captain him over Hazard or Sanchez this week though.

The Hazard 1 goal limit (in my head) makes Austin appealing..
Burnley vs Qpr has 3-2 QPR written all over it in my head

I can see Burnley QPR being high scoring as well. Hazard does have an edge in that his goals are worth 5pts, and he benefits from the CS point. Newcastle are Pardew-less and hit by injuries as well. It's difficult to weigh it all up.

Yeah Haz is my captain at the moment.. I'd love to chance him blanking and get a nice differential captain score though.
Sure enough Austin will get at least one to make it a safe bet

Nice group of defenders you have there. Risky to bench Haines though

Just got rid of Zaba for Skrtel .. Zaba was a nightmare
Keeping Baines for next week.. Everton look so bad I can do without him vs City

Yeah I was just thinking of his attacking potential and pens. City seem a bit lembargo at the moment too. Bit hard to know who to bench

Talking about drafts in general. Loads of RMWCTs going around. C1C, FA Cup + EL/UCL commitments mean they hardly get 2 one week breaks..it's like the Xmas period on repeat

So how's my team looking for next week ? Still unsure about my def/bench order?

    Adrian
    Zabaleta, Hutton, Terry
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Sigurdsson
    Austin, Costa, Kane

Boyd, Naylor, Davies 0ft and 5.2 itb

      Seems fine as is...
The only thing that might backfire is Siggy before Boyd but it is a coin toss and with Song in Africa you probably are correct on that
