We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening and serve up some of the most impressive numbers from New Year’s Day. QPR, Swansea, Aston Villa and Man City’s strikers arrive under the radar, whilst we also cast an analytical eye over in-form midfielders from Spurs, Leicester and West Brom.

2 FTs got the upcoming GW - first will be used to complete Baines > Lescott

Pre-WC use, should I replace Downing with:
    - Sterling
    - Cazorla
    - Chadli
    - Mata? (game time may take a hit with ADM back)

    Appreciate any thoughts

Pretty generic, but RVP as a placeholder for Aguero any good?

    Foster Panti

Terry Bertrand Van aanholt Wisdom Hutton

Sanchez Hazard Fab Di Maria Boyd

    RVP Kane Austin,

Going to bring in Aguero for RVP GW24

Got RVP in for GW 16 and held since, he's solid but frustrating to own.

Tried to get this going a couple pages back. With various cup commitments making 2 matches a week the norm (especially for Chelsea, Spurs and Pool who are still in the C1C). Does it make sense to heavily invest in their players?

My current draft had that too but Chelsea have Poolx2, PSG and possibly Spurs in the C1C final. How many matches can Costa / Hazard / Cesc play on the bounce every 3/4 days?

Hazard and Cesc will start all PL games IMO. Costa may miss one or two at the most.

as long as they keep scoring lots of goals and their defences are up to it, why not! Just means more rotation danger but Jose has shown that IMHO premier league is his absolute priority. Might get tough for them if they reach the latter stages of the CL

He isn't going to start Remy vs PSG. May have to against Pool but doubt that too. My main issue is rotation

You have to admire his persistence with this theme. Great use of acronyms and showing exquisite knowledge of the finer points of FF, here TT03 turns what could be a fairly workmanlike query into a true existential challenge. What he is really asking it seems, is simply "DOES IT MAKE SENSE"

It's the same every year but the top players from the top clubs continue to score well. The skill is to understand how each manager uses his squad.
      For example
Wenger barely rotates and flogs his best players until broken
Mourinho rotates some but very rarely the untouchables
Pelle is hard to read making investing in city risky
Spurs mostly use a b team in Europe

Arsenal and City have a pretty easy schedule this month - nice recovery period before Feb (which is similar for all of them). And have players coming back from long lay offs. Chelsea and spurs aren't really getting a rest. Chelsea in particular (since they have Liverpool in the cup).
Spurs, that has been the case so far, but teams like Fiorentina in the EL may demand Kane/Eriksen/Chadli to feature.

Had a great couple of weeks and feeling invincible (usually when some cheese goes down), got 2ft's and 1.5m ITB best way of using them?

    Panti (Elliot)
    Taylor, Hutton, SCHLUPP, MANGALA, Yun
Sanchez, Hazard (c), Silva, Downing, S.Davis
    RVP, Costa, Kane

Schlupp has AFCON/injured it seems and citeh poor fixtures/defence
So Schlupp + Mangala > Trippier and Cameron leaving 3.0ITB and taking m up to winter wildy?

I think that Elia will be classified as a midfielder for Saints for 5.5 mil, but Shane Long should start on the wing while Mane is out. Elia, when coming on as an impact sub, will be too focused on doing multiple step over dribbles instead of scoring goals or assisting.

Perhaps, but he has failed to live up to the hype since being named 'young player of the year' for FC Twente a while back. Stints at Hamburg, Juventus, and Werder Bremen haven't been prolific. He has a lot to prove. He does have skill, without a doubt, but his decision making ability is often what's questionable.

Should I WC with so many yellow cards (Janmaat, Clyne, Vlaar, Sakho) and Yaya AND Krul?

I can actually get away with a decent team for -4 (change Yaya and Vlaar)

But am wondering whether to do yay to Boyd and Sakho to RVP or Costa and then Wc for the defence....

But am kind of happy with waiting for Janmaat et al to get better

This, a -8 w/ an obligatory WC Gw24 max, is fighting an uphill battle imo
Especially since most top teams have uninspiring fixtures short-term

I would to play it more conservatively right now, more room for error & lower chance to recoup multiple hits in 3 Gw's

          For the 90s:

Murali for Ambrose - play two spinners.

Gilchrist over Boucher, and Kallis over Chanderpaul, surely?

Could argue for Sangakarra or Ponting over S. Waugh on batting ability.

Would also open with Dravid over Jayasuria, not a vintage 20 years for openers compared to middle order and Dravid's technique is the best I've ever seen.

Wasim Akram has to be there too, genius he was.

Hayden, Dravid, Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar, Kallis, Gilchrist, Warne, Akram, McGrath, Murali

That is a more balanced team than mine I like it , with Kallis can afford the 2 spinners and 3 seamers, ahh yh Akram and Waquar Younis early 90s reverse swing was unplayable , Mohammed Yousaff(Youhanna) was a great batsmen too

Cheers, yeah only Sobers and maybe Hadlee are on Kallis' level as an all rounder in history.

He was, particularly later in his career. Lot of class has to miss out with these things though, Sangakkara pretty close in my opinion.

What would your world XV be for rugby at the moment, based on the past 12 months?

              Hazard, Sterling, Eriksen, Sanchez, Silva
              Costa, Kane, Giroud

No idea. Perhaps for the Argentinians, especially for that wonder goal @ WC2006. Very solid, but not one the best in his position, unlike Makalele.

Yep that's more or less bang on , it's the use of 3 Chelsea spots where the key we will be , those with Fab and Costa will have to gamble on cheap defense , those with Fab and defender have to hope they can find the in form 3rd striker ahead of the curve

                Alexis - Fab - Silva - Boyd - Hazard
