Hull’s hopes for survival have been rocked with confirmation that Nikica Jelavic faces a minimum of six weeks on the sidelines after successfully undergoing knee surgery. Steve Bruce has also revealed that Liam Rosenior, James Chester, Mo Diame and Robbie Brady returned to training yesterday but the weekend clash against Chelsea is likely to come too soon.
Garry Monk welcomes back Federico Fernandez for the trip to Villa, with the Argentine returning to the squad after missing out against Liverpool for family reasons.
Villa, meanwhile, remain without Ron Vlaar due to a calf problem, with Tim Sherwood confirming there is no change to the injury situation following last week’s victory.
