Monitor – Eden Hazard

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Mark

Eden Hazard was a Fantasy force of nature in the opening weeks of the season. The Belgian simply swept through defences with pace and trickery that tempted tackles and earned him a string of early assists. Huge Fantasy investment followed, making him the most sought after player in both the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and Sky Sports games in the opening fortnight.

Since then, however, Hazard has dwindled as a source of points. Three consecutive blanks have offered scant reward for his investors and with the likes of Gareth Bale and Santi Cazorla now tempting acquisitions, Hazard’s owners are contemplating the merits of holding firm for a run of testing fixtures to come.

In this latest members article, we examine Hazard’s statistics over the opening three weeks and run a comparison with his recent form for both goal threat and creativity. Crucially, we also focus on Chelsea as a whole in an attempt to identify why the Belgian has declined and whether this indicates an immediate concern for his frustrated Fantasy owners…

    SuperGrover says:

“Hazard was rested to the bench for Tuesday’s Champions League tie, handed a late second half sub role to keep him fresh for the Canaries clash”

Really? That is why he was benched? The logic is that De Mateo is benching his best players for UCL matches to ensure they are fresh for home clashes against Norwich?

    Yeah, not buying.

    Cubillas says:

Any concerns that the three EPL teams, ‘pool, Spurs and Newcastle, playing Europa today, Thursday, may rest some of their players for the upcoming EPL matches?

I would suspect that there may be some disappointed EPL managers when their players don’t get in or, worse, make short cameo appearances on the weekend.

    Hey guys,

A little new to this, but I wanted some advice on who to bring on this week. I am trying to decide between finally bringing on Leighton Baines, a different goalie or trying to snag a forward so I can play a 3-4-3 instead of a 3-5-2 (which I’m currently using). I have 3.5 in the bank so I have some room to work with, I can also risk it and save my FT. Any advice would be greatly appreciated…my team is below:

    Schwarzer (Rudd)
    McAuley Cole Reid (Clyne, Pearce)
Bale Hazard Santi Cazorla Michu Noble
    Torres Fletcher (Pogrebnyak)
