Moneyball – Raheem Sterling

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Chris Glover

The term ‘Moneyball’ should not become a synonym for “obscure” as value can sometimes still be found in even the brightest of spotlights. Therefore, having highlighted some fringe Fantasy prospects in the first few entries in this series, we will turn our attention this week to somewhere well overdue some strong returns and Fantasy attention: Anfield.

  1. Is mata and Torres this week overkill..

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Yes, overkilling the Norwich defense that is!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. Not this week but next week probably

    4. Norwich at home... definitely not.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  2. Any chance we will get city team news before the early kick off?

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Not an hour and a quarter beforehand.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  3. Comparing HBA and Fellaini, who's the better choice for the next 5 weeks or so??
On HBA for now, but EVE'e form could be a concern.

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Anyone else from those two teams that you currently have?

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. None from NEW! Have EVE cover in Baines and thinking of doing Fletcher > Jelly this week. It would then become a EVE triple!

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
          • 2 years, 19 days ago
          1. Thanks Detective!! :D #hidden identity

            • 2 years, 19 days ago
      2. Next 2 fellaini becaue MUN and SUN especially is not a pretty fixture for HBA. But GW9 NEW have a good run, and a lot of good home games if you check. But it is possible to have both players and still do well.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
        1. Its this thought that put me off Bale last week and made me pay! Another alternative would be to do Santi > Bale and get him back for Fellaini next week or so.

          • 2 years, 19 days ago
  4. De Gea, Begovic
    Cole, Lescott, Hangeland, Clyne, Fabio
Cazorla, Yaya Toure, Michu, Pienaar, Allen
    Torres, Defoe, Tevez

Recommend 2 free transfers... 0.9 in bank

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Do one transfer: Yaya -> Mata

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. Surely Allen has to go, he isnt fantasy gold the role he plays although he would be decent in the sky game with all his passing. So transfers should be allen to sterling and then lescott to vertongen, city might get a clean sheet but theres no guarantee on who plays in it except hart and kompany.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
  5. I think i'll save my transfer. Thoughts?

    Fed, Jaask
    Cuellar, Baines, Ridgewell, Saylor, Gunter
    Cazorla, Hazard, Dyer, McClean, Maloney
    Rvp, Tevez, Lambert

    Thanks

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. Jaask
        Baines, Gunter, Ridgewell
        Caz, Haz, Dyer, Maloney
        tevez, Rvp, Lambert (c)

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
        1. Ridgewell might not be fine. Rest looks fine.

          • 2 years, 19 days ago
          1. Thanks lat

            • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. What's the injry news or expected return for Saylor and cellar

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. Saylor is out not sure about cuellar but i'm happy enough leaving them on the bench

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. Save for the international week mate. Unless you wanted to do Dyer or McClean to Sterling to free up some funds to upgrade the other next week.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  6. Alright, i think i am set for the weekend.

    Begovic
    Gibbs Baines Rafael
    Hazard(vc) Michu Yaya Pienaar
    Berbatov RVP(c) Tevez

    Jussi Sterling Clyne Gorkss

Thoughts would be much appreciated lads.

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Not concerned bot a Berba 10 min cameo maybe?? Absolute beauty otherwise!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. I reckon with injury concern he either starts or is not safe to play at all.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. Team looks strong. Not tempted to go Yaya to Bale? I might be.

On a different point, I have written your name as LateRiser, as in one who wakes up late, but I've seen others write it as Lateriser, as if you Laterise people. Is it the latter, as in "I laterised that b*tch"? That would be cooler than the way I wrote it . . .

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. Ha I read it as the latter. interesting.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
      2. No cash to do that. FT already used. Its Late riser. One who wakes up late. Originally it was because i hit some form in the latter half of the season.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
    3. Brave to start Bego..But i could see a 0-0 boring game written all over it. And who did ya capt in t20 ?

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. I fancy Arsenal to score, always. Captained Watto. Big mistake.

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
        1. Gayle here..Gangnam style! :D

          • 2 years, 19 days ago
            • 2 years, 19 days ago
  7. Who to captain out of this bad bunch?:
    Baines
    RVP
    Fellani
    Michu?

    cheers :)

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
      • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. RVP. Newcastle's defence is going to seem weaker...

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. michu
i see him scorin a double!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  8. goodbye Noble u feckwit... u will never grace my team again, even if u r on penalties ( not confirmed ) u have been one of my worst players from a ff perspective

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Sterling? Ramirez?

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. sterling

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. Haha I bet getting rid feels good :)

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. brilliant and even of he does get a penalty I couldn't give a flying feck

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
          • 2 years, 19 days ago
    3. HAHA, I can't wait to get rid of him as well.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  9. Nolan OR Gervinho??

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. ID like both.

  10. Lost on last page

Your help on this would be really appreciated

In your opinions which is the best combo to have for the next few weeks

    A Rafael and Sahin
    B Olsson and Duff
    C Jagielka and Nolan

    Rest of Team

    Schwarzer Al-Habsi

    Gibbs Demel Gunter Cuellar

    Michu Hazard Pienaar Guthrie

    RVP Ba Fletcher

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
  11. which one to bench?

Shawcross (liv), Demel (ARS), Hangeland (sou)

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
  12. captain out of this 3..

    lambert
    jelavic
    torres

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Toss a coin between Jellyfish and Torres

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. That would depend on how many times you have been burnt by torres!!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. If I had those players to chose from, I would go for Lambert (been burnt too many times by torres)

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
  13. I see the scout tweet about saylor and colo being confirmed out, but haven't seen anything of the sort from my normal toon tweets. Am I missing something?

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. If its true, then as a toon fan and RVP denier I could be in for a very long day!!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
    2. neither played in the 3-0 win last night, i think its likely both will be out for MUN. Doesant look too good with williamson and perch against rooney and RVP. Will need a better showing from gutierrez back tracking and will rely on HBA and Ba to win.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. I'm hoping that the fact we didn't rest either perchinio or williamson, means that at least one of saylor or colo have a good chance of playing on sunday. But it could just as likely be because we simply don't have anyone else!!

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
  14. A little advice fellas:

    Mignolet(Fed)

    Rangel,Baines,Jenks(Cuellar,Gorkks)
    Bale,Michu,Haz,Fellaini,Gervinho
    Suarez,Jelavic(Fletcher)

    1. Jelavic or Bale imo

      nope looks good

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  15. Hey guys, any advice on who I should bench this week with this team?

    Vorm (Begovic)
    Baines, Clyne, Skrtel, McAuley, Hangeland
    Kagawa, Sterling, Pinaar, Yaya, Cazorla
    Ba, Tevez, Graham

Also, who should I captain? I'm thinking Yaya/Tevez, but I'm not sure ATM.

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Captain Ba. Expect goals in the game. Sterling on the bench for me!

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  16. What to choose:
    A) Bale, Cazorla, Mata, Silva in midfield
    or
    B) RVP as one of your forward?

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. I think you could get RVP and still manage to get to three of those midfielders with decent fourth and fifth midfielder.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
      1. Yes, I know - but I'm tempted to have all 4 :)

        • 2 years, 19 days ago
  17. i know these two trannies are risky but could pay off heavily

tevez > suarez & santi > bale. FREE

    what ya think
    ?

  23. I’m doing soooooooo badly this year, its shameful…..
Thinking of wildcarding this week…wouldn’t usually use it so early, but desperate times and all that.
What do you guys think to this?-

    Foster
    Ivanovic, Rangel, Baines
    Bale, Fellaini, Hazard C?, Ramirez
    RVP, Lambert, Vas Te

    Mccarthy, Demel, Clyne

Is this a goer do you think?? Or will I fall even further down the leagues of shame….

    • 2 years, 19 days ago
    1. Thats a good looking team. I have 9 of those players and I've been doing pretty good. Id say go for it if you feel you are that far behind.

      • 2 years, 19 days ago
  24. Who should I start?

    Ba home-MUN
    or
    Sterling home-STK

    • 2 years, 19 days ago

“Last year was quite open for me, I was in good positions, but I was quite lucky because I was getting free kicks and some penalties as well.”
