Moneyball – Marc Wilson

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Chris Glover

If ever there was a team to scrutinize for a Moneyball piece, it is Stoke. They’re unfashionable and uninspiring with a reported philosophy that is about as far from Fantasy Football as one can get. Such characteristics, though, give us an opportunity to find value, and it is to the Britannia where we’ll turn our attention this week.

  1. Who to bench of Rangel/Hughes/Yaya?

    1. Yaya. Both Rangel and Hughes look nice this week.

  2. Ohh, Berba fit, I hope he saves it for next week :?

    1. My front line is looking grand for this weekend :D

      Cue, 8pts between them :(

      1. RVP/Ba/Berba for me after this week, seriously can't wait until I do my next 3 transfers, my teams gonna look deeeeesunt

        1. whats your team going to look like?

          1. deeeeesunt

  3. This is my team:
    Begovic Foster
    Ivanovic/ Baines/Davies/Fonte/ _____
    Bale/Cazorla/Nolan/Michu/Sterling
    RVP/Lambert/Ba

I have 6.5 to spend, who is the best option to fill in the blank?
    a)Vert
    b)Rafael
c)Hughes (with lot of cash in bank)
    d)Wilson
e)Others (please state your choice thank you :) )

    1. Wilson gives you the same amount left in the bank ;) Go for Wilson.

  4. Who to bench Iva or yaya??

      1. yup. +1

  5. Who to transfer out to bring Berbatov in?

    A) Fletcher
    B) Aguero

No other sunderland or city in team FWIW

  6. Struggling for inspiration this week, team is:

    Begovic (Ruddy)
    Davies, Baines, Vermaelen, Demel (Clarke)
    Morrison, Hazard, Bale, (Guthrie, Fellaini)
    Aguero, Suarez, Fletcher

Thinking Fletcher and Fellaini out for Giroud and Nolan or just Fellaini to Gervinho. Very indecisive at moment - help needed! Took Cazorla out for Bale last GW and now worried not having any attacking coverage against them. Who's likely to be attacking line-up?

  7. Asked this earlier but Internet went down :( .

    A) Sterling and Ben Arfa

    Or

    B) Michu and Nolan

For part of my WC team.

  8. Any news on Liam Ridgewell? I'll have Gibbs out and Ridgewell a doubt, so may need to bring a defender in, if any more drop like a hotpot.

    1. Actually thinking about it, I'll probably play Lowton, anyway.

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
