Sky Sports Focus

Our regular Friday look at the Sky Sports Fantasy game sees a change at the top of the Scout League as Fantasy managers stake a claim for the overall top prize of 25K. We cast an eye over this week’s transfer market and look forward to tonight’s Fantasy Football club…

The Scout League

Charles Mouzon is the new top dog in the Scout League. Having climbed his way up the rankings in the last few weeks, he now has a three-point lead at the top – his side “Geordie Boys” sit on 672 points, 12th overall. Long-time leader Chris Tuck has finally been overtaken, then, though his side “Vuvuzela Symphony” are just three points off the pace. Paul Hennessey is back to occupy third spot; his “Hennessey’s Heroes” are four points further behind Chris.

At present, we have four of the top 20 managers in the overall rankings, with Lewis Nicklen also riding high. The gap at the top has opened up a little, though; Charles is 54 points behind the overall leader in the chase for the £25K top prize.

As you may have heard in this week’s ScoutCast, Granville enjoyed another fine week in the Sky Sports game and is now ranked above Mark for the first time this season. Andy still remains the top Scout contributor, however: he sits in 54th place in the Scout League, despite Granville’s 68 points ranking as the second top overall score in our league this week.

Overall, the Scout remains at the summit of the League of Leagues but our lead has been cut from 14 points down to six points, with our top five averaging 663.8 between them.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Marouane Fellaini is the most in-demand player ahead of Everton’s trip to Reading this weekend. The Belgian’s goal and assist in the 2-1 win over Sunderland earned him 15 points and with a price of 6.1, he’s been subject to over 32% of all trades in this week. Stoke’s resilience at the back has made Asmir Begovic a popular pick – the Bosnian stopper has soared to the top of the keeper rankings and subsequently drawn a raft of new interest. Over 27% of transfers made this week saw Begovic brought in with Michel Vorm and Ben Foster both suffering heavy sales – that pair were shipped out en masse following their Gameweek 11 absence; both were included in 16% of the transfers out made over the last seven days.

Luis Suarez’s form has seen him attract more interest that Robin Van Persie this week with the Liverpool man commanding 26% of the transfers in, with the Dutchman claiming 23%. Interestingly, Van Persie also suffered significant sales as managers presumably made the trade to Suarez: almost 15% of transfers made this week saw Van Persie move out of squads, perhaps a trend as folk seek a differential to close a mini-league gap. Even so, with United’s fixtures strong, that looks a major risk.

The Fantasy Football Club

The boisterous Jimmy Bullard joins Fenners and Merse on this week’s episode of the Fantasy Football Club : it should be noisy. Join the boys from 10pm on Sky Sports one for the usual mix of banter and “ITK” Fantasy tips for the Sky Sports game.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bego - Jussi
    Baines - Clyne - Ridgewell - Wilkinson - Gorkss
    Mata - Oscar - Bale - Sterling - Fellaini
    Berb - RVP - Tevez

    2FT, 0.7 in the bank

Was thinking the super exciting transfer of Ridgewell -> Cuellar?
Advice/ opinions on that or any other transfer recommended?

Aaaa my favorite grav around here. Top team mate, too bad u can't save the saved transfer. Maybe some transfer like Clyne to Nelsen/ Davies. Better prospects at that price. Other than that top team. I think u don't wanna loose Oscar, so keep him. Next week sell Tevez. Or do the "Mark transfer" Tevez to Suarez

Thanks Daniel, I was actually hoping you'd be around for some advice! I'm sure you've been watching the matches, so what do you think of Oscar's point potential? I think he's definitely due some soon

Hey Mull, was thinking of just holding that cash out for tevez -> suarez. I just didn't want to pull the trigger on that with tevez home to villa

Do you proposed transfer and then do Tevez to Suarez next week if Suarez doesn't get booked.

Very nice. Only problems for me are Pienaar(Poor form and his teammate is on fire) and Cazorla(Not getting enough points for a premium mid) I'd do Cazorla to Mata with your FT.

Yeah, been away for a couple of weeks so neglected my team a bit, can't afford Fellaini easily (and he'll pick up that 5th yellow soon enough...)

I'll probably do Caz to Mata soon enough, but I can see goals in the North London derby.

At some point you should bring in Mata (prob for Cazorla), but after his trip to Panama I wouldn't risk it this week

Team looks fine for this week, save the trannie

Can I get some opinion on my WC team pretty please

    Bego Tremmel
    Baines Caulker Cuellar Wilko McCart
    Mata Bale Felliani Sterling Maloney
    RVP Suarez Berba
    Bank: 0.1m

Am thinking people will say the DF is a bit weak, but I don't have much cash to do much about it and keep my front 8 intact. Could swap Caulker for Hughes just to be safe but looking at the fixtures he won't be playing much anyway

Also is Sterling and Maloney too weak? They rotate perfectly and only one of them will play every week so I'm pretty comfortable with it.

Well I don't believe in expensive defences anyways so I think it's grand. One and only concern is both Sterling and Maloney. I wouldn't want both.

Yeh I know what your saying but both are great value for money and only one will play every week.

I also don't like the idea of having Sterling purely for the bench. He's an exciting player and I feel he will score well this season.

There are a lot of people with undroppable front 7's plus Sterling who are tearing their hair this week trying to find a way to fit him in

I've got Sterling and Maloney - the trouble is that it's a big jump in price to anyone that you'd actually want in your team! Even someone like Nolan has tricky fixtures coming up.

I was just watching the match between Stoke & QPR. Taarabat somehow reminds me of Drenthe of last season.
A lot of potential but not sure will that be materialized in near future.
