Chelsea will go into their final day fixture with Everton without the substantial talents of Eden Hazard – a blow for the Blues and for Fantasy managers counting on the Belgian’s return. John Terry is also sidelined for Chelsea while opponents Everton will be without Leon Osman who is suffering from a knee injury. That looks to be bad news for Marouane Fellaini owners, with the Belgian likely to continue in a deep lying midfield role for the Stamford Bridge trip.
Elsewhere, Sir Alex Ferguson gave Fantasy managers a farewell gift by confirming a section of his lineup for the trip to West Brom. The United boss confirmed that Anders Lindegaard will earn a recall between the sticks against the Baggies, with David De Gea missing out. There will also be changes in defence, with Phil Jones and Jonny Evans set to be paired at centre-back as the old guard, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, make way.
Arsene Wenger will be wrestling with several conundrums ahead of their must-win trip to Newcastle. With Olivier Giroud back from suspension, he could choose to shift Lukas Podolski out wide or even to the bench. With Mikel Arteta a major doubt, Wenger has limited options in the engine room with Jack Wilshere set to come in for a start prior to his summer ankle operation.
The Man City camp has been ominously quiet all day, with no press conference from the Etihad. With little clarity on the situation up front, reports suggest that Sergio Aguero is being “monitored” having suffered a purported hamstring problem in the win over Reading in the week. Elsewhere, Brian Kidd is expected to recall the big guns with the likes of Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta earning returns within the back four.
