The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 38

Whilst Daniel Sturridge delivered the expected goals last weekend, Dimitar Berbatov’s opening strike for Fulham robbed us of some “Flutter” winnings and left us in debt to our friends at Paddy Power. With the final Gameweek of the season now upon us, this is our last opportunity to claw back some cash and we’re turning to some talent in form to help us out.

Swansea’s Michu has been a star for Fantasy managers all season and, whilst he’s wavered in 2013 after a stunning start, he’s now emerged as an unlikely differential following Michael Laudrup’s hasty prognosis of a recent hamstring injury. After scoring at Old Trafford last time out, Michu is fit and firing ahead of a tempting home clash with Fulham, as Martin Jol’s side turn up at the Liberty in woeful form. Paddy have a Michu goal and a Swansea clean sheet at 4/1 ahead of Sunday’s encounter and that’s tempting enough for us to throw £3 in their direction.

Philippe Coutinho’s form has been nothing short of sparkling since his arrival on Merseyside. His almost telepathic relationship with strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have brought handsome assist returns but Coutinho has also been unlucky not to feature more often on the scoresheet. With a broken QPR side at Anfield today, a home win by a handsome margin looks to be almost guaranteed – something that is reflected in Paddy’s odds of just 3/1 on a Coutinho goal with a Liverpool clean sheet against Harry Redknapp’s side. We’ll hold back on this one, sparing just £2 of our stake.

Our final individual player market looks more profitable. Andy Carroll has been playing like a striker in the shop window, firing all six of his seven goals this season since February. Carroll rarely blanks at Upton Park and with Reading paying visit on Sunday, the Hammers and Carroll are tipped to end with a flourish. Paddy are dangling 9/2 on an Andy Carroll goal with a West Ham clean sheet against Reading and we’ll wager a confident £4 on this one.

That leaves a couple of quid for this week’s treble market, as Paddy offer up 16/5 on a Sturridge goal against QPR, a Gareth Bale strike at home to Sunderland and clean sheet for Man City at home to Norwich.

options are take 4 point hit to change keeper and situation will be

ME: Boruc, Kompany, Coutinho, Sturridge + 3 point lead
HIM: Begovic, Clyne, Rosicky, Kone + he has a sub to make

    OR

no hit on keeper and situation will be

ME: Kompany, Coutinho, Sturridge. + 7 point lead
HIM: Begovic, Clyne, Rosicky, Kone + he has a sub to make

Still thinking the same that yesterday:

I’m 9 points ahead of my ML. My team is:
    De Gea (Bunn)
Zabaleta – Baines – Clyne (Harte, Wilson)
    Bale – Walcott – Nasri – Maloney – Britton
    Tevez – Lukaku – (Benteke)

My rival almost same team, he has Lampard and RVP (not Nasri or Benteke)

    I have 1FT and 3,7M I was thinking 4pt hit

    +Sturridge –Benteke +Lampard –Nasri or +Michu -Nasri

    Worth it? Any better ideas?
500euros to win, any help appreciated!

    Who to play?

    A) Davies
    B) Evra

Davies may be benched and come on for the last 20 or something.. but my main rival has him so that it gives me a reason to copy.. (I am on a 2 point lead).
