The Weekend Team News

John Terry is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea. Arsene Wenger confirms Aaron Ramsey will start in the FA Cup. James Morrison has emerged as a fitness worry for West Brom. Tim Krul could return between the sticks for Newcastle. Aston Villa and Fulham receive injury boosts ahead of clashes with Crystal Palace and Norwich respectively, whilst Leon Osman is the only Everton doubt for the trip to Wearside, with Phil Jagielka missing out yet again:

Reports suggest that John Terry is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea after picking up a foot problem. Fantasy managers waiting for news of Eden Hazard’s calf injury could be left none the wiser heading into the weekend deadline after Jose Mourinho appears to have cancelled his usual Friday lunchtime press conference.

Artur Boruc and Gaston Ramirez remain doubtful with the back and ankle problems that kept them out of last week’s game against Man City. Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed both will be assessed prior to tomorrow’s home encounter with Cardiff.

Ahead of the FA Cup clash with Wigan, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey is ready to feature from the start as he builds up his match fitness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky are all doubts to face Wigan and, whilst Laurent Koscielny is definitely out of Saturday’s fixture, he could recover in time to face the Hammers in midweek. Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil could return from a hamstring injury in time for next week’s clash with Hull.

James Morrison is the Baggies’ only injury concern for the visit of Spurs with a muscle problem. Morrison will undergo a late fitness test, with Mel confirming that Chris Brunt will deputise in central midfield should Morrison not recover, in what is also expected to be an otherwise unchanged starting XI.

Newcastle could receive a boost ahead of the trip to the Britannia with Alan Pardew suggesting that Tim Krul “has a chance” of playing following injury. Loic Remy has resumed training but this weekend will come too soon for the Frenchman, confirms Pardew. Mathieu Debuchy is expected to return to training next week following a groin injury, according to reports.

Gabby Agbonlahor, Karim El Ahmadi and Fabian Delph have all been declared fit for the trip to Crystal Palace, having missed out last weekend through illness and injury respectively.

Fulham will welcome back Scott Parker to the squad for the crucial Canaries clash this weekend. Dan Burn and Giorgos Karagounis are also available for selection once more. Felix Magath, though, has ruled out both Kostas Mitroglou and Moussa Dembele, with the latter taking part in the Dallas Cup with Fulham’s youth squad.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Leon Osman remains the only new injury doubt for the trip to Sunderland with an eye injury, with the squad expected to be the same as it was against Arsenal. A behind-closed-doors friendly has been arranged for Phil Jagielka next week, to allow the central defender to build up his match fitness following a hamstring injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

“He has been training well with the team for a few days now but he was not 100% to play against Southampton, so that is why the manager decided to leave him out and let him be fully ready for the next game against Liverpool.” 🙂 KING IS BACK

    Norwich FPL Update

Hughton has left the building and what seemed like a crazy decision by neutrals and outsiders alike, the right step has been taken (although whether the mistake was not doing it sooner will soon be concluded). So, ex-NCFC and Stoke City winger, Neil Adams, has five games to save the season. What can we expect?

His best achievement to date is winning the FA Youth Cup last season, beating the expensively, world-assembled, youth squad of Chelsea FC. The teams success was built upon keeping it solid at the back whilst hitting teams swiftly on the counter, utilising the raw pace of the two twin-brothers, Josh and Jacob Murphy. We can expect to see this transformed (to a degree) to the first team, with a heavier emphasis placed on fast, swift, counter-attacks, something Liverpool have demonstrated superbly this season.

Rumours therefore, have picked up pace of Nathan Redmond starting up-front, either alongside RVW/Hooper or tucked in just behind, in a Suarez-type role. At the back, Michael Turner is thought to regain his place at the expense of Joseph Yobo with Bassong also not safe, Ryan Bennett acting as a possible replacement.

A well-documented, nightmare run-in for the Canaries leaves many with the easy decision of discarding any assets in Yellow, but expect to see much more attacking intent with license to roam in the final third for the likes of Redmond and Hoolahan.

    Buy: Redmond [punt]
    Sell: Olsson, Ruddy

Cardiff are quite an attacking team even thoguh they're poor. I'd play Gerrard.

Suarez/Studge/Sterling vs Demi equals penalties. Conclusion: Play Gerrard.

So after taking time I can't see fairer than:

      Evra > Baines (certain)
Hazard > Nasri/Lallana (still unsure - is the risk of not getting a City DF + Aguero worth it?)
      Sturridge > Aguero (for a hit...fitness dependent)

All look like good moves. Nasri has 7 games compared to Lallana's 5.

So i think i have to bring in Ward or Dann before this gameweek. As Terry is doubtful and i risk playing only 2 players i defense.

      But, who to start

A : Terry (either he plays or he dont, imo)
      B : Ward/Dann

Who will generate the most points? Ward/Dann has a double gameweek

I prefer SAS next week. It's Norwich after all.

Lukaku to Aguero for GW35 (if fit).
Sturridge to Adebayor GW36 - maybe.

Pondering the same. Having Sturridge for GW34 seems like a disadvantage, but I'm not at all sure it's worth taking a hit to get rid of him already.

Norwich changed the manager though and may turn out to defend better.

Unbiased opinion is 30 v Liverpool and 30 v Sunderland with a view to starting against West Brom.

I can't see him starting against Pool, but can see him finishing the game.

This is pretty much what i think too. Yes, he`s by far their best striker, but he`s been out a couple months now and Dzeko has done well the past couple games. Besides, i don`t see Pellegrini rolling up at Anfield with two strikers anyway. So i`m thinking a cameo against Liverpool and possibly like an hour or so against Sunderland. Not sure if worth.

Starting against Sunderland then starting against West Brom when they're very likely to win both without him is unlikely (opinion). I think the longer recovery, eased back in for the WBA start is realistic.
