THE CASE FOR ROONEY - TAKE 2

One of the hot topics earlier was some nice work on Rooney's performance against the bottom 5 teams. I think it read 7 games, 4 goals and 3 assists.

I had a closer look. Only one of those goals were scored at home. None of the assists were scored at home.

Let's look at the upcoming opponents:

SUN - on an amazing mini run with a 2-2 (City) and a 2-1(Chel). All to play for to try and survive.

HULL - I can't imagine Bruce making it easy for his alma mater United. Shirley he would have learned a lesson vs Arsenal? Arsenal midf(Ramsey) killed him. Yes Rooney scored 4 goals vs hull in 2009/10. But this is not the same United(or Hull) of those years.

NOR - They had a good game vs Livp. They have a really tough run with manu/chel/ARS to finish their season. I can only imagine they think they might something at Old trafford.

With all this Moyes talk at the moment, who knows that Rooney will dish up. Is he fit? Will Welbeck be given a run now that rumors are doing the rounds that he wants to leave the club?

Injury and lack of form concern me a lot, as well as the team playing poorly. Then then again, who else would you get. It's Rooney with 2 games. You could be massively punished for not having him.

If anything, Sunderland beating Chelsea and drawing with City is a warning for United to take them seriously, Sunderland are still useless and a good performance from United will see them crumble fairly easily (look at what happened at White Hart Lane for Sunderland).

Hull only have one game left this season and that's the FA Cup final, they're not going to fight to the death in the league at Old Trafford just because their manager used to play for the team..

Norwich suck away from home, can't score, can't defend.

Rooney and Mata in for me..

Of course he needs to be considered. What also needs to be considered are ManU's opponents, especially SUN and Nor playing for survival, Moyes being sacked and the morale in the united camp, Welbeck wanting to move(he might get game time), United's current form and Rooney's injury/health.

It's not as if we haven't been burned by him before.

Moyes on getting United back to where they belong:

"We've already done that and we're doing that behind the scenes just now."

Moyes post game "we'll try to do everything we possibly can to get a team which is capable of winning better than we've done recently"

Bad week.. A mixture of Ramsey on the bench, Suarez (C), Ward on the bench behind 2 Chelsea defenders, and my rival owning Sterling have all accumulated to give him a 50 point lead after I had been winning the league all season.. Ah well I'll still catch him 😎

    How are we all? 🙂

      tough luck irish 😀

apparently yaya may be back for palace said pelle...

depends if he stays on pens and if silva is playing or not...without silva city arent the same

I can't see Silva playing that much of an influential role any more for the rest of the season, if you keep playing on an ankle injury its only going to get worse..

Can Yaya perform without Silva but with Aguero?

yaya and aguero have started 6 games together without silva

yaya has 34 points from those games...

however he got 5 points courtesy of a pen after kun had been subbed

That makes for some nice reading... Yaya could be very nice to have ofer the dgw for those that can fit him back in or those that kept.

At least we have this week to wait and see 🙂

I dunno, with Gerrard's selling value at 9.7 for me, him blanking this week and 2 tough games coming for the big man, might look at Gerrard -> Yaya next week!

Then again, Mata is fairly useless.

Similar enough to you but with a bit of fortune from Baines, managed to avoid a catastrophe. Selling Coleman for Cahill was not my brightest move 🙁 Still only lost 5 points on my rival who had sterling and captained Aguero so I still have a healthy lead.

Kun(c) worked out a treat this week. If I gain another 10 pts then it's down to 29 with a DGW and GW 38 to follow.

Might even save a trade in DGW 37 and have 2 trannies to bring Suarez back.

        100% definitely without a doubt.

He looks to be the most "up for it" player in the whole league outside of Liverpool. Desperately trying to drive his team over the line into 4th. I'd say he's just trying to make up for his time off!

Tempted to leave the armband on Aguero. If Yaya is back, City will dominate Crystal Pulis.

Also an option, but that's putting a decent amount of faith in City to beat Pulis, which will be tough.

      Moyes.

      I mean, Rambo.

Oops, I mean, wait and see but out of those three.. Coutinho is my favourite but doesn't have a DGW, Mata depends if United can pick up any form at all with the whole Moyes out thing, and Nasri depends if he can play without Silva giving him the ball in good positions.

      Mata imo.

Tell it to me straight people, is 53 points too much to make up?

Not sure whether to chase my rival or to try and finish on as high a rank as possible..

He's the best option this week, there isn't a single other player in the league I would rather have for this week 🙂

Podolski could do well, but SAR is how I'm lining up.
