Why Didn't Sigurdsson Rise?
-
Potential changes to the price rules. FPL towers tinker with them every season but once in a while there's a significant change. My guess is they've reverted to a similar system last used for 2011/12, where a player needs 2xNTI target for the second rise in a week.
Open Controls-
-
-
I would have said it favours the more careful player, not worrying about a 0.3 rise in a single gameweek is a great change for me! π

http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/crack-the-code-2011-12-the-fiso-guide-to-fpl-price-changes-t86917.html
Here is a thread that discusses the old rules. If we're back to this then it means more changes on a Saturday night. Those who play the price game will have to take a few early risks, especially if they're bringing in players who have still to play on Sunday.Open Controls-
CHeers mate but I am still a little confused. Would you mind explaining how things are working now?
Open Controls-
If the first rise needed 50,000 NTI, would the second rise need 100,000NTI and the third 200,000?
Open Controls-
150k for the third (it very rarely gets to this) - but you've got the gist of it.
Open Controls -
yes, but its reset after each rise, so extra transfers in after the target is reached aren't counted until the price update is done.
Open Controls-
Does this mean that we are less likely to see a .3 rise on Cesc this week now? Bang goes my theory if so
Open Controls-
Yep. There will be no 0.5 swing with the Mata to Cesc transfer as was mooted on here yesterday.
Open Controls
-
-
so it is unlikely we will see a 0.3M rise in a week now?
Open Controls-
It'll still happen but be few and far between. Siggy could still do it this week, as chances are he'll go up tonight so will have Thursday and the Friday rush to get to 3xNTI target.
Open Controls-
Yeah I can see that. Well, that is annoying. Lamela and Mata out for Fab and Sterling to play the prices this week. Ouch.
Open Controls

Open Controls
-
Two major changes.
It kind of dilutes the early wildcard to increase team value idea. It doesn't blow it out of the water completely, it just means the old 0.3 risers will only rise 0.2.
But the big one for me is that it means the most popular day for price rises is Saturday night. This will annoy those who like to wait until Friday before making changes in case of injury.Open Controls-
As in more on Saturday because people will have to work harder to catch rises? So will make the move earlier?
I like the fact prices will be less volatile personally. π I promised myself I wouldn't twitch so much on transfers, so if the Mata/Cesc difference is watered down, that'd be good! π Thanks for the explanation.Open Controls-
I'll try to explain the Saturday thing with an example. Fabregas had 50k NTI last night, hit the 50k target, and went up in price. Now his target for the next rise is 100k. Come Friday night he has 70k NTI, so doesn't quite make the second rise. On Saturday night it's a new gameweek so his target is back to 50k again. As his NTI is well over this, he goes up. A lot of players who won't hit their increased target on Friday will be in the same boat - so more rises on a Saturday than at any other time.
Open Controls-
Open Controls

Brilliant example Pasqualinho.
I didn't get it without that.Open Controls-
Open Controls

Ty mate ..upvoted..
M glad u helpedOpen Controls -
doesn't this also mean that if we are patient enough to not trade on the saturday we are better of waiting until friday night to make our trades?
Open Controls-
In some cases. Still keep an eye on the price rise sites, though. They will tell you how patient you can be.
Open Controls
-

Siggy price got up by 0.1 again. He is now listed as 6.2.
Is there any possiblity he will rise 3rd time this week before the GW2?
And will Cesc rise again?Open Controls
-
-
-
It will also annoy those who like to wait till Monday before making changes.
Open Controls -
If you add a player's price rise during the previous game-week to his further price rise on the first day of the next one, the combined rise should be either the same as under the old system or 0.1 less.
Following this change, there should be less need to bring a transfer forward to the previous game-week, since all the players who would have risen by 0.2 during that previous game-week will now only rise by 0.1, and nearly all of those who would have risen by 0.3 will now only rise by 0.2.
But there will be a big temptation to make that transfer on the first day of the new game-week, because of the additional price rises that will now occur on that day.Open Controls

Im not understanding what peoe are saying is dofferent this year from last year.....please could someone explain as everything thats been said is the same as last year as far as i can tell. Until its explained im simply putting it down to a different NTI value for increase than last year and the calculation used by both the main price changes websites having conditional formula that errors for the 1st double riser in a week as it uses previous double risers of that season as its benchmark for measuring future rises (pretty sure the same happened at start of last season)....happy to be proven otherwise tho.
Open Controls -
He is now listed as 6.2. π

Hows my side for the weekend
Begovic
Phil Jones, Wisdom, Debuchy (Lovren bench)
Ramsey, Fabregas, Siggy, Silva (Henderson)
Rooney, Diego Costa (c), Bojan
1.0 in bank also ! Freeeeeeeesh!!!!!!Open Controls-
Like it. Although I'd fear another six points in total at the back.
Open Controls-
Yeah I fear that also . Just going to ride this week out Defensively.
Open Controls -
Hi Guys. I am starting late. Can you please help me make a good team.
I was thinking of
Begovic / Krul
Kompany Cahill Wisdom Chester Hutton
Fabregas Mata Siggurdson Prowse Arnie
Rooney Costa AdebayorOpen Controls-
Begovic/Green.
Ivanovic, Clyne, van AanholtOpen Controls

Its fine, long term i would look at Lovren to Clyne/Kelly and taking the cash. I started with Lovren and am wondering why now!

Is it just me or the attacking players that sign from Serie A rarely become quality buys fpl wise. Of the top of my head Osvaldo, Gaston, Giaccherini, Balotelli etc. They had huge potential but never lived up to it in the Epl.
Could it be the same for Lamela and Jovetic?
Can someone name a few attacking players signed from Serie A who have done well in recent seasons?Open Controls-
It's a really poor league now. Well behind the big three and arguably weaker than France.
Open Controls-
I think Gaston is great. Very underrated.
Open Controls-
Yes he was great in Seria A and a fantastic technical player but he has done nothing in Epl so far and has been overlooked consistently.
There must be somethung wrong. Maybe Serie A players are unable to adapt to the pace of EplOpen Controls
-
-
Weaker than France?! Have you watched the level of tactical intelligence of Italian teams? Granted, the players are not at the level of 15 years ago, but it's still a great league.
Open Controls
-
-
TBF Giaccherini never got much of game time because of injury or other reason..whenever he came he was good!
Open Controls-
But would you get him into your Fpl team? I'm saying Fpl wise. Even Balotelli, Gaston and Osvaldo are good players and they did produce every now and then but never fulfilled their potential.
Open Controls
-
-
-
So my decision to get baines isn't looking as good now. Although on the flip side and saving a transfer, it's great to have the option to downgrade a defender for a lot of cash to catch a rising attacker
Open Controls -
Considering Arsenal's squad I'm surprised that Wenger is struggling. He needs to be more versatile tactically. The fact Sanchez and Ozil look average should concern him. He should try to use a formation to accommodate his best players.
Open Controls-
He still lacks a genuine tough-tackling DM of sufficient quality.
Open Controls-
and a better striker
ozil and sanchez are undermined by such defiencies...Open Controls-
Why not play Sanchez striker and drop Giroud? He obviously fancies Giroud at ST since he hasn't bought another this window but splashed out on Sanchez.
Open Controls-
maybe we will see sanchez up front when walcott returns...until then I doubt it
trouble is campbell podolski sanchez and walcott are all "forwards" but not out and out strikers...we need another out and out striker, but wenger considers these forwards to be enough...my only hope is that walcott/sanchez turn out to be good strikers...Open Controls
-
-
-
He has no balance. Caz and ozil were essentially playing same role last season and he needs to play flamini sitting with Ramsey breaking from deep. A front four of Alexis, ozil, theo and cazorla could then rotate in love barca false 9 system. Wenger isn't brave enough to do this. He wants to play like Barcelona but is obsessed with a big number 9 up top.
Open Controls
-
-
ozil will come out guns blazing and sanchez has had 2 men on him in both games...when ozil and then walcott come back he will have more space...even then he still puts in a shift
Open Controls-
Walcott and Ramsey are Arsenal's best players IMO. Ozil and Sanchez are more talented though.
Open Controls-
yeah atm but ozil will shine this season, and sanchez will do the same given time
this is the season of alex oxlade-chamberlain if wenger gives him a good go...Open Controls

Loic Remi doesn't appear to be listed on TFPL ??
Open Controls -
Which one has more chance of a CS this week:
Forster against Westbrom home
De Gea against Sunderland awayOpen Controls-
Forster, that is an expensive set of keepers!
Open Controls

Is it possible to ask FPL about their price rising formula/policy or do you reckon they would ignore it?
Open Controls-
Btw...
1. Evs responded to you on your hot topic
2. I asked you a question...
PS: Don't waste your time iro the FPL pricingOpen Controls -
They would likely reply with some general nonsense like "player values fluctuate depending on their popularity in the fantasy premier league transfer market"
Open Controls -
Morning. Am guessing they would ignore it or send out a stock reply. Bit like they do when we ask when's FPL opening π
Open Controls -
It's a secret formula (algorithm) and each year they will change or tweak it to throw 'naughty' people trying to 'crack it' ahead of the changes.
Usually takes a few weeks for some sties to get their predictions right.
Happened last year from memory...Open Controls-
-
Yes, but sites such as fiso etcettera can still be used as a rough guide early on
Open Controls

-

Who to play?
A) Mannone (MUN)
B) Green (tot)Open Controls -
No players changed last night that were due on total FPL?
Open Controls -
-
Morning folks....
So i'll try today again, due to personal ptoblems(herniated neck) i have seen no games and would like help with performances by some players.
Soldado, he did get no minutes at all even though Tottenham ftom what i heard were not exactly on f6re forward. Why? Yes he was not the shining star last seadon but still managed over 100p i think, has Pochetino said anything specific?
Remy, 16 touches as i read above seems that hw was trying, but was it to get to another team or?Open Controls-
To be honest Eriksen was pretty lively and Im sure Lamela could have done better but when you have a sloth playing center forward, this is what you can expect.
Also, West Ham at home are pretty tight.Open Controls-
The sloth being Ade? I asked about Soldado's lack of gametime and why.
Open Controls
-
-
Remy will only leave for an ECL team and he wants to stay in England. Arsenal wouldn't meet his wage demands, Liverpool pulled out, so that only leaves Chelsea and Man City.
'Arry says he is happy to stay if that doesn't happen. Remy showed no signs of pouting on Saturday and every sign of being a success with QPR if he doesn't move onOpen Controls-
Thank you kindly for taking the time and clearing this up for md, i'll keep Remy then.
Open Controls

Open Controls -
Suspended for UCL only
Open Controls

So whos prices are going up ?
Open Controls-
Charlie Austin. And by that I mean the price on his head.
Open Controls
-
-
For all those who are transferring out Mata just because of price drops... well since when did 0.1 mil become more important than 1 FT? (2 FT if you plan on getting Mata back)
Open Controls-
Team keep mata. People are acting like he's injured or being dropped. He'll play 90 minutes in the next game and surely be better.
surely...Open Controls
-
-
Another day to consider whether to get on board with Siggy. My only possible transfers are Erikson and Mata neither if which I want to lose this gameweek
Open Controls -
If people just read a little first, rather than charging on with the same questions it would make life much easier.
Open Controls-
This. I saw the same question asked three times in one page yesterday. Come on people, the whole thing works better if you go back a bit and answer just few questions yourself first
Open Controls -
The people who get annoyed by repetition tend to be the ones who are on here for hours at a time. Not everyone has time to scroll through pages of chat in the hope that their question's been answered. Unless someone's asking something which will very obviously be widely discussed, if a question ends up appearing a couple of times on the same page that's just unlucky.
Also people like to get involved. If everything was only to be discussed once they'd use a more standard forum format.Open Controls
-
-
If mata gets an assist, will the exodus stop? What about a goal?
Also, will the NTI reset? I.e. NTI this whole gameweek is 40+K. Will it go back to zero so it takes say 60+K for price to fall?Open Controls-
nti resets after the price change each day
Open Controls
-
WHAT!! was expecting Siggy to rise and Naughton to fall π
Open Controls -
Hello Lads , sorry if this has been discussed but im an Aussie a bit out of the loop.
whats the take on Chester and Dier , Legit nailed on buys , or just bandwagon after 1 good game?Open Controls-
Chester nailed on. Even if won't score again probably. Less so dier with vert coming back
Open Controls -
chester could work but I'm put off by the Europa league.. on Dier the general feeling is when vert is back he won't start.. I'm not sure though
Open Controls-
cheers.

Can't believe the amount of people getting rid of Mata. Even with Moyes, Mata and Rooney did well. With these fixtures, Utd should be doing well. And they are playing an away game next!
Open Controls-
I think we've covered this point now. One guy in my league has used four points to, wait for it, swap mata for fab and Rooney for Costa. Just insanity. He couldn't understand my point that it wasn't as simple as those two outscoring the utd pair in a single game week. You've got to stand by your initial selection a little. And such a waste of transfers!!
Open Controls -
Loads of nice alternative midfield options and given Utd look like they may struggle again, whereas Chelsea are probably champions elect, the latter seems the better team to double up on with attacking players. Add to that the team value implications and it looks like a very sensible transfer to me.
Open Controls-
He already has haz as well
*facepalm*Open Controls

My Ashley Young might survive another week before he drops.
Open Controls-
Indeed. I hope so. Although I will want to buy him back!

Just seen the Ramsey sending off for his two yellows....shocking....
Open Controls-
shocking in what way? some have said it was poor from him, others have said it was poor from the ref...

To me they are both yellows. The second foul was purely out of frustration.
Open Controls -
Yeah, but think of the pluses for us FPL Managers. No chance of his being injured in the return leg or tired after it π
