A number of midfielders are amongst this evening’s members piece, as we take a look the in-form options at Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham. We also cast an eye over Diego Costa’s recent form, assess Sergio Aguero’s displays compared to recent campaigns and take time to assess QPR’s in-form frontman after another impressive showing in yesterday’s narrow defeat at the Bridge.
Yes
Yes do it now.
100%
Yep
i've done exactly the same 2mins ago
@Evs
I'd definitely lose Tadic
He's only scored more than 5 twice this season once was a 6 the other was his 23 pointer that clouded everyone''s judgement, as, bar Long, literally everyone who played for Saints that game got at least 5Hmmm ...
you think I am wrong?
to me it's a simple matter of this Evs' dilemma is
Tadic and Welbeck
or
Sanchez and Sakho
Think the latter wins every time
I think I will mate, and the fixtures are turning.
I still have Pelle v Lei.
Thoughts on Sakho as part of the trade instead of Welbekc ?
-4ptsso it's Tadic and Welbeck to Sanchez and Sakho ❓
I like thatFor -4pts. Yep.
surely not before leicester at home though. leicester look terrible, and statistically tadic is still delivering. plus all it takes is a pen
I would definitely give him the game at home to Leicester first
Cashing in on Tadic after Leicester at home.
comes down to this mate
Tadic and Welbeck
v
Sanchez and Sakho
The latter is better and he still has PelleThe fact that he has Pelle makes me give it the go ahead.
I agree, just talking about what I'm gonna do.
I'm happy to keep Tadic for another couple weeks. Southampton are bound to get a penalty eventually and the stats are decent. That said, I still haven't watched a Southampton game start to finish since they played Liverpool week 1 😆
Both rivals got Chambers this week...is it worth getting him or is another 4.5 ish defender a better option
na he is the best
Everyone getting Downing now it seems. Is he better to own than Sakho?
no i would prefer sakho
not better than, but he is good value
Never one to follow the herd..but..i seem to have become all template all of a sudden
Krelliott
Chambers Baines Toby (Wisdom Duff)
Hazard ADM Downing Sanchez Chadli
Berahino Aguero Pelle... the herd is following you! 😉
I have almost the same team as you Wakey, but have Coleman at the back and 5th mid fodder.
I do very early transfers for £'s..It's starting to show in some teams now.
Can't work out why folk are selling Fab for Hazard though...madness...
Haz looks like he has points in him, penalties as well. I have Fab and doubt I'll make the switch until Fab picks up his 5th yc
I've had Hazard for over two years so he's part of my FPL furniture. But I wouldn't be in a rush to ditch Cesc for him.
Yeah, I had Haz all last year and caught the captain hattrick against NewC too.
When Fab gets his 5th, Haz ownership could explode. Till then, Fab can do no wrong.Fab to Haz could also be for fear that Haz may be out of reach if ownership picks up and a few price rises occur, especially with people stretched for funds with Sanchez now gaining a following.
Yall actually think that taking a 4point hit: Hazard, Sterling >> Alexis, Downing is reasonable?
10,6m is quite the price tag for AlexissAvoid getting rid of Haz, see if you can get Sanchez in another way. But as a last resort, I'd do it. But I would want to get Haz back in soon, his stats are looking more and more promising.
Think I'll just get in Downing for Sterling now...
Then I'll have some in the bank to tinker with after a week
My £40 acca for a £270 return is down to the last bet.
SF 49ers to beat SL Rams, currently 10-10 at HT.
There is no cash out option but should I place a bet on the Rams @53/20 to cover my bet?I would
How much would you put on?
£20 or 30. enough to get all your money back at least if the worst comes to worst
- Are Southampton Fixture Proof?
I'm curious, why does everyone seem to think that Soton will suddenly start to struggle playing at home to the likes of Everton and Man U?
Just because their fixtures are tougher doesn't mean their form will start to suffer.
(I didn't mean for that last bit to rhyme)That's why I'm keeping Pelle. With his scoring history, I think he'll do well regardless of fixture.
Pelle will be ok, it's Sot defenders who'll potentially be the issue.
defender will go. Pelle I will give a chance in a couple of games to see how he goes against tougher opposition
Fixtures over form for me unless you're talking about a Suarez/Bale type destroyer. With tougher fixtures, I expect southampton to score less and concede more so I'll no longer want to be tripling up on them. Their assets have reasonable enough price tags that they're not must sells though.
They've conceded five goals all season. That's half as many as the next best.
My point is that if Chelsea had tougher fixtures everyone wouldn't suddenly dump their defenders even if there was a good chance they might concede.Chelsea are (or were) a different animal though. In years past, they've been able to shut out even the best teams. Southampton don't have that track record. In general, I would be looking to sell a defender if he had a patch of really tough fixtures coming up and he had a premium price.
Ultimately I just don't see any value in players around that price range that I would think had more chance of getting clean sheets.
Lol at the last part. And agree I'm holding on to 2 of my Soton players.
just because mostly every one hear has 3 soton players in their teams and they won't bring up the same no.of points as they did in the first 10gws?
Everton couldn't score at home to Swansea, Man U got a late goal against the next best defence in Chelsea and have struggled to break down the likes of West Ham and Everton at home.
I think the assumption that Soton will definitely concede to these teams (playing at home) is based more on ingrained reputation than the current situation.
(That last bit rhymed a bit as well, I must have been a rap star in a previous life). So what you sayin' man
for a successful playin' plan
Just because its tougher
don't mean we have to suffer
Just forget the reputation
and concentrate on the current situation?
I'm a Saints supporter, and they have certainly looked very good this year. The only worry is that defending against the likes of DiMaria, Falcao, Rooney and RVP is quite a different proposition than defending against (say) Sunderland. Having said that, I'm still hopeful. They have been very organised, and Koeman has done an amazing job. I think they are creative enough to score against anyone........
Because most have 2-3 Soton players at the moment, and usually 1-2 out of Clyne/Bertrand/Forster. They'll surely start conceding goals in that period.
Even last year, they started exceptionally well and then fell back to "upper midtable" position as their fixtures got harder. They'll probably do a bit better this year, but it's a hard enough run to avoid having more than 1 Soton player.
I'd keep Pelle (maybe), but get rid of the rest.People have double or even tripled up on them. Putting a lot of eggs in one basket there
not at all. they've lost their only 2 tough fixtures this season!
will expand that and say i think there may be merit holding onto their attacking assets but by the time the tough run comes you will be able to cash in on the likes of clyne and bertrand for over 5mil which i think is more than they will be worth at that point
Southampton don't play United at home until GW 15 and Everton until GW17. Before that they face City at home and Arsenal away, and starting in GW19 it's Chelsea and Arsenal at home and United away. So far, the schedule has given Southampton a pretty easy ride, they've lost to the two best sides they've faced (Liverpool and Spurs) and drawn against West Brom, and in GW 13 we'll begin to see what they're really made of. I think I'll watch that from the sidelines and put some Hammers on the pitch instead.
What do you all think about the early transfers vs injury risk?
Do you think if you did every transfer as soon as the last significant game of the GW had been played, you'd come out on top? (vs the number of times a big player is injured during the week in training or a European game)I only do it if I might get priced out
If you like doing hits then do the hits early. It's risky to start with but the increased TV means you end up with a full squad quicker than the rest of the game to ride out any injury risks later on. And never leave an injured minor player in your squad...you'll need them.
I think early transfers can be beneficial early in the season when players are rising and building TV is important. I would be less likely to pull the trigger on an early transfer in, say, GW30.
I usually transfer in early and take the risk if it means jumping on early price rises. The exception would be doubtful players (eg Sakho)
Will owning Chambers, Sanchez and Welbeck be overkill? Arsenal have decent fixtures ahead.
I have Chambers and Sanchez but no interest in Welbeck. I'd shift him to Sakho
I don't think it's overkill, but would probably swap out Welbeck anyway.
I've had the triple up for the last two weeks. May sell Welbz at some point but the only downside I see is that you're blocked off from getting Walcott/Ramsey without selling Sanchez or making at least two transfers.
I have all three. Chambers is a steal. Welbeck should be a steal and Sanchez is Sanchez. Not overkill but I may be looking to get rid of Welbeck soon
Wellbeck > Sahko is far too much foa non-brainer to not do IMHO.
Chambo: would anyone drop Bertrand for Chambers on a FT, so as to avoid chambo from rising agan tonite and prob again this gw?
*would still keeep clyne.Yup, but I'd drop Clyne instead.
Would probably get rid of both before the GW13 start of horror fixtures anyway.yes if you have clyne too. not a bad time to lose a southampton defender
btn the 2, best to have clyne as he has more Bonus pontetila right? hes had 7. altho bertrand is more offense oriented imo.
I'd say that it is worth it. Southampton's fixtures turn in a few weeks, so you'll have to get rid of one of them before too long.
I need some help. I know I need action on this side but I'm just not sure. I have 2 FTS and don't mind taking a hit..
Begovic
Bertrand Rose Baines ( Duff Hutton )
Fabregas Siggy Chadli Sterling ( Marney )
Aguero Costa Pelle
Any ideas? Only 0.1m itb...Got a similar squad, Sterling to Sanchez and I'm downgrading Costa to Sakho, will get Costa back in for Pelle after the break
Sterling, Costa --> Sakho, Sanchez? That should leave you with enough to do Pelle back to Costa after Costa settles back in.
Lol, exactly the same as the comment above.
Great suggestion. I might just have to go with that!
Is Sakho fit?
Thoughts on this team for next week:
Forster
Clyne, Chambers, Wisdom
ADM, Fab, Sanchez, Downing
Costa, Kun, Pelle
Subs: Elliot, Dummet, Hutton, Albrighton
0ft and 0.1m ITB
Any improvements needed?Excellent side. Not much more you can do with that!
Cheers matey.
Anyone who gets Downing will flush him the
second he gets a two pointerTotally. A footballer is for the season not just for a goal feat. 🙂
Victor Moses. Points in 5 of the last 6. Yikes 8)
Its a trap!
Assuming expensive fwds and cheap defs, 343, one cheap mid playing every week....
Which three mids are your most wanted?
I think sanchez, hazard, adm for me, thats the dream anyway....too expensive though.Yup, way too much, define cheap
Currently I'm rolling with
Sanchez, ADM, Siggy,. Chadli
Costa, Kun, Berahinoabove ^
those 3 for sure. if you were to only own one though, who would it be?
I have Sanchez, Fab and ADM. Fab for consistency. The others for explosiveness.
I am only going with Costa or Aguero not both. So i can keep ADM, haz, Sanchez and Baines
is barkley nailed on in the center for everton?Would you consider him?
damn i've been reply failing so much recently 🙁
for those who have NOT WC, plannng to WC:
1.now for gw 11
2.gw 12 for the intl break
3.after gw 13 no time set.could be next yr.3
shirokov: when and if so, how r u planing to to bring sanchez?
4. Duno reali
I took my third -4 of the season yesterday, WC still intact. Won't use it unless it's a must
3 DGWfest or mass injury/suspension crisis
Between Di Maria and Sanchez...Sanchez looks like the next Suarez, but Di Maria's fixtures are better. What do you guys have to say?
I have both but if could only have one would be Sanchez atm.
Went ADM over Sanchez. He will outscore him over the next 4 games
^ Dis guy 😆
That's what I'd say as well, but getting Sanchez will become really hard after this week and he seems to be at the end of everything Arsenal do.
Because guys like him are always considered long term and it looks like he's going to outscore Di Maria.
Sterling (out) - Downing (in) done!
Some help please! Should I play Wisdom or Colo next week? Or both? Or is it insane as they're facing eachother? Could see that game ending 0-0 though...
who are your other defenders?
Clyne & Ivan
wisdom for me
Go with the homeboy
Makes sense. NUFC form seems to be getting better with each game though.
Really hoping someone will invent a cure for hiccups , but I won't hold my breath
If you were to guess, what value will Sanchez be on saturday morning?
10.8
10.8
doosra thanks for reply regarding Tomkins. I will hold him then, if he holds down the position now he should bring home the bacon til january wildcard time. looks to be a great pick
I'd like to trade Sterling this week. Options are:
A) Di Maria
B) Sanchez
C) Hazard
I already have Welbeck and Fabs.
Probably leaning towards DiMaria with their schedule. Any thoughts much appreciated!I'd want both Sanchez and ADM. Probably Sanchez now, then you catch his rises and can make a move for ADM after the Arsenal game.
Sanchez is a must have right now
Welbeck is not coverage for Sanchez. Would get Sanchez and look to get rid of Welbeck
Thanks everyone. Sanchez it is!
Have 5.3m to spend on a mid in order to do get Sanchez for Sterling. Was looking at Milner, is he assured gametime?
i would avoid, nasri is now fit again
awkward price point, much better options at 5.4 or 5.5. I'd save the money and go for Wanyama
Cheers.
who is more of a Priority to Have as of gw11? pls rank.
1.DCosta
2.Pelle
3.Sanchez
*imo 2-1-3
ARS (swa-MNU-wba-SOU-stk-NEW)
SOU (LEI-avl-MCI-ars-MNU-bur)
CHE (liv-WBA-sun-TOT-new-HUL)Sterling and Siggs out for Sanchez and Boyd? I have exact money only.
who are your'e other mids?I got rid of siggs last week and i regret it horribly
Downing, Davis and Fabs. Not strong but money is spent elsewhere.
a case of damage limitation this week
bring in sanchez and then downgrade to walcott when readyexactly my thoughts
just pushed the button on Sterling+Eriksen=> Sanchez+Downing
i think i might get dropped in last man standing tomorrow 🙁
is barkley nailed on in the center for everton?Would you consider him?
Not nailed on, so no.
9 years, 6 months ago
Sanchez Downing IN, Sterling Eriksen OUT
Do it now? Can only afford .1 in rises/falls.
