Our Friday lunchtime look at the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again as the packed festive schedule continues. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

Fantasy managers should be aware that PlayON have now extended the deadline for submitting your teams. Previously, the cut-off point was two hours before the first kick-off in a Gameweek but now you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first match in each Gameweek gets underway.

PlayON has Freeroll games and Guaranteed Pot games running each week for the rest of the season at www.PlayON.co. This week they have £350 in Freerolls and over £2,000 in Guaranteed Pots on offer – to get your free entry into the Freerolls just follow them on Twitter at https://twitter.com/PlayON and like them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PlayON

Goalkeeper – Hugo Lloris
After a midweek defeat at Chelsea, Spurs will be hoping for an easier test at home to Crystal Palace this weekend. The Frenchman has kept a paltry three clean sheets this season but having only conceded a single goal in his last three home appearances, will be hoping for a shut-out against an Eagles side that failed to score at home to Aston Villa in midweek. At 7.8m, Lloris is by no means a budget option but with 12 saves (worth 200 points apiece in PlayON) could still prove worthwhile should he fail to keep out Neil Warnock’s side. Chelsea, on the other hand, registered a fourth successive clean sheet in all competitions in midweek – an ominous sign for their title challengers. Thibaut Courtois may be the joint-top most expensive keeper at a price of 8.2m but the Belgian remains the cheapest route into the Blues backline away to a Newcastle side that has scored twice in the last three Gameweeks.

Defender – Alan Hutton
After keeping three clean sheets in the first four Gameweeks, Aston Villa fell victim to a terrible run of fixtures which forced their defenders off our radars. Paul Lambert looks to have finally steadied the ship again, though, and with just two goals conceded in their last four outings, Villa will be confident of keeping out a Leicester City side that has failed to score in four of their last five on the road. Available for just 6.0m this weekend, Hutton is an inexpensive enabler whose forward raids could yet reap reward in the final third. A home clash with Swansea brings West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell (7.4m) into contention. Big Sam’s side have conceded just once in the last four at Upton Park, whilst the Swans have scored only two goals in their previous four road trips. With a goal and assist in two of his last three at Upton Park, the summer signing looks in great form at both ends of the pitch right now.

Midfielder – Jordan Henderson
Back-to-back wins over Stoke and Leicester points towards an upturn in fortunes for Liverpool as Sunderland pay visit to Anfield. Henderson has only missed one match this season and is starting to pull his weight with two goals and three assists, including a strike away to Leicester on Tuesday night. At 8.3m, he’s a far cheaper option than Raheem Sterling (12.2m) and his defensive work – including interceptions and tackles – is almost smiled upon kindly by the PlayON Scoring Matrix. The essential midfielder this week is Christian Eriksen (10.9m). Despite a seemingly underwhelming season, the Tottenham playmaker has still managed five goals and with two strikes and an assist in his previous three, looks in promising form for the visit of Crystal Palace.

Forward – Nikica Jelavic
Four goals in the opening seven Gameweeks brought Jelavic onto Fantasy managers’ radars, before his season was curtailed by injury. The Hull frontman has failed to score since returning late last month but, after serving up a midweek assist against former club Everton, he’s starting to pick up the points just in time for a plum home clash with West Brom. At a price of just 8.2m, the Croatian looks tempting against a defence with a single clean sheet in eight attempts. The Premier League’s in-form player, Sergio Aguero is impossible to ignore. The City striker now has 14 goals in as many matches and entertains an Everton side that have conceded in each of their last five away trips – at 15.0m, he is anything but budget-friendly but given his red-hot displays, Aguero looks like a necessary inclusion to our squads.

Head over to www.PlayON.co and get your teams in for the £350 in Freerolls and £2,000 in guaranteed pots.

      Killian,

Having played most of last year and this, I must say that the new web site and game play is great. The multi-team feature is a really good enhancement, although do players use others players teams? Bringing back the scoring system that was similar to last year brings much more depth to the game as well, without making it complicated. I am really happy that you have done that.

However, I would like to raise two issues:

      1. Live Matchday is painfully slow. If your team is doing well, this could potentially be a lot of fun to watch the live updates, but this enjoyment is taken away by the slowness.

      2. One a minor note, I would prefer the player stats to be a bit easier to find, and use.

On the whole though, I am loving playing the game again this year - good job done by you guys.

        Hi Philman,

        Thanks for that feedback.

The Using Other People's Teams function is something we have pulled for now and will be launching again later in the season as there is enough in the site for now.

Regarding the Live Matchday, we have been doing a lot of work on this over the past few months as we fully agree that watching your team score points live significantly adds to the entertainment of the site. We implemented a new site and codebase at the start of this year so there have been some teetting issues but these are now largely resolved so the matchday this weekend should be much better than it has been - I would appreciate your thoughts on this on Monday if you have the chance to add them here or drop me a mail to killian@playon.co.uk

We have individual player stats within the info button on the player picker and are also working on a much more powerful stats tool, where you can compare 4x players across a number of different criteria - this will be live over the coming months and should significantly help the team picking experience. We also have Picked % for players going live in the next few days.

Thanks again for taking the time to write the feedback and if you have any other suggestions for improvement please do let us know as we genuinely take customers feedback this into account when planning what features to amend / new features to add

Moore -> Hutton and play Hutton over Bartley?

Whilst Moore likely to play this week due to Morgan being suspended, he's a rotation risk over the xmas period that I could do without...

My mind hovers right now around Hutton. Because out of those two he has the easier fixtures.

Considering Aguero's form I don't think Everton are going to keep a clean sheet. But City have not kept a clean sheet against Everton in the recent games as well. That confuses me right now and hence asked the question.

Stoke are a dangerous customer when it comes to playing against Arsenal. But if Arsenal can field Laurent Koscielny, then I sniff another clean sheet for the gunners. So I don't think this is the right time to ditch Chambers.

Plus there is a small chance that Chambers could play as a DM once Debuchy returns.

Benteke hasn't shown form since before the first time he got injured. Not saying he won't do well in the long run, but to jump ship this early is a massive risk. Villa aren't exactly the most creative team.

Yeah, that's the only off putting thing. Villa create feck all. Then again Morgan is suspended for Leic.

Leic stats are just plain shocking and I can only imagine Benteke should be involved in everything they do create.

          High risk high reward.

I'm not buying the fixtures great part either. After this week they're ok but not great. Isn't until GW19 they really pick up.

I didn't say their fixtures are GREAT. Leic is GREAT. Wba/Villa have had goals in them lately.

In any case nothing stops me from getting someone like Sakho/Welbz/Giroud/Lukaku after this week.

I don't mind burning transfers and playing fixtures.

Sorry the fixtures part was aimed at Nil Miss not you. Trust me if benteke scores a hat trick this weekend I'll be getting him in either way, ha.

The only slight difference to last few years is baps don't really suit the villa 1-0 for forwards.
Can see him losing baps to CS defenders even when scoring

      Why should it?

      Austin(10)
      Bony(13)

      Scores at home to Leic.

I just feel it's a similar circumstance to bony at home to QPR but we'll see. I agree Leicester defence is toilet.

Well I bought Bony and without seeing any footage I beleive he could/should have had 15-20pts.

          Maybe Benteke scores that 15pts.

I need to live a little, and Bony's away stats aren't great. I think Big Sam will out think Swansea.

Well good luck to you. I brought bony in for that game so maybe I'm feeling burned. Going to hang onto him for a little while in theory, but if costa bags a brace this weekend I'll be no doubt scrambling to get him back in.
