Mondogoal Gameweek 25 – Compete for £30,000

The weekend saw six more qualifiers throw their hat into the ring for the biggest prize in weekly Fantasy Football, as the race for Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship picked up pace.

How Does it Work?

In the final Gameweek of the season, Mondogoal will crown their first World Champion and they will go away with a huge £10,000 top prize.

So far, 11 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 159 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for as little at £2 – less than the price of a pint, particularly where I live.

Gameweek 24 saw six more qualifiers progress, with the average score totaling just 82.64 in a low scoring Gameweek. Interestingly, five of those six teams lined up with a 3-4-3 formation and, not surprisingly, it was Harry Kane’s haul of 20.31 points that helped decide the contests.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests for the midweek Gameweek. You still have until 7.35pm to select you lineup for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

Bear in mind, the more you stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the high-rolling £50 contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal lineup with the click of a button. Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Lineup in Other Contests”.

FFS Gameweek 25 Picks

We’re going all out to get our Fantasy Football Scout squad in the Championship final come May 24 and we’d love to see some of the community in the hat alongside us.

From Gameweek 26, Granville and I will also be entering individual teams in the Championship and in a new Fantasy Football Scout challenge league. Look out for details of that next week.

For now, here’s the current lineup to carry our hopes into tonight’s £2 and £10 Qualifying contests….

gw25

As you can see, we’re banking on a Sunderland clean sheet against with sorry QPR turning up at the Stadium of Light without Charlie Austin. We’re pretty confident for this one – cocky enough to even consider loading up with three Black Cats defenders. We may still explore that option, particularly in the unlikely event that Laurent Koscielny is rested in order to give Gabriel Paulista his Arsenal debut against Leicester.

In midfield, with reports growing that Raheem Sterling could be out of this evening’s clash against Spurs, we’re currently backing Philippe Coutinho despite some minor concerns on his fitness – like the Koscielny situation, we’ll have the teamsheets available to verify that pick before the Mondogoal deadline. Marouane Fellaini is a gamble but, at just 6.9 million, one worth taking given his role in recent United performances – we’re backing him to get a start against Burnley at Old Trafford.

Up front, we’ve confidence in both Olivier Giroud and Jermain Defoe, while budgetary restrictions mean that we’ve had to seek out a cheap option to complete the strike force. Villa may have scored just a single goal in their last seven league outings but they are up against a Hull side who are also plunged into a run of miserable form – that’s enough to recognise that Gabby Agbonlahor could offer value at just 4.4 million. Differentials don’t come more gutsy that that.

Of course, our lineup is subject to change. We’ll be exploiting tonight’s teamsheets to tinker further.

Get you lineup together and in the hat to take us on. You’ll find the FFS squad in both the £2 and £10 contests tonight, whilst we’ve also got an entry in the £5 contest offering a £1000 prize pot. Head on over to Mondogoal to get involved now.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

think I have all bases covered here:

If Sanchez starts with Cazorla, do Fabregas > Sanchez
If Sanchez starts but Cazorla doesn't, do Cazorla > Sanchez
If neither start, do Cazorla > Ozil

These things can go either way.

Arsenal smash Villa at home and look amazing - confidence high playing well

Arsenal play Spurs and are pretty awful and lose - confidence low

Leicester - manger is "sacked" then is reinstated - who knows the impact this has had: could be highly detrimental but could of galvanised the squad and they will now fight for him (not literately he can handle himself).

Basically i think this is going to go one of two ways, most (and me included) think this will be a demolition by Arsenal but I actually do think with Arsenal's most recent performance and the small chance the Leicester players may have a reaction to recent events there is a possibility of a shock result or backs to the wall performance.

I think it will be a hammering. The players might not like Pearson and don't have to play for places. He will get sacked after this game.

Arsenal want to bounce back and get a high score.

I don't see much fight in Leicester (other than the manager obvs); Arsenal 6 - 0 Leics

I don't think the Spurs game was showing big problems in the Arsenal team, I just think it was them playing really well, and us not playing to our best on the day.

I don't think you should over-think it. 😆 We are good at beating small teams, Leicester are bottom.

We played too deep against Spurs. They play a high line defence and they crammed us in. We didn't have problems, we should've had more width and higher attacking players. If sanchez and wally started we would've done better

I agree. No need to read too much into it IMO, it's just how football goes sometimes.

Early goal, they'll get whooped. The longer it goes, the more nervous Arsenal get.

I disagree. Arsenal are just too good at home, and eat these sides for breakfast. On the other side of the coin, the leicester players could be negatively affected by the pearson stuff.

After losing 2-0 to Saints, they went on a 5 game winning streak winning four out of five games to nil. Prior the Spurs game their last four Premier League games had been wins to nil including a 2-0 win at Man City

I said i also think it will be a demolition. I just have a niggling feeling that there is a headline story in there somewhere with the Leicester players battling to a decent performance, doubtful it will happen but football is a funny game :F

Fair enough. Personally expecting a 4 or 5-0,

          Sanchez hattrick ofcourse

Fill in the last place in my defence:

    Foster / Ospina
    Terry / P Jones / PVA / Clyne / ?????

    Thinking Naughton.
    Anyone else I should consider?

Yeah, he should be. But don't know when he actually gets back to the UK. May be a bench appearance after his tournament exploits

    Pants
    Terry, Fonte, Naughton
    Hazard, Oscar, ADM, Silva
    Aguero, Kane, Defoe

    WardProwse, Chambers, wisdom

    If Sanchez plays should I:

    A) Do Silva/ADM > Sanchez (-4)
    B) Do Oscar > Caz (-4)
    C) Bench one of the 3 and play WardProwse

I think you probably need an Arsenal attacker. I'm doing Silva->Sanchez, but if Cazorla isn't starting then Cazorla->Sanchez.

A few diffs emerging now...Coutinho and Mane about to be joined by DeJong possibly in the mid priced mids...and surely Sterling out makes Sturridge a starter finally as a premium pick to go alongside Defoe as the emerging mid priced fwd...All good stuff....

I'm happy you mentioned de Jong. I brought him into my h2h draft league side. Hope it pays off but it's an agonizing wait with him taking up a precious spot.

Definitely..a couple of cameos coming up for him, but a good pick. Nice when you're not treading the same old boards as for the first twenty games.

Where will he slot in to the side? There was quite an interesting piece in the side touting him as possibly playing up front. That would be great if it materialised.

I really don't mean to be horrible or controversial here but I really think that Sky has had orders to show more women or has a new director for SSN, I'm all for equality but some of what they are showing looks like they are just making the numbers equal with a pointless story

They want to show "totty for the lads". Equality isn't really for SSN watchers generally.
