With just three Gameweeks of the season remaining, our round-up of the Fantasy Foot Scout leagues returns this evening. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.
Fantasy Premier League
Simon March, aka “Dufflinks”, remains at the summit of the Scout League – and the overall standings – after carding a solid 57 points in Gameweek 35. Despite the likes of Olivier Giroud and Raheem Sterling failing to deliver last time out, a 12-point haul from Wes Morgan and 16 points from Manchester City duo David Silva and Sergio Aguero ensured that Simon still enjoys a 31-point buffer.
Jeff Ryan spearheads the chasing pack, having closed the gap on Simon with 72 points in the last batch of fixtures. Jeff, who sits fourth in the global leaderboard, made an astute call and took a four-point hit to draft in Christian Benteke for David Nugent. Better yet, the Belgian marksman was handed the armband, complementing strong returns from the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Silva and his double Chelsea defensive coverage (Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry).
Third-placed Kev Gleave profited from his decision to retain Alexis Sanchez’s services since Gameweek Nine, matching Jeff’s score (72) for the Gameweek. Eden Hazard’s decent run-out as captain and 22 points from a three-man rearguard comprised of Morgan, Terry and Ivanovic served to render last weekend a success for Kev.
Resting six points shy of the top three, Killian Long kept faith with this double Gameweek players and rolled out a five-man midfield that included three Liverpool (Sterling, Coutinho, Jordan Henderson) and two Chelsea recruits (Hazard, Cesc Fabregas). Coutinho, Morgan and Kasper Scmeichel’s clean sheet delivered the bulk of his 68 points, while Sergio Aguero’s captaincy proved a lucrative decision.
Meanwhile, with 88 points, fifth-placed Matthew Greenland posted the fourth-highest score of any manager currently gracing the top 50. Boaz Myill, Sanchez and a captained Benteke combined for 58 points as Matthew secured his best Gameweek rank (3,523) of the campaign.
In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Simon March has a 45-point advantage over second-placed Killian Long, whilst Malcolm Rich takes third spot after an 89-point Gameweek 35 took him onto 2205 points for the season. Our Members league is third in the FPL “Best Leagues”, with the Fantasy Football Scout league sitting at the summit with three rounds of fixtures remaining.
Ultimate Fantasy Premier League
Damian Lindall (2635 points) maintained a healthy lead over second-placed Obay Eid (2596 points) in our UFPL Scout League, courtesy of a 64-point haul that sees him rank fourth overall. Lying 17 points back from Obay, Sean Tobin (2579 points) tallied an eye-watering 83 points last Gameweek, having invested faith in Benteke as captain. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.
Sky Sports Fantasy Football
Geoff Pryor sits atop the Scout League with an impressive 2246 points, yet Katie Burgin is mounting a title charge of her own with just three points separating the pair. A 21-point gap has opened up between Katie and third-placed Kevin Anderson, who rests on 2222 points. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins £1,000.
Champions League
Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. With only two-and-a-half Matchdays left on the agenda, Adriel Chung leads the Scout League with 743 points. Hot on his heels is Gavin Rolston with 740 points, while Juan Garcia occupies the bronze medal berth on 725 points. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.
