United and QPR have worries over their first-choice stoppers as we assess the weekendโ€™s new injury concerns for the final time this season. It’s fair to say that, this time round, the injuries have been kept to a minimum.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson missed Villaโ€™s 6-1 thrashing at Southampton due to a calf complaint.

Man United
David de Gea was replaced during this afternoonโ€™s draw with Arsenal after sustaining a hip injury.

QPR
Rob Green was forced off with a head knock after colliding with team-mate Joey Barton during the Rโ€™s home win over Newcastle.

Sunderland
Billy Jones was replaced late on in the Black Catsโ€™ goalless draw with Leicester due to a muscle problem.

Swansea
Ki Sung-Yeung missed Swanseaโ€™s home clash with City after undergoing minor knee surgery in time to be fit for the start of next season.

West Ham
James Collins was withdrawn early on against Everton due to a leg problem, the Hammers have confirmed. Kevin Nolan missed out due to a family bereavement.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

His saving grace is that he knows he is rubbish, so surrounds himself with an unbeatable backroom staff to do all the work for him. So its whether his staff are up to it.

It's only now we see how good Ferguson was and begrudgingly admit Jose has the X factor.
The big problems these days is to find that polished manager they're either employed or scare in nature.

Lvg is a good manager IMO. He's making progress, you can see that although United still need another big transfer window to get anywhere near Chelsea, who will strengthen themselves

I'll stick this here as well

I'd like to make a couple of points on Falcao. I have no doubt he's leaving but frankly I think it's a shame

They say class is permanent and he was the best striker in Europe for 5 years before a serious knee injury which was always going to take time to recover from. This meant he had very little pre-season and really had no time to bed in at United. But I was watching him closely today and I'm convinced that it's not that Falcao isn't good enough for us, it's that we're not good enough for him.

His movement in and around the box is as sharp as it ever was (there was also a moment in the 2nd half when he beat about 4 Arsenal players with a brilliant bit of skill and won a free kick in a dangerous area) but even our most creative players (Mata and Herrera) are simply not seeing them .
This means he often has to come deep or move into the channels to get the ball, what fecking use is he there? Also, it's no co-incidence IMO that Arsenal started to get on top when he went off for RvP. No matter what else was happening, Falcao was defending from the front, he was constantly pressurising Ospina, Kos and Mert, giving them no time on the ball to find passes and forcing lots of errors.

Then he went off and RvP came on and just strolled around like he didn't give a sh!t and constantly got caught offside. Suddenly Kos and Mert had 10-15 seconds on the ball as opposed to 2-3 so they were now able to start feeding passes to Caz, Ozil and Sanchez and Arsenal grew into the game and started to dominate

In short, I'd like to see Falcao stay, get a proper pre-season and give our players a better chance and knowing his game, but I suspect he is off

I just hope RvP follows him out of the door. His contribution to our last league title will always be remembered, but he's done for now

    1. In that case, you have to ask questions of the manager ...

Tbf the points total Utd have now would only have been good enough for 6th last season. They have scored 2 less goals with one game to go and conceded 6 less than last season. The form of ddg and fellaini is the only difference between their points total this year and last imo. LVG has done no better than Moyes did apart from in his dealings with the media.

All the strikers there seem to be suffering under the current playing style of United at the moment .

Having said that in all sports you see athletes that never gain the same level after a serious injury , and Falcao has shown nothing since he's return

I think he is not the same player after his injury and probably never will be now. It seems that he has to wear boots without studs to avoid impact on his knee but this means that he can't seem to stay on his feet.

You got one in Falcao and paid him 300k a week, LVG also spent an obscene amount of money to scrape 4th.

On reflection, a poor first season littered with embaressing moments and luckily for him Rodgers did worse.

Hence the Mueller / Lewandowski rumours. Of course, Mueller is not a typical number 9, but he has all the qualities to be one.

RVP is seemingly fading, Rooney has stagnated, Falcao - just isn't convincing. A team like United cannot allow themselves to continue like that up front.

I'll mention what I said before:

I think we should extend his loan period (cheaper salary), let him have a proper pre-season to build his fitness up and then see how well he does next season. I'd imagine we'll be looking to play a lot more direct next season because so far we've been so rubbish at providing those killer passes.

That's how I'd handle the situation anyway.

I agree about the RVP sub. Falcao was working hard both defensively and offensively. When the dutchman came on, United became frigid. LVG should have known better. His two subs went completely wrong.

As for his attacking abilities, Falcao had a horrible first touch, every time his legs got caught up as if his laces were tied together. Maybe that's temporary too, but it just doesn't look convincing to anybody.

City should launch an operation Tevez and get Falcao in... Him and Agüero would be so devastating combination. Sadly they went for Bony :/ and won't win the title next year either.

Very quick and a natural finisher, but he needs game time. A loan move would be good but it would have to be at the right club.

Is Silva essential this week? Would have to swap Ramsey for him so much of a muchness in terms of fixtures. Or will I instead focus my 2FT's on replacing Moreno and Henderson with Kolarov and Bolasie?

I wonder if Di Maria will stay or leave. I can't see him fitting into the system anywhere. Too lightweight to play his favored LCM, too wasteful for the wings. Hmmm.

Depay signalled the end of ADM IMO. Think Young and Depay will do well. Utd need to spend money on a keeper, striker, right back and midfielder

My overall rank is 5000 something and my rank among GW1 starters is 4000 something. Does that mean there's a bunch who started after me who's doing better? Is this the way to win FPL - register for GW2 while a lot of players spend their WC to repair their original squad?

It's not updated yet so you won't have as nowhere as many in front of you

    2. ACCOUNTING ON CHRIS

No because it means 1000 people out of 5000 people are doing better than you.

Sure it may work... but equally, you'd be just as good playing GW1 and taking hits to fix your team (if that's how you want to play), surely you'd net more points if you got 60 and took a 40pt hit...

      1. ACCOUNTING ON CHRIS
        • 12 Years

        so 4000/5000 started GW1
        1000/5000 started GW2

Therefore starting GW1 is probably better.

I tell you what, run 2 teams next season, and do an experiment!

Thinking about it a bit more...

          I suspect it's about equal,

As 4/5ths of people probably started GW1
          and may 1/5th started GW2...

But hard to know without someone getting the data.

You will probably only have 10 or so in front of you once it updates

They have made 50 odd points over the season , to be expected really considering the number of players

Guess the star performer for the last GW.

I'm thinking it'll be Lukaku, Benteke or Ulloa.

    Kasper
    Terry, Huth, Skrtel
    Hazard, Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez
    Aguero, Vardy, Kane

    Davis, Graelish, McShane, PVA

    A) Ozil > Silva
    B) Skrtel > Cresswell/Azpil
    C) Something else

Talk of him almost coming off early today at half time. He has looks shattered and Wenger has repeatedly said that he wants to give him some rest.

If Arsenal have 3rd wrapped up I would be very surprised to see him get more than 15mins if any at all.
