FFS Paddy Power Cup XI Final Preview & Members Cup V Winner

This evening we preview the final of the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup XI, plus reveal the winner of the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Waltzingmatildas was crowned the latest winner of our Members trophy, claiming a 75-61 victory over faux_C from Gameweek 37’s matches.

With both sides sharing so many assets, it was David Silva’s 9-point contribution and the 10-point return from Hector Bellerin that eventually saw Waltzingmatildas emerge victorious. She (Tanya Sharma) picks up a £200 Amazon voucher as her prize, while faux_C (Chris Doyle) claims a £100 voucher as his runners-up reward.

Chris has another opportunity to find glory, however, as his Gameweek 37 tally proved enough to see him progress to the final of the Paddy Power Cup XI. faux_C edged out HammersXI in our semi-final to move into Sunday’s final.

The big news is that Mark’s sensational run of form, propelling him to an overall rank of 64, has also earned him a place in Sunday’s showpiece to oppose Faux C. Mark’s impressive Gameweek 37 tally of 87 was enough to see off Hutton Dressed as Lahm in the semi-finals.

With a rank of 3825 faux_C goes into the tie as underdog but with markedly different squads, the tie is still hard to call. Our finalists have just three players in common – Jeffrey Schlupp, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez. Mark’s key differential looks set to be David Silva, while faux_C will be hoping for a haul from Christian Benteke and Olivier Giroud to give him the edge in the tie.

HammersXI and Hutton DressedAs Lahm will now go head-to-head in Sunday’s third place play-off.

Congratulations to our winners and best of luck to Sunday’s finalists. Even Mark.

Nice little discussion which was started in a rescent hot topic, but felt like it could be interesting to do it as it's own topic:

Use http://anewpla.net/fpl/ and look at how many points you've got from your goalkeepers, then check how many transfers you've made from transfer history, and then say something about your tactic with goalkeepers.

Will be nice to compare, and the more posts we get, the better we can which tactic was the "right" for this season atleast.

      Here's mine:

I got 160 points from my goalkeeper (benched 83)

I've used one transfer on gk'ers, excluding wildcards, and mostly had two rotating keepers, but at a point I had Panit+Myhill where panti was my only playing goalkeeper. I have only had cheap goalkeepers (4.5 max)

      That is a great website!

147 from keeper, 128 benched (33 of those from Myhill in last 4 GWs)

    I'm currently 11 points behind 1. place in my league and 21 in front of 3. ( 2,470 rank overall. ) Never used the forum this season and really looking for some tips. My team is;

    Krul (Pant)
    WASILEWSKI - MORENO - Bellerin (Wilson,PVA)
Sanchez - HAZ - STERLING - Silva (Gomez)
    Kane - Aguero - GIROUD

    His team

    De Gea (Pant)
Terry - Bellerin - Morgan (PVA, Rose)
Sanchez - Fellaini - ôZil - Silva (Puncheon)
    Benteke - Kane - Aguero

I was thinking Gomez -> Young and then captain Hazard as a differantial but now he is injured. Can't afford Sterling to Mata since I only have 0.1 in the bank, so I'm maybe thinking Bolasie for Sterling? I think there will be a lot of rotation the last weekend and Gomez is out, so was maybe thinking Giroud -> Vardy and Gomez to Mata but that will leave me -15 behind. I might wait out and see if he takes hits and then react depending on if Hazard plays or not. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking Haz and Gomez out for your choice of mids

      young/mata + Bolasie (or Adams)

Is Benteke a rest risk with the FA final looming?

Surely I can't take hits on Kosch, Sanchez and/or Giroud because of what Wenger has said?
