The ScoutCast – Episode 170 – Bingo

Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo it’s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichés along the way.

Thanks to Numb’s witty community contribution, this week’s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of “blimeys”.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters – assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilson’s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout on the larger player below.

    Would you do any of these transfers this week
    1) ...for free?
    2) ...for a hit?

    A) Coutinho -> KDB
    B) Gomis -> Pelle
    C) Gomis -> Martial

      A for free and maybe for a hit.

      Wouldn't do the others.

        I was pre planning transfer A for this week, regardless of how Coutinho performed last weekend. Thinking I should stick to the plan, and take his assists as a farewell present.
        Problem is, I had to get rid of Wilson earlier in the week, so now it would be for -4.

        Thanks for your input Beavis.

    Done some work this morning to find the two fixtures this weekend from each of the top four divisions in England to score and concede the most goals combined. (Most likely for BTTS or over 2.5 goals)

    Best 4

    Norwich v Leicester
    Bristol City v MK Dons
    Colchester v Bury
    Stevenage v Carlisle

    Next best 4

    Sunderland v West Ham
    Blackburn v Ipswich
    Peterborough v Millwall
    Leyton Orient v Notts County

    Might help a few of you with your accas this weekend!

      1. Essrick
        • 10 Years

        It was just the sum of goals scored and goals conceded by each team combined.

        For example;

        Norwich 11 goal scored + 12 goals conceded = 23
        Leicester 15 goals scored + 14 goals conceded = 29

        23 + 29 = 52

        Pretty simple but time consuming so I thought I would share!

    Meh. I'm a little disappointed in myself. Didn't want to take a hit for Wilson->Vardy so opted for Ighalo. Now I'm left pondering if I should've done Haz + Wilson -> Vardy + KDB.... But it's Haz, you know the guy that scored most last season, and to take him out for a hit...surely it wasn't sensible. argh.... What do you think? Would you have taken the hit?

      Hazard and a resurgent Chelsea versus Newcastle looked very tempting. Anyway, it's done now so I wouldn't worry too much. It's still early days for KDB and look what happened to Pedro in recent weeks so there's every chance Hazard will become the better option.

    I know some of you have probably seen me posting all week. I've trying to make the most of TV out of my wildcard, and now that its Friday, I am going to try and start building my team from the bottom up. If you have any thoughts I would love to hear them.

    Long term prospects please! I want to set up my team for the long haul.

    First up - Keepers

    Who do you like between the sticks this year? Do you prefer one keeper playing everyweek. with some sort of back up? or do you prefer a nice home/away or strong/weak fixture rotation?

    I am open to all sorts really, at the moment my watchlist of keepers looks a little like this, in no particular order:

    DDG
    Myhill
    Butland
    Hennessey
    Hart
    Cech
    Gomes
    Lloris

    I know thats a lot of keepers, but I cant figure it out lol. any help appreciated

    1. Joggers Nipple
      • 14 Years

      Myhill for me. Yes people say its a future transfer when Foster back but thats not until Xmas.

      DDG is a tempting one. Just put in and leave. Between those two for me and prob lean to Myhill

      1. Gazpilicueta
        • 9 Years

        and then might aswel put Hennessey on the bench cos of price/maybe minutes in an emergency?

      First of all price changes still effective until tomorrow right? So make up your mind about the team tonight but build it tomorrow.

    Would it be worth going AOA this gameweek? This is my squad:

    Myhill McCarthy

    Clyne (eve) Kolarov (NEW) Williams (TOT) Huth (nor) Saylor (mci)

    Payet (sun) Sanchez (MNU) Silva (NEW) Mahrez (nor) Ayew (TOT)

    Ighalo (bou) Aguero (NEW) Vardy (nor)

    Worth pointing out my two man defence in AOA would be Kolarov and Williams

    If I don't go AOA anyone have any ideas of who I should bench?
