Arsenal will be looking for revenge this evening as they host a Southampton side that put four goals past them at St Mary’s on Boxing Day. City and Tottenham both face away trips to bottom-four sides Sunderland and Norwich – encouragingly, they defeated their respective opponents by three-goal margins in the reverse fixtures earlier this season. Table-toppers Leicester’s match with Liverpool should also be a compelling clash – the Reds were victorious in their last encounter but the Foxes have built up some resilience in recent weeks.

Wednesday’s pair of matches finishes off the Gameweek. Everton will be expecting another victory over Newcastle, given that the Toffees have prevailed in five of their last six league matches. Meanwhile, Chelsea will travel to Watford having scored five goals in the FA Cup at the weekend – the Blues are unbeaten in seven while the Hornets picked up back-to-back wins by dispatching Nottingham Forest to join the Fifth Round pot.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring and pricing system.

Check out this video to see how team creation works.

MY TEAM

Kasper Schmeichel (4.5m)
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (4m)
Aaron Creswell (5.5m)
Laurent Koscielny (6m)
Dele Alli (5m)
Michail Antonio (5m)
David Silva (10m)
Alexis Sanchez (11m)
Romelu Lukaku (9m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)
Sergio Aguero (13m)

KEY PICKS

Kasper Schmeichel: Claudio Ranieri appears to have focused on defensive solidity of late and the Foxes keeper has been crucial to that plan. Schmeichel has registered an average of 3.2 saves per appearance during a five-match run that has seen his side concede just once ahead of this evening’s King Power clash with Liverpool.

Aaron Creswell: Coincidentally, the left-back’s last attacking returns arrived against upcoming opponents Aston Villa on Boxing Day, netting a goal just before the interval in a 1-1 stalemate. Cresswell – who also has three assists and eight bonus points to his name – will be optimistic of defensive points against an attack with just three goals in their last six road trips.

Alexis Sanchez: The Arsenal attacker looks in line for a first league start since Gameweek 14 as Southampton roll up to the Emirates tonight. Sanchez provided an assist and the winning goal in the FA Cup encounter with Burnley and will be a pivotal figure in the Gunners’ push for the title.

Harry Kane: Tottenham’s top scorer arrives at Norwich on the back of successive strikes in the last couple of Gameweeks. Handed a late substitute appearance in the FA Cup win over Colchester, Kane should be fully refreshed to face a Canaries side that he’s also scored twice again this season.

THIS WEEKS GAME PICKS

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the free-rolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard and flash formats.

There’s a Double-Up game for £3.30 entry with a guaranteed prize pool of £120 and also FantasyBet’s biggest game, the Grand Midweek, where your compete for a £1000 guaranteed prize pool on a £5.50 buy-in. Multiple entries are possible in both and they cover all ten fixtures for this midweek slate.

LAST WEEK

I head into this the midweek matches on the back of some success, after the team from last week’s article delivered a first-placed finish from 247 participants in the Free-roll.

I also earned returns from the double-up and the Scout Picks league, leaving me on £167.57. There was no such luck in the big pot, though – SuperJamesy took the top spot with 93 points, captaining Odion Ighalo for a 24-point haul proved a canny decision.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I will enter the Double-Up, the Grand contest, the free-rolls and the FFScout Picks League for the mid-week fixtures for a total outlay of £9.90.

In addition, I’ll be going up against Doosra, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22. Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

SuperSaiyyan topped last week’s Scout’s Picks League – Roberto Firmino, Dele Alli, Sergio Aguero and Odion Ighalo all scored 12 points or more to provide a total of 98 points.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

yeah, well it's a gamble whenever you play it so we shouldn't obsess so much about it! I'm sure you'll be alright tho if you at least have 15 playing squad members at the time

      2. I would say 23 points for the BB would be slightly below average for a well managed DGW personally

no one will be getting 15 DGW players in a team, not without significant sacrifices in terms of hits or points lost for the wrong players picked for other weeks.

            It just doesn't happen.

This. The only benefit of playing BB on a DGW mathematically is if you have DGWers on the bench.

And you can afford to bench good single week players that week - but most seem to bench good players every week anyway

The ONLY mathematical advantage is if you have DGWers on the bench - that is a fact.

You say I'll have 4 less SGWers than you - but I also have a BB which can be used any other week and give me those 4 SGWers over you.

Your point doesn't make sense. The DGW makes no difference for BB. You could say the same thing about your single gw players any other week

              3. I'd rather play BB with a bench of (for example) Aguero, Sanchez, Wolly (2 matches) and Hennessey (2 matches) than a bench of Hennessey (1 match), Targett (1 match), Wolly and Alli

Yes, may be so but you don't know how favourable those fixtures will be and you obviously need to plan a stronger bench than that. We can tell right now who's gonna have great fixtures and when for SGW and plan ahead for those

What I'm saying is that this obsession with BB is being based a lot on people who can't count - there is NO mathematical benefit

There's no way anyone will have 15 DGW'ers to bench boost.

Those of you saying that you will aim for 12 DGW'ers, that means you have 3 players with single fixtures on the bench, which is EXACTLy the same of using BB now when you have a bench of 3 players who have a good fixture/form.

        1. But the SGW'ers will be much much better (in theory) than your current bench, no?

You are calculating wrong as there are some SGW players you will want to play regardless of BB or not...in Single GW's , those players will be in your starting XI , not your bench . but in DGW , they will be on your bench

Please stop saying calculating because you don't know what you're talking about.

The advantage (if you have 11 or less DGWERS) is that it's nice to be able to bench solid single week players. That IS IT

As long as there are no blanks GW36 then it's all good. 2 FT's to sort add a DGW's before GW37 or use both GW38

You'll only have one FT because you've just used your wildcard. But I believe that GW37 will be rife with rotation. It always is - it's near the end of the season and the games don't mean a great deal, so fringe players get a run out. Plus 2 of the teams you'll be picking from will have a Cup Final to play so there's not much chance of them wanting to play their big guns 3 times in a week running up to this - could be even worse if there's a Europa Final in there to contest too (although unlikely). I just think that in theory, it's a great option - in reality, not so much.

          But we'll see.

Another option is to WC to 11 DGW's in GW34, then ride out GW35 (with the help of your bench and triple captain), with the aim of playing bench boost for 15DGW in GW37

    DDG
    Toby, Evans, Moreno
    Ozil, Payet, Mahrez, Yaya
    Kane, Aguero (C), Lukaku

    SUBS: Hennessey; Wollscheid, Stanislas, Bertrand

2FT with 0.3 ITB, looking to spend at least one.

    here's my attack:

    Ozil, Ramsey, Mahrez, KDB, Stanislas

    Kun, Lukaku, Kane

    I have 2FT and 0.9itb

    My likely transfers:
    (1) KDB -> Payet
    (2) Ramsey -> Sanchez

Transfer (1) is set in stone.

Im hesitating about (2) though. Would leave me Arsenal heavy and ignoring other options who are firing at the moment, like Oscar and Alli.

Also, perhaps a bit sideways as Ramsey has still been having chances., which leads to another factor: is Ramsey likely to keep his CDM spot from which he's been quite effective attack-wise?

    Happy to know your thoughts

I think Sanchez in a better pick than Ramsey, you could always ship Özil if double Arsenal is not delivering. But of course Ramsey will keep his place, who would replace him?

Only £0.1 itb so can't do KdB to Sanchez. Also got Ozil so would have to do Ozil to Alexis. Can do KdB to Firmino and Nyom to Ivan but will have to take a hit to get Alexis next week.

Lukaku is playing Newcastle at home, that would be mental.

I don't think it's a wise move to sell Lukaku for -4 just before NEW

I know it is a poor move - thinking out loud I suppose.
      Cheers nonetheless.

Very unlikely now that there'll be DGW25.

Means a hetic few weeks from 30's onward

That's a bit snotty Rupert. I read through the last four or five pages and I couldn't see anything that said for sure what the feeling was.

Madness to do Alder - Cresswell. I have Toby from the start. But now Vert is out and fixtures are bad. Or him or Kosc? If I transfer out Toby I will get Alli in (I have Eriksen and Kane for now).

    A. Madness
    B. Utter madness

Not sure about that move, Spurs are better defensively, but don't really keep clean sheets.

You definitely don't need triple Spurs attack though.

      Maddness for a WestHam defender.

Why? They have better fixtures. Also they have 7 CS (same as Spurs).
