Hey, TM. What do you think of Defoe? I took a punt on Pelle and I could sell him to Defoe and free up funds to upgrade Alli to Payet.

        Current team is:

        Robles /DDG
        Smalling /Bellerin/ Sakho /Gabrie l/Delaney
        KDB/ Alli /Sanchez/ Lanzini/ Mahrez
        Kun/ Kane/ Pelle

Possibly no bench cover, but the 11 you have should play. Is there someone you have your eye on for the DGW? Studge needs to get through this week healthy, but he could serve you well for the DGW.

A cold hard look at the Bench Boost:

    GW 30: 77 points
    GW 31: 84 points
    GW 32: 78 points
    TOTAL 239 points

    GW 33: 63 points [WC]
    GW 34: 171 points [BB] [-4]
    GW 35: 35 points [-4]
    TOTAL: 261 points

While the BB brought me into the Top 10,000, I think we might need to rethink the plan next year...

    1. Zilla42
      • 16 Years
      10 years, 13 days ago

Completely agree. We didn't have any early DGW's. By the time WC and BB became a viable option, rotation and injury etc dampened the fun . . . .

      GW30: 61
      GW31: 81
      GW32: 79 (WC)
      Total: 221 points

      GW33: 69 (TC, Lukaku fail)
      GW34: 171 (BB) [-4]

      Total: 225

      GW33: 68 (-4)

    Robles (Darlow)
    Bellerin Simpson Smalling (Gabriel* Sakho*)
    Sanchez Payet Firmino Lanzini (Coutinho*)
    Aguero Kane Defoe

    How does this plan look?

This week - Sakho to Cresswell
    Next week - either:
    (A) Gabriel to PvA, or
    (B) Aguero and Coutinho to Sturridge and Hazard (-4)

Whm don't do many clean sheets. Relying really on Cresswell attacking returns. PvA slightly more attacking threat, better CS prospects and playing a worse team this GW.

    How did fix this mess?

    Robles Darlow
    Lovren Bellerín Sakho Gabriel Delaney
Payet Sánchez De Bruyne Alli King
    Kane Mitrovic Agüero

1 FT, £2.4m in the bank.

    No WC 🙁

Seems 4 defenders, 2/3 mids and 1/2 forwards need to go 🙁

That is some mess. What do you think are Alli's chances of being suspended? I'd be looking at Mitrovic and Sakho to Defoe/Carrol and PvA/Cresswell. Lovren and Delaney might be okay for this week.

I'm in almost the same position, with Gabriel, Sakho, Mitrovic, Alli, KDB, Delaney but I also have Coutinho 🙁

I think I'm going to go for -8 this week and next and hope that that fixes it.

In your situation, priorities out would be Alli (if suspended) and Sakho. Followed by Mitrovic, Gabriel, KDB.

Evening. Last week I posted the early leaders in total points for the three gameweek sequence from 33-35 that many of us had built our chip strategies around. After tonight's match, here are the final results:

Spurs are the only SGW team to supply players to the Dream Team, certainly reinforcing the notion that a load up for the DGW could have been a viable strategy. As with so many decisions in FPL, it is the specific players themselves who determine success or failure, much more so than an one size fits all tactic. Counting DGWers in the hopes that a certain number would automatically entitle a manager to a guarantee of success seems a bit random and shallow, though the numbers above show that there were plenty of strong DGW options out there.

One interesting note is that DGW goalkeepers and defenders represented some of the most successful options, with nine of the eleven players scoring 20+ points being DGWers, because of the ability of managers to rotate: a GK or defender with a blank in 35 or a single in 33 could have been rotated effectively with a DGW34 alternative.

Meanwhile, the attackers were much more represented by SGW players. In midfield, only Sanchez represented a hugely popular pick who paid off, with cheaper alternative Milner and differential Townsend shining as well. Aguero was likely in most every FFS team, while fortune favored the brave managers who embraced the brave managers who risked selecting Daniel Sturridge and Andy Carroll. The Spurs super midfield trio offered the clearest example of the merits of sticking by quality, motivated players even if they don't have a double.

      Cheers for that, great analysis.
Imo you should count Gomes and Carroll in the Spurs category as they had three games over this period (a sgw, a dgw and a blank) while all other players in the Dream team had 4 games (a dgw and no blank).

Sanchez staying for sure, still deciding on Aguero, Kane, Mahrez and Alli (if he doesn't get a suspension) but more likely to ship all four.

Who would you captain for 36 ? I think Sanchez is the best option. It is true it worked well for me not owning Kane this GW, but too risky to try it again with Sanchez next week imo.

C on Sanchez. Plan is to transfer him out to Hazard and then back again in 38. Seems silly?
Of course still depends how Chelsea perform this week first.

If Hazard does well against Spurs, I will be tempted to do that, although the original plan is to save a transfer in gw37 and then take two punts in the final GW.

Thinking of holding FT and for -4 do the following next week.
Would leave 8 maybe 9 dgwers for 37 TC

    Sahko > Valencia
    Iwobi > hazard
    Kane > Defoe
Thought appreciated. First bash at 37 team. Not sure about any of these options.
Would leave 0.3 itb and still have sanchez Kun and Sturridge who all have nice 38 fixtures.

Bad word around these parts, but Lukaku could come good when we least expect him to......
