Craig Dawson scores at both ends of the pitch as West Brom all but end Tottenham’s title tilt. Christian Eriksen picks up the points yet again, though Dele Alli could be in hot water after an apparent off-the-ball incident with Claudio Yacob was missed by the referee. Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy’s ban will be extended by one match ahead of Leicester’s vital trip to Old Trafford.

Spurs title bid almost over

Tottenham Hotspur’s slim title hopes all but ended following a 1-1 victory at White Hart Lane, ensuring that Leicester City require a solitary victory to lift the Premier League crown.

Christian Eriksen provided the assist for the Craig Dawson own goal that opened the scoring, meaning that he now delivered attacking returns (one goal, five assists) in his last six starts. The Dane is now up to third in the FPL midfield standing on 170 points to team-mate Dele Alli’s 166, though the latter’s 34% owners will be bracing themselves after he appeared to throw a punch at the Baggies’ Claudio Yacob. Given that the referee failed to see the incident, Alli could face a retrospective violent conduct charge by the FA, potentially resulting in a three-match suspension that would rule him out for the rest of the season.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, spurned a golden opportunity in the first period but proved largely ineffectual for the remainder of the encounter. Nonetheless, the 10.4-priced marksman has netted 14 goals in 18 London derbies during his fledgling career, which paints a positive picture ahead of the Lilywhites’ trip to Chelsea next Monday night.

Eric Dier was withdrawn 15 minutes from time after complaining about dizziness. Given how crucial the enforcer is to Tottenham’s defensive resolve, his potential absence would force us to reassess their clean sheet prospects at Stamford Bridge.

Dawson salvages point for Baggies

Tony Pulis’ side arrested a run of three successive defeats with a hard-fought draw against the North Londoners.

The Baggies were without Ben Foster and Sadio Berahino for the trip to White Hart Lane after both were ruled out with ankle problems.

Craig Dawson atoned for his early own goal with a headed leveler, courtesy of a Craig Gardener assist at the opposite end. The 5.1-priced right-back ranks joint-second among all defenders for goals (four) this term but – like the rest of his teammates – is unlikely to attract investment in appreciation of West Brom’s challenging schedule (WHU, bou, LIV).

Vardy Banned for United Clash

Earlier this morning, the FA confirmed that Jamie Vardy has been handed a one-match suspension on the grounds of improper conduct following his dismissal against West Ham United.

Having sat out the weekend win over Swansea, the Leicester forward attended a personal hearing yesterday but his attempt to avoid an extra ban has failed. Given that he will now be available for the Gameweek 37 home encounter against Everton, thus handing him just two more matches before the season ends, many of his 37% owners may look to cut ties at a time where eight sides play four times in the final three rounds of fixtures.

Leonardo Ulloa is likely to shrug off the minor back problem that forced him off against the Swans on Sunday to lead the line at Vardy’s expense. Given that the Argentine netted twice in the 4-0 win, Claudio Ranieri may well retain an unchanged lineup as Leicester go to Old Trafford looking to clinch the title.

What did PBJ say? 🙂 missed it.. (or else, whoosh..)

I'd like to keep KdB this week if he'll get any minutes, but if he's out then it'd be silly to ship Firmino instead.. KdB out next week regardless.

Rose only potentially out due to PvA looking good..

History suggests KDB is playing one game a week which at the moment is Europe. Best you can hope for is a sub appearance. That's my take on it anyway.

At least you didn't triple captain him after.

I guess KDB is the first one that needs to go for a DGW mid. Not sure on Firmino as he seems to start most/all games. I'm keeping because Sakho and probably Alli have left me with bigger problems. Martial is a tricky one with a DGW coming up - still in my team, but I may sell him for Sturridge (TC). Rose probably lowest priority.

I'm a bit worried I got Firmino in too late.. we shall see Thursday!

If KdB and City get a decent result tonight I think I gotta sell him. Martial I just don't trust at the moment with his fixtures..

              Yep agree on all counts!

Hate having Firmino in my team as he hardly ever looks threatening when I watch Liverpool games these days. He just somehow pops up with these hauls semi-regularly, so it seems daft so sell him before a DGW. Would never risk captaining him though - unless Sturridge gets an injury. That would make things very interesting!

I don't trust Utd's attack either - hence probably selling Martial this GW for Sturridge, if he survives Europa. But keeping him wouldn't necessarily be a disaster if I need to make other transfers before DGW37.

Short term neither rough nor smooth - with no bench and Sakho out I took a hit to get Alli in for Payet. Ended up paying for itself exactly.

Long term though that's rough as Alli may have played his last match this season. May even get Payet back, but currently watching to see if Carroll and cresswell are better alongside Lanzini.

Not a lot of rough or smooth!

Smooth...got XI players out by hook or by crook taking a -4 with only Coutinho not starting. My hit was for Defoe and Kane(c) in for Martial and Vardy.

Rough... Kane captain fail like many of us, so I only just squared up my -4!! Lol.

All out on 33(-4) but my rivals were all in the 30's too. I'm now bang on 500k which is 300k up, and I've reeled in my league leader from 180 ahead to 35! Shocking season overall.

Absolute stinker. GW rank 3.3 milion with 26 (-4), on par with my worst GW score ever. OR doubled from 5K to 10K, lead cut from more than 30 points to just 10 in my cash league worth a cool 3 grand.

KDB, Sakho, Gabriel no shows, Mitrovic, Coutinho benched. Like you Jonty I took a -4 to bring in Alli for Payet, a transfer I now just want to reverse considering Alli's petulance.

Then, KdB and Gabriel did not play, Sakho drugged himself out of the match, Coutinho decided to grace my team with a 1 point cameo, which was all in addition to my Payet, Smalling on the bench sitting beside Dawson who scored an Own Goal. Net total of 8 of my XI starting the matches.

52 (-4) - one of those rare times my back 3 all got cleanies. Oddly the Liverpool guys who I was just happy to see in the starting line-up and had high hopes for did the worst (Migs n Milner).

Smooth: No Spurs players didn't hurt me too bad. Rough: Only had 6 players starting as I decided not to take any hits for single game weekers and no double gameweekers I wanted this week. That left me with Robles/Martial/Lanzini/Smalling on the bench, while Sakho/Gabriel/Coutinho/KDB/Mitrovic didn't start. At least I survived this gameweek without falling too far behind ( 35 points) and I can have 10 DGW players with just 1 hit

      Martial + Coutinho -> Ali + Kane

Triple captained Kane, watched the game and saw my title challenge go down in flames along with Spurs... I'm a Spurs fan a rather dark evening I won't be forgetting for a while.

      34pts (-4)

My advice to everyone to not put all your fantasy points on the back of the striker of the team you support when a bad result ends in double misery.

Rough: Walker, Alli & Kane in for a -8...paid for themselves and no more. I then gained two points on the transaction by captaining Kane.
Rough: I got both the yellow-carded clean sheets...two of the only 4 defenders to get booked this week. Spoils my only actual points gained somewhat!
Rough: KDB and Coutinho are killing me. Absolutely the wrong wildcard picks in GW32...not that I was expecting either team to progress in Europe. My alternatives would have been Ozil (who scored first week after my wildcard) and Firmino, which is a little galling in hindsight.
Rough: after a DGW34 BB 193 last week, crashing back down to earth with 32(-8).
Smooth: had already moved Alli on (for Iwobi) before the West Brom kung-fu incident. Might be a saving grace.

Score of 57 no hits taken. Had no keeper so played with 10 men.

      Smooth:
-Benched Sakho as I knew he would concede.
      -Captained Aguero
-Got Long in GW34 with my eyes set on GW35
-Used FT to do Smalling to Simpson. Full house of CS with Simpson Fuchs and Bellerin

Jumped from 32,765 to 23,362 so pretty smooth for me 🙂

I fielded no defenders this week playing the fabled 0-5-2 formation!

Smalling was an expected blank playing in the FA Cup final then Clichy had an unidsclosed back injury, Clyne was ill, Sakho was suspended whilst under investigation for PEDs and Gabriel was left on the bench.

~ £25m of defensive assets combined for 0 minutes of football 😕

pretty reasonable week, 47 points so a slight recovery on last week and a small jump back up the ranks despite not fielding a full team:

      Smooth:
      Aguero (c) instead of Kane
      Eriksen assist & bps
      PVA cleansheet
      Mahrez

      Rough:
      Gabriel didn't play

      nothing week.
Stand out was Mahrez but other 10 players combined for a total of 30 pts.
I blame Sakho for everything - drug test & if he hadn't scored against Dortmund my triple Liverpool woud have done better!!

The smoothest operator over the last 3 game-weeks must surely be world number one Dimitri Nicolaou.
      http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1236102/event-history/35/
Dimitri played his Wildcard in GW33, scoring 88 points (Hennessey 18, Ward 18, Moreno 12) and moving up from 24th to 6th.
In GW34 he reached the summit by playing his Triple Captain chip and scoring 169 (Sanchez 25*3, Aguero 26, Sturridge 17, Rashford 10).
This week he increased his lead at the top to 39 points with a score of 65 (Sturridge 6*2, Moreno 10, Cech 9, Mahrez 9).
And on Sunday he joined the FantasyFootballScout mini-league, thus propelling it to the top of the Best Leagues table – he was already in the other 4 Best Leagues!
He still has his Bench Boost chip available and appears well placed to be this season’s FPL Champion.
I posted this last Thursday: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2016/04/21/scout-notes-gameweek-34-wednesday-3/?hc_page=1#hc_comment_13202997

      Rough:
Worst GW of the season with 26 points (34-8).
Having captained Martial in GW34 (I know), took a couple of hits to fund Kane(C) which failed miserably.
Sakho and Gabriel didn't play which meant I had 9/15 active.

So, after working hard to get the team back up to a reasonable OR of 100K, it seems like a miserable end to the season.

Was set on having Carroll, Payet, Cresswell as my three West Ham.

But in Alli price bracket, the choices is reduced. Except Lanzini.

True. I don't know how it works when a player is going for the golden boot. Does the manager bow to that player's desire to play in order to pursue an individual goal? Not sure about that. Also there may be discussion between the FA and Spurs regarding his game time with the Euros in mind.

so after Kane (c) let me down (and for a hit no less) am now staring down the barrel of 36 point gap with 3 GWs to go

Getting my TC right looks now looks absolutely crucial

Yeah, same for me. Really favouring a West Ham lad, just unsure who. Currently prefer Carroll to Lanzini to Payet.

      Kane (c) this week?

I think mine be Carroll or Sturridge

I think Sturridge is the better option all things being equal, but they are not currently equal, so it depends on his minutes in the EL

Currently on Sanchez (c) for GW36

Yeah, that's the problem. No way to guarantee minutes, and fully expect a rest in the first game. Benteke will play some part in the double.

Yeah, he's the standout, but just get the feeling he'll be overshadowed by Ozil & Iwobi. Welbz starting will be key to his chances

Mahrez TC to win the league?

think if I still had TC left I'd consider putting it on Lukaku for the dgw, either him or Payet.

But Payet is so goddamn inconsistent in fpl terms.. 🙁

definitely, but the 2 bites at the cherry and both being home games would be decisive for me.

Glad I've already used all my chips this year!

I might end up going for a single gigantic chomp in GW38 yet.

What do you think the chances are of these playing in GW36 (and why?)
    - Gabriel
    - Fosu-Mensah
    - KDB
    - Mitrovic

I have all these four (plus Alli).

after playing like total dullard nearly whole season i decided that end of season is time for taking a gamble

    -Lukaku C this gw
    -Payet TC next gw

some of you will say that Payet is not a gamble but he is for me since in whole season i capitaned Aguero , Kane or Lukaku (with exception of last dgw when sanchez has been my capitan)

for some reasons i dont like to C midfiled players

after looking at Payet stats i think i'll give him ambard and hope for the best

stuck on 40k and winning money leagues so i could try something different

Good punt on Lukaku that. Tempted to bring him in, but not enough striker slots!

Lukaku out for Pelle for -4. Cost me my Fantasy Football Fix quarter final match. Still kicking myself as I was set on Ulloa till Thursday, really thought Saints would crush Villa .... Well fine they did! But no Pelle hurt.

Any advice on where to start with players out??

    Robles, Mignolet
    Clyne, Gabriel, Smalling, Huth, Simpson
    Sanchez, Iwobi, Payet, Mahrez, Coutinho
    Kun Kane Defoe

    All for -4

    A) Coutinho & Gabriel -> Fabregas & Koscielny
    B) Clyne & Gabriel -> Reid & Koscielny
    C) Smalling & Clyne -> PvA & Cresswell
    D) A mixture of them or something completely different?

Watford players, play Villa, followed by a double gameweek with Liverpool and Norwich. Should we get at least one?

I thought about it, but there aren't enough striker spots and that will be where the points are

Hello guys! Which of the following moves would you prefer or suggest something else?

    DDG
    Simpson, Delaney, Bellerin
    Lanzini, Coutinho, Sanchez, Payet
    Pelle, Aguero, Kane

subs: Darlow, Gabriel, Alli, Sakho --- 1 FT, 1.8 ITB

    A) Pelle, Sakho -> Rashford/Martial, Smalling (-4)
    B) Pelle, Gabriel -> Rashford/Martial, Smalling (-4)
    C) Pelle, Alli and Gabriel -> Defoe, Özil and Cresswell (-8)

Can't believe I dropped Payet instead of Coutinho for Alli. Looking like a really bad decision that one.
