Tuesday’s second Euro 2016 match sees Portugal take on Iceland, the smallest nation to ever reach the European Championship finals.

Despite using just 20 players during qualifying, Iceland came second in a tough group, which also included Holland and the Czech Republic, to reach their first major tournament. While their confidence will be further buoyed by a 4-0 friendly victory over Lichtenstein, the Scandinavians, who are under the dual management of Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson, also recorded a 3-2 loss against Norway during their pre-tournament preparations.

Fernando Santos’ Portugal topped their qualifying group and are veterans of the final stages of this competition, having reached the semi-finals in four of their last six appearances. Cristiano Ronaldo will be heavily relied on having scored or assisted nine of Portugal’s 21 goals since his European Championship debut in 2004. The Real Madrid forward also comes into the competition in good recent form, scoring a brace as Portugal beat Estonia 7-0 during their pre-tournament build up.

Italians 😉 Possibly some Belgium lads even though they looked atrocious. Spain lads, especially defence. Punt on Konoplyanka I'd do. Siggy too.

Cheers Jazz, I think I'm going to do it.
Zlatan/Junuzovic/Nolito/Swiss defence don't fill me with any confidence at all.

Which strikers would you recommend? Mandzukic? Morata?

Not a huge fan of either. Maybe Mandzukic. I'd recommend Giroud but no idea about the other two slots.

I'd like to know what filters and or sorting had used to get improved results using this and other tables as have to go long way down to find anyone with any assists/goals who have scored or an assist in the tournament so far. Maybe just haven't found out the best way to improve my results with these tables.

Decided to hold on to my wildcard for this round and base selections on statistics in the finals itself later in the tournament.

Only change for me Pogba -> Payet

I felt like a kid in a candy store being able to swap my C, in the end, I ended up with near possible worst case scenario. My C got me 2 pts total. Lesson hard earned, in this format there is a paradox of choice.

A very enjoyable performance from Iceland.

Long balls, threat from long throws, proper deep defence with with 2 banks of 4, none of this high-line pressing nonsense. And restricted a much better technical team to very few clear cut chances. Lovely. 🙂

Anyone experiencing a problem trying to change the order of their starting lineup for Matchday 2? I can click on a player and choose substitute but then can't click on the other player. Can't even change formation.

Can someone please explain this to me - as its the start of a new matchday my understanding is I can set me team and formation again according to the squad I have. However, whenever I try and substitute a defender (the one I want out is Dragovic but I have tried this with all of them) to bring back Rami it won't let me. The only sub option it gives is to let me bring in Portugal's Guerrero - anyone know why this is - once you sub a player out can you not bring him in again at all for the rest of the rounds?

    1. Spanfrong
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 8 months ago

Its all also not letting me bring back Giroud - or any of the players I subbed out in the first matchday - if this continues gonna have to quit unfortunately - can't work with a handicap like that.

Alright guys. I don't know if it's a glitch but last night when I logged on to do my transfers it gave me a unlimited transfers. There was no option of the wildcard or taking minus points. Today I just logged on my transfers are done but those options are now there. Am I missing something?
