Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Southampton vs Burnley

Sunday’s events conclude at St Mary’s as Southampton play host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Saints will be seeking a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, a seventh in a row in all competitions.

Visitors Burnley will need to improve their attacking threat in order to threaten that record. The Clarets have scored just five goals from their seven matches, creating three big chances – the fewest in the Premier Leauge.

The Saints attack has disappointed with just seven goals scored in their seven matches. However, the statistics show that they have the potential to improve on that record in this one: Claude Puel’s side have produced a shot on goal every 4.8 minutes at St Mary’s – only Liverpool have been more threatening in home matches this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What are people doing with Snodgrass?

Considering ditching to Arnautovic or Sigurdsson in a week or two's time if he continues to fail. Any other options to consider?

Firmino and Rashford both to brace in an epic 3-3 tomorrow to bring my 18 score on Saturday to a delicious 50+.

    We can all dream eh...

    Can't decide who downgrade:

Snoddy to Allen or Capoue to Coquelin
    to make
Valencia to Mustafi or Williams to Vertonghen

Toughie. Snod has good fixtures. But Allen's on form. I'd rather get rid of Capoue, but I wouldn't want Coq on my bench.

I think Mustafi is better value than Vert. But I'd rather have Valencia than Williams.

Perhaps you're trying to use transfers where they're not necessary. Snod, Cap, Val, Williams is as good as any combination after those changes, in my eyes.

Current backline. 1FT. 0.3 ITB. What's the most pressing issue? What's the first moooove? Appreciated.

    Pick / Jak
    Valencia / Baines / Walker / Amat / Love

    A) Jak → Grant
    B) Baines/Valencia → 5.8 (who?)
    C) Baines/Valencia → Holebas/Smith
    D) Combination & take a hit
    E) Wait A week for Baines → Cresswell
    THEN Upgrade Love → 4.5
    OR Valencia → 6.0 (Luiz/Alonso/Smalling/Mustafi)
    OR save.

Who should I ship out first?

    A) Antonio
    B) Evans
    C) Defoe

0.0ITB. Frustrating as I would love Arnautovic, Tadic and Sigurdsson at 7.2 (I can sell Antonio for 7.1)
