The FA have this afternoon confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match ban for violent conduct following an altercation with Tyrone Mings during Manchester United’s weekend draw against Bournemouth.

Today’s news is set to have a major effect on the Fantasy Premier League transfer market as we look for alternatives to the 34.9% owned Red Devils frontman.

Ibrahimovic will miss the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final match against Chelsea, in addition to United’s next two Premier League fixtures against Middlesbrough and West Brom, before returning to contention in time for the Gameweek 31 home encounter with Everton on Tuesday, April 4.

Devoid of a Gameweek 28 fixture as a result of that Chelsea encounter, the Swede – who has scored just once in his last five league appearances – was already the number one asset for transfers out since the weekend deadline passed.

Over 34,000 former Ibrahimmovic owners have made the move to Harry Kane – Spurs may also without a league match this weekend but they then face Southampton and Burnley while the Swede spends his enforced time on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, 31,000+ have swapped him out for Romelu Lukaku as Everton host West Brom this weekend in the first of four favourable home fixtures in six, while Swansea’s Fernando Llorente – with five goals in six – has been an automatic replacement for over 14,000 FPL managers ahead of a weekend trip to Hull.

Arguably, the lack of viable options up top for a four-match Gameweek 28 slate may somewhat limit the exodus over the next few days, yet with the likes of Diego Costa facing Stoke and Palace over Gameweek 29-30, we can expect the transfers out to intensify next week once all the big guns are back in contention.

Nonetheless, as one of just three sides with two fixtures still to be scheduled – along with Arsenal and Southampton – there’s no doubt that the Swede still has a major part to play later in the season once the double Gameweeks are finally scheduled.

I've got 7 as well. Contemplating a hit to make it 8, but not convinced yet

Only takes a second to score a goal....

Or in Amat's case miss a clear chance and give away a pen.

      10+Amat for a -4, once I've finally decided on a transfer.

Looks good now, but I've been monstered by shortage of Spurs/Chelsea players last couple of gws 🙁

Currently on 7, will definitely make it 8, and considering a hit to bring that up to 9. Of course, that's if you still consider Phillips a player and not three kids stacked on top of each other under a West Brom strip.

Ibra->Lukaku done. If lucky (Phillips&Diomande) I'll field 10, if not only 8, but a hit is also an option.

It won't be Kun. It could be Sterling.

If I was guessing, I would think Sagna, Yaya, and Ras will make way.

Rash will play, for sure. 2 week punt is tempting, but other fires may be more important. Gabbiadini to replace Aguero in GW30 looks v tempting longer term, so I can afford Haz & Sanchez.

Actually I'm going to make this a free standing post in case this stuff hasn't been posted on here yet...

        "Update 6th Mar 2017

Almost certain now that new price change rules have been implemented for this season. These are currently affecting the transfers for both blank and double game week players. I don't want to make any code or database changes until the new rule conditions are fully understood. Hopefully some illumination may occur from the price changes overnight. Currently, the new rules are impacting players from teams who do not have a game during the next game week. Please treat any player who does not have a game next week and is currently predicted to rise / fall with caution. You have been warned!!!''

          Great spot, Lawro!

I wonder what they've done - is it to not punish those who don't realise there's blanks too hard that they are cushioning the fall of some players and raising the ceilings for rises on blankers..

I don't even know what's the problem? Are they getting rises/falls all wrong when it comes to players who have blanks and DGWs? This is great.

            Mane Siggy Phillips Fletcher (Sterling)
            Lukaku (Kun Kane)

Used my FT on Ibra > Lukaku to give me 8 (if Phillips plays), which of these would you do for a hit?

            a) Kun > Llorente

I'm not planning to get him back. Dangerous, yes, but I will need convincing that he's not going to be on semi autopilot for the rest of the season. He's expensive, and with Kun & Kane performing there are other captain choices.

Centre backs don't do that much running - I reckon stability in the middle at the back is important, even to Pep.

Stones and Sterling IMO. Possibly Yaya.

            (1FT, 0.5 itb) (play 3-5-2 normally)

            Jaku
            Coleman/Baines/Brunt/Robertson
            Mane/Siggy
            Diomande

            Bench/not playing:
Heaton, Chambers*, Sane, Sterling, Alli, Aguero, Kane

            A) Aguero -> Lukaku
            B) A + Sane/Sterling -> Firmino (-4)
            C) A + Chambers -> Fernandez (-4)
            D) A+B+C
            E) Other options?

            B)
            GW28: Sterling -> King

            Mane, Firmino, Snoddy, Sterling*

So, I've got 9 starters for GW 28 atm (if Barnes starts):

            Jaku
            Olsson, Baines, McAuley
            Siggy, Barkley, Mane
            Lukaku, Barnes

Will probably be moving Sterling, but to who for -4? Thinking maybe King/Fraser/Lanzini/???

Any cash? If you can afford I'd go Coutinho or Firmino. If no cash then i'd go Antonio personally.

That's a shame. I'd go Antonio personally, but King also looks a decent short term punt.

Thanks! It's tricky though, would like a long term enabler but that all depends on the Sanchez situation

            My current team

            Foster-Grant
            Luiz-Walker-Funes Mori-Pieters-Amat
            Firmino-Sterling-Phillips-Fletcher-Snodgrass
            Kun-Ibra-Kaku

            1FT, 0.2ITB

            What im thinking:
GW28 Ibra to Llorente and Sterling to Mane (-4) Will have 9 playing + amat
GW29 Philips to Eriksen and Kun to Kane (-4)

            What do people think?

Ibra to Kaku it is then. What to do with Aguero then? Already spending 4 points getting Coleman in. I reckon it'll be worth it with the favourable fixture in 29.

Another 4 to transfer to Llorente/Carroll before an upgrade to Kane in 29 anyways.

Keep Kun. No other vital forward that you'd want to keep long term. He'll like the Pool defence too I would imagine.

              1) Yes
              2) 11
              3) Antonio
              4) Carroll
              5) Carroll if this week, Kane if next week
              6) Aguero very likely, the other two probably but one may be rested
              7) Mane but all are very close
              8) If you kept him for the first blank and the bad fixture, you might as well keep him with just one blank left

              Challenge accepted.

              1. Yes. Best week for hits.
              2. 8 (10 with crocked Phillips & golden boy Amat)
              3. Snodgrass.
              4. Llorente, just, due to slightly better fixtures and fitness. Gabbiadini another option from next week.
              5. Lukaku. If already got him, then go Llorente. Kane next. Then Costa.
              6. Gets out Crystal ball. All three, maybe not. See Sterling being rested (Sterling owner).
              7. Gets out crystal ball. Firmino has the all round stats. Coutinho looks 'due' a haul (whatever that means). Mane has the form, and better season so far. Firmino or Mane for me. Mane more exciting, Firmino cheaper. Toss that coin.
              8. Wait til GW30 or 31. Choice between Aguero or him for me in 30, form will dictate this, definitely will change after.

              What do I win?

            Aguero (!) Lukaku (C)

            Bench: Pickford (!), Ibrahimovic (!), Cedric (!), Sterling (!)

He's reeled me in again. At least without Jesus around he has a better chance of going on a decent run.

Would've dumped before Ibra's naughtiness. Now the latter has gone I'll be keeping Aguero for 29. 30 is a toss up between him and Sanchez.

Fair play to Ibrahimovic for accepting a three game ban despite being headbutted in the elbow by Tyrone Mings. Respect.

I opted for Lanzini, mainly due to fixtures, but King looks a good pick too.

Between GWs 32-34 King has CHE, tot, MID which doesn't look ideal. I guess it depends how long you plan to keep him.
