Dugout Discussion – Bournemouth vs Brighton

The Gameweek begins with a Friday night clash under lights at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth host south coast rivals Brighton in what is already a vital match for the home side.

Eddie Howe’s Cherries are simply in dismal form. They have suffered four successive defeats and have just a single goal to their name – albeit a goal of the season contender from Fantasy favourite Charlie Daniels.

Impotent in attack, Howe’s defence have also allowed 30 shots on target, more than any other side.

Such statistics will give Chris Hughton’s Brighton plenty of confidence heading into the contest, having sealed their first ever Premier League victory in Gameweek 3 with a 3-1 win over West Brom.

Pascal Gross inspired that performance with an 18-point haul made up of two goals and an assist. Fantasy managers will be fixed on his display in the number ten role tonight as the main point of interest.

Indeed, the match provides a sedate introduction to Gameweek 5, with few Fantasy assets on show.

The aforementioned Daniels is the top owned player in action. Still part of 12.7% of squads, the left-back has been sold by more than 222,000 managers over the last three Gameweeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    I have to say - even though the first half wasn't great football last night - Friday night games are brilliant.

    They really should be every week, such an improvement to normal Friday night dross on TV. It's great having 4 days back to back FPL also

        Sky went a bit mental with the pre-match though, running about on the touch line, interviewing Eddie Howe in a cupboard just before kickoff etc, think it was a bit of a stretch for G-Nev but in fairness he dealt with that live TV environment like a seasoned pro

    Morning everyone, have 2 FTs and ARS - MCI nice fixtures together with Gross's form make me wonder between some options. Which seems better?

    Pickford (Elliot)
    Dunk Davies Maguire (Holgate, Tuanzebe)
    Alli, Ozil, Mahrez, Antonio (Cork)
    Kane, Firmino, Wood

    0,5 ITB, 2 FTs

    a) Ozil + Antonio -> Alexis + Gross
    b) Antonio + Holgate -> Gross + Kolasinac
    c) Antonio + Firmino -> Gross + Jesus
    d) Any other ideas.
    Any thoughts appreciated.

            Llorente should get his minutes unlike Janssen he seems he ll help the team scoring goals. Kane will probably miss a game(or start from the bench and maybe get some minutes if the scoreline isnt clear) vs a weaker opponent. Could be this one, could be the one vs APOEL which i believe is more likely. Son could also play as a false 9 but with Llorente in the team its unlikely imo

        Who knows usually when a new manager comes in the players have a class game and win it at (H) but Southampton have the potential to win that game with today the pressure is all gonna be on Woy and Palace think they can nick it 0-2

        ^^^ this

        I'd rethink the team to get a decent 2 on the bench.

        I had heavy front 3 (kane lukaku aguero) from the off and switched last week. When the budget players aren't getting points it really hurts your overall score. Maybe I just picked the wrong players tho

        The price change prediction sites have a pretty good handle on it. It's just hard to predict what is happenimg with the ownership of each individual player.

          Didn't think of it that way!!! I sold ince last sat or sunday when he was on 98% didn't drop all week.

          I guess he is in scout team so he could have been transfered in during the week.

            Wildcards are a bigger factor at the minute. If you're on a wildcard and own Ince, you're likely to ditch him. But if you have 1 FT there may well be more pressing concerns. The price change prediction sites make adjustments for wildcards, but they still struggle a bit to adjust enough for players who are particularly popular moves in or out on wildcards.

    Morning lads, I'm finally thinking of splashing the cash on alonso. Was put off having him from the start with the rumours they were trying to sign another left full/wingback.

    My current backline is.
    Foster, myhill

    Thinking Dawson to alonso as I already have foster. Good move? Would you sell a different defender 1st?

    Something I never realised until today.

    Lots of teams on 0 points so far. We've all got different GW ranks.

    I thought they'd just give you all the same GW rank, then have a big drop for the next highest. (e.g. if 100,000 score 10 points and 10 is the highest weekly score, everyone would be on 1, and then people on 9 points will be ranked 100,001st etc).

    So GW ranks can be pretty misleading, especially if you're scoring around average.

    Having said that, I don't remember this being the case in GW 1. It was as described above.

    Am I missing something here?

      Some have made transfers, some haven't. That affects your rank if on same points.

        I know for a fact that’s bullshit.

      Tie break on number of transfers. Next tie break on hits.
      2 teams are given same rank only when they have same points, same number of transfers and same number of hits.

    Elliot
    Mendy - Alonso - Kolasinac - Davies - Bailly
    Salah - Eriksen - Mkhi
    Jesus - Morata

    Krul - RLC - Carroll - McBurnie

    Frustrating for Daniels owners last night. He continually got into excellent positions but Defoe and King didn't seem to offer much of a route to an assist.

    I think we Should take a hit only when it's absolutely necessary! I wanted to take a 4 point hit but went against it since it was not definitely needed. I thought I might as well do it next week. Just saw that no hits took me almost about 25k rankings up.
