Yahoo Focus – Gameweek 16

We bring you news of another big-money contest from our partner game Yahoo for Daily Fantasy managers.

There’s a bumper Premier League £3k Saturday contest which takes in the six fixtures from 3pm onwards that day and finishes with the 5.30pm clash between Newcastle United and Leicester City at St James’ Park.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to six teams. The top 173 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £300 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game boasts a unique scoring system that is ideal for those in our community seeking a Daily Fantasy Sports game over the festive period and beyond.

New players can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before selecting your starting lineup, we recommend having a read of our Strategy Guide, as this gives you a better idea of the Yahoo game and the types of players who tend to benefit.

FFS Strongest XI

Hugo Lloris – £16
Kieran Trippier – £17
Kyle Naughton – £14
Kiko Femenia – £14
Christian Eriksen – £25
Pascal Gross – £18
Yohan Cabaye – £17
Demarai Gray – £17
Matt Ritchie – £16
Harry Kane – £29
Wilfried Bony – £17

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up could be subject to change.

As one of only two top six teams set to feature in the Saturday £3k contest, Spurs dominate our Yahoo selection for the visit of Stoke City.

Hugo Lloris is one of four players selected from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who have conceded just two goals in their last five league matches at Wembley Stadium. Up against a Potters’ outfit that has won just once on the road all season, Lloris also benefits from the Yahoo scoring system, as goalkeepers earn double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet, as well as points for wins or draws.

Rested from the midweek Champions League win over APOEL Nicosia, Kieran Trippier looks poised for a recall against Mark Hughes’ men. Identically priced to team-mate Ben Davies (£17), Trippier betters the Welshman for a number of metrics in home matches. The right-back has the edge for crosses (50 to 26), successful crosses (10 to seven), chances created (16 to 10) and fouls won (eight to five), while no team-mate has made more successful tackles (14) at Wembley this season.

A home clash with West Brom brings Kyle Naughton into contention as Swansea City go in search of a third clean sheet in five at the Liberty. The all-action full-back’s style of play is well-suited to Yahoo scoring – Naughton has made more successful tackles (38) and interceptions (28) than any team-mate and is placed third for successful crosses (seven). Meanwhile, the Baggies have scored just two goals in their last five on the road and failed to find the net at home to Crystal Palace in their first match under Alan Pardew.

We also turn to Watford’s raiding right wing-back Kiko Femenia, who visits a Burnley side that have scored just five times in front of their own supporters. The Spaniard, who has created 14 scoring chances and made 27 successful tackles so far, is ranked top for interceptions (25) among team-mates and sits second for both completed crosses (11) and fouls won (12) ahead of his Turf Moor visit.

Christian Eriksen was also given the night off from European duties in midweek. Up against a Stoke side that have conceded 30 goals this season – second only to West Ham’s 32 – the Dane could be back among the points on Saturday. No player has provided more crosses (59) in front of their own fans than Eriksen, who has fired 17 attempts and created as many chances at Wembley. After supplying an assist away to Watford last week, he’s looking for his first set of home returns since firing Gameweek 8’s winner against Bournemouth.

Brighton’s trip to Huddersfield looks promising for playmaker Pascal Gross. The summer signing has played a part in 56% of his side’s goals when on the pitch, courtesy of three strikes and five assists, and faces a defence that’s conceded 23 times and managed a single shut-out in the last nine Gameweeks. The Seagulls’ set-piece taker is ranked second overall for successful crosses (28) this term and has created 31 scoring chances – double that of any team-mate.

Yohan Cabaye looks set to recover from the knock that forced him off last weekend in time for Crystal Palace’s home match with Bournemouth. The Frenchman’s potential in Yahoo has risen since the arrival of Roy Hodgson in Gameweek 5 – he has made more successful crosses (20) and interceptions (27) than any team-mate, sits joint-top for key passes (19) and third for completed tackles (25). His supply could be key against a defence that sits second bottom for headed attempts conceded (40) this season.

Costing just £17 in Yahoo, Demarai Gray looks a bargain buy as Leicester make their way to Newcastle. The starlet profited from a No 10 role in the previous Gameweek, firing four shots inside the box and scoring the winner at home to Burnley – his second strike in five starts under new manager Claude Puel. Gray now faces a Magpies defence that have allowed 46 efforts inside the box over the last four Gameweeks – at least nine more than any other side.

Matt Ritchie is also selected for the St James’ Park fixture. The Magpies’ playmaker will be key to their chances of breaching a Leicester defence that have conceded 229 efforts on goal – only Burnley (254) have allowed more. Top for successful crosses (24) and chances created (26) in the Newcastle ranks, Ritchie has already supplied seven assists this season, including two against West Brom in Gameweek 15. Despite failing to find the net this term, the Scotland international is second only to Joselu when it comes to shots on goal (30 to 32) for Rafa Benitez’s men.

We’re keeping faith in Harry Kane for Spurs’ Wembley encounter with Stoke. Another to be rested against APOEL on Wednesday, he’s netted six times in his last three league appearances against the Potters. There’s no doubt this his output at Spurs temporary residence remains an issue, yet Kane’s underlying numbers continue to impress. At home, he’s the league’s top-ranked player for shots (45) and efforts inside the opposition box (27).

Having opened his account for the season with a strike away to Stoke last weekend, Wilfried Bony can profit again as West Brom roll up to the Liberty. Partnered by Tammy Abraham last weekend, the Ivorian fired five attempts on goal to his fellow forward’s zero, which suggests he will carry Swansea’s main goal threat against a Baggies defence with a single clean sheet in the last 10 Gameweeks.

The Weekend’s Contests

The Premier League £3k Saturday contest isn’t the only big-money game on offer to Yahoo managers this weekend.

They also have a Premier League £1.5k Sunday contest, which takes in all three matches that day.

It kicks off at midday, when Southampton host Arsenal at St Mary’s, and concludes with the 4.30pm Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

This is also guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, so you enter up to three teams. The top 82 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £150 going to the first place.

Yahoo are also running a Premier League £1,000,000 Perfect Lineup Cup, which takes place over Gameweek 1-19.

It’s free to enter, with £500 in prizes and £50 for the best team every week. Over the 19 Gameweeks, there’s £40k in prizes on offer, with £30k shared among the top 5,000 and £10k going to the winner.

The Yahoo Cup also has a “£1,000,000 challenge”, which gives away £1m to any user who selects the perfect line-up in any given Gameweek to score the maximum possible points.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

There is an unsubstantiated rumour that Morata is one of the players Conte was referring to as "tired". Possibility he will be rested on Sunday particularly as he is on suspension tightrope

I don't mid if these managers actually give their players some proper rest rather than make them travel and/or give them cameos.

I have a decent bench but it never bloody gets used...

Selling if I get the chance, was one of the first buyers so have all the profit to cash out, in saying that I will need to have a spare FT which is probably unlikely 🙁
