After teasing us with a list of player prices and the revelation of a new Free Hit chip over the last few days, Fantasy Premier League has finally opened for registration ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Launched a week earlier than last yearโs July 19 date, we now have 30 days to assemble our 15-man squads before Arsenal and Leicester City get Gameweek 1 underway on Friday August 11.
A quick look at the Player Price list shows that Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez are the priciest players on offer at ยฃ12.5m and ยฃ12.0m.
Kaneโs average of 7.5 points per match (ppm) was more than any FPL regular last term, while Sanchez โ who remains a midfielder โ clocked up 6.9 ppm on his way to topping the charts with 264 points.
Last yearโs most expensive player, Sergio Aguero drops from ยฃ13.0m to ยฃ11.5m โ the same as Romelu Lukaku โ with Manchester City team-mate Gabriel Jesus offering a cheaper alternative at ยฃ10.5m.
Meanwhile, City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is one of just three midfielders priced in double-figures. The Belgian comes in at ยฃ10.0m on the back of 21 assists in 2016/17, with Chelseaโs Eden Hazard listed at ยฃ10.5m.
As we discovered yesterday, Liverpoolโs Roberto Firmino is now re-classified as a forward – at ยฃ8.5m, he offers a cheaper route into the Redsโ attack than midfield trio Sadio Mane (ยฃ9.5m), Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah (both ยฃ9.0m).
At the back, Chelseaโs Marcos Alonso is the most expensive defender in the game โ the wing-back comes in at ยฃ7.0m after averaging 5.7 ppm in his first season at the Bridge.
As always, weโll roll out a series of Player Price List articles over the next few days, breaking them down by classification and cost.
In the meantime, enjoy delving in and getting those opening squads built.
