As the fallout from last weekend’s Premier League action continues to rumble on courtesy of Wayne Rooney’s mouth, our Fantasy scores have been set in stone and we can look back at how the 256 Fantasy Managers fared in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV. The full set of results can be accessed right here, and what follows is a summary of highs (and lows) of the round…

We’ll start with the top-scorer of the week cm1mds, who notched an impressive tally of 79 and soundly beat Loves when carlo reads out team on a friday by 16 points in the process. That was easily the highest aggregate scoring tie of the round, involving the 1st and 15th top-scorers for the round, with the loser having the best score not good enough to progress.

The biggest win of the second round came when Cescy_11 thrashed daiHai 71 – 24, putting an almighty 47 point gulf between them.

As for the lowest-scoring match-ups in the round, the 26 – 26 draw between Afc Chameleon and Fatmag totalled the fewest points in a game, with 10,710th Afc Chameleon progressing at the expense of his 118,460th ranked opponent.

The poorest individual score went to Aggronaut, who amassed an abysmal 13 points giving opponent MartinB an easy passage into the third round despite his score being two points below the rounds average (45).

Other than the one mentioned above there were two other drawn games, with Morpheus and newman edging kiggs85 and Dan_797 respectively, by virtue of their superior overall ranks.

Moving on to the glamour tie of the round and, oh so predictably, it was Gooner dave who ran-out a 44-30 winner against Goose. The slightly more competitive undercard bout to that main event, saw Locarno eliminate Breakballartist 58 – 55.

Any hopes of a dream match-up between Jonty and JauntyJonty were dashed at the weekend, with JauntyJonty succumbing 45 – 34 to mathsgeek. The FFS Cup II champ marches on however, after creaming Milky 55 – 49.

Another potential fairytale coming to an abrupt end was qualifier #512 RonnayBarkay‘s 61 – 47 exit at the hands of jottonolan.

The Scout Contributor’s have been cut in half again, with da Beeeez now the last remaining Scout involved. He made light work of Foolsgold, seeing him off 58 – 39. Big Dunc on the other-hand was comfortably beaten 48 – 35 by Yanky.

Congratulations to the 128 Fantasy Managers advancing, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage. The third round draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV will be announced in the next 48 hours.

You can get lamps for a 4 point hit if you want. But your team doesn't look too bad for this week.

If I wanted lampard, in your situation, I'd show Tevez the door for a cheaper striker, making that an easy trasnfer. My choice of striker would be sturride, good gw32, blank 33, and double 34. I'm getting sturridge anyway and trying to get a few to join me!

Already used freebie this week getting welbeck. Need two more transfers this week to get lamps. Was gona do vdv and silva out for lamps and ohara. Chasing rival by 31 points. Money at stake

Well, look at the next few weeks... everyone will be taking hits for the various dgws. So - Taking hits now means not taking hits later. So it's up to you as long as the players you bring in have dgws coming up. (Which both lampard and ohara have)

So in my opinion go for it.

Maybe not vdv AND silva though, because they both have dgws coming up too.

Shocking as it sounds, nani might be an option... He has been benched for united's last 2 games.

    Rooney - Hernandez anyone?

Need to free fund for Lamps.. The other option would be to do Suarez - Welbeck

I was wondering about Chico last week but wiser heads than mine said NO! Sunderland are playing really badly just now. There are other options such as D.J.Campbell or a Bolton or Wolves forward because they have doubles. Somebody I've not noticed being touted is Stephen Fletcher. Less keen on Stoke and Fulham fixtures.

If planning on doing Nani & Baines -> Lamps & Walker, is it best to do:

    (A) both in GW32 and take a hit,
    (B) Baines -> Walker in GW32, Nani -> Lampard in GW33, or
    (C) both in GW33

Depends mate. Lamps could score big this week. I'm in the same dilemma. See above. Ideally u don't wana cost urself hits. The way I look at it if ur gona tale a hit to get lamps in this week u have to captain him to try and get good points from him thus making it worth your while. However I think rvp is best captains choice personally. U could them both nxt week with two free transfers

You might as well take the hit now. You'll be taking hits for gw34 anyway, surely, so taking one earlier now means one less later.

To get dgw players for gw34... You know it's the time to take hits... they play 2 games in that gameweek

So if their average score is 4 or more, you're likely (statistically) to get it back immediately... If he has better fixtures after gw34, youre almost certain to get it back eventually.

In my opinion, it's as much of a gamble to avoid hits for double game weeks, as it is to take hits at other times.

Tbh, I'm only thinking of getting Zamora in for the GW34 doubles - not a huge fan of the DGW teams and fixtures in GW34.

    Foster
    Luiz, Terry, Baines
Fabregas, Nasri, A Young, Nasri, VDV

Does anyone know, perchance, why VDV was taken off against Madrid?

Oh, and I see that our friend Zlatan at the top of the page has a gorgon on his bench. Isn't that dangerous?

I'd say if Crouch hadn't been sent off he would have played longer. It was definitely tactical.

Well he was (nominally) playing as lone striker so probably Harry wanted an actual striker for the role...can't be certain he's not injured of course

I see Prawn Sandwiches Keano is interested in the vacant Melbourne Victory coaching role. I'll stop supporting Victory if we sign him up. I feel dirty that my club is affiliated with him.

Leeds have Ken Bates and I don't feel cheapened. I guess if your team's doing well, the personnel don't matter.
